I went to the shooting range for the first time, and my husband paid for a private lesson with Doug Horn, aka "Santa Claus." It was money well spent! The 45-minute lesson was perfect for me as a beginner. I was feeling pretty anxious since it was my first time, but Doug was extremely patient, calm, and reassuring. He took his time explaining everything and really helped calm my nerves. I felt much more comfortable and confident by the end of the lesson. I'm so glad my husband booked this for me. Went to my local firearms store to purchase my first home defense weapon. They referred me to this range letting me know I should try them out before I make a final decision and that this range was the best in the area. They weren't wrong. The first day I came I brought a friend (you will need to bring someone if you do not own a firearm). And everything was great but what my friend pointed out is that the first person who helped us with the rentals wasn't really helpful and was kind of a smartass. I didn't really think anything of it but when we came back to exchange our rental firearms for the next round we got a different guy (Nathan). And this is where it made me notice the difference. He walked us thru which guns we should look at and really talked to us like he cared. To the point where when we left my friend even said something like 'damn that second guy was really helpful' Second time I came back with my brand new firearm to try it out. After checking in, I was about to walk into the bay, but saw the guy that helped us (Nathan) at the rental so I just asked real quick if I was okay to shoot my firearm as is out of the box. He stopped me and suggested I oil it first. He gave me a brief rundown of how to field strip my firearm and the points to oil. Along with some other newbie/safety things to know. Honestly if it weren't for this guy I may have hurt myself or something lol. Also he gave me a lot of tips that were a big help. My first time at any shooting range! Its an indoor place but seems like its pretty well run. I was briefed at home prior to leaving on all the strict safety rules which all make sense so it greatly helped. You pay for an hour and pick out your papers to shoot at. Law enforcement people get a discount. They do rentals for the ear muffs and eye protection but we had our own. Thank goodness because I was not expecting it to be so loud inside....as a jumpy person in general, I was semi dying inside. But anyway, had lots of fun and got to learn. Glad I didn't do anything dangerous that would cause us to get kicked out....It wasn't too crowded at all. Staff were super friendly overall. Came here when they opened at 12pm. Needed to sight in optic and get in some target practice with my pistol. Spent about an hour and 15 minutes. I love this place as they have clean space and knowledgeable staff. They even a discount for first responders. Plentiful of parking by door and additional parking in the rear. Fun spot to practice and master marksmanship fundamentals. Employees and the community are friendly at this shooting range. There are variety of guns to choose from. I feel like I'm getting better every time I come in and practice. As an American, you gotta at least embrace the 2nd amendment, but responsibly and respectfully. Place is awesome but the workers are not all there they are nice fersure but are slow. I went in with my ar pistol and have a magpul fin pistol brace on it. They argued hell and high water it was a stock and told me it was an sbr and needed a tax stamp for it so I had to leave. They told me it wasn't a brace because it didn't go around my arm so just make sure you remove it prior to going loool. The owner also stated they dont allow ar pistols due to the noise and "damage" to the range which is understandable but no where do they state that nor are they straight forward with it they just make stuff up to not allow the firearm saying they havnt allowed it for 6 years even tho I seen a ar pistol there 6 months ago read more

06/26/2025 We stopped by after picking up my new gun from Rifle Gear. We arrived around 1pm to my surprise there were still 3-4 parking spaces left. We were helped by Doug, Doug is our favorite we like him a lot he always have great stories to tell that are both funny and informative. We received 2 hours of shooting time today. On other visits especially on the weekends where it tends to get more crowded they would limit shooting time to only 1 hour. In that case I would call first and ask. Today July 4, 2025 Happy Independence Day everybody!!! I got a message on Yelp from a guy telling me not to come to FT3 anymore. There was an incident involving his 80 year old father I wanted to reply to him finding out what actually happened, but was unable to find the message anymore. I searched all the one star reviews and found nothing. I think this all B.S!! PRO TIP: When you open your Gun or Rifle case for them to inspect your gear. Do NOT touch the gun/rifle. Some RO gets antsey and tell you Stop!! Don't Touch!!! All of my weapons have a chamber flag inserted without the magazine. read more

I looked online for a range in my area and came across this place. Clean, lots of lanes, open late I was stoked. I was coming every weekend for a a few months. One day I came in and did the bag check like usual and the dude totally had a cow. " We don't allow SBR's!" I said its a fully CA COMPLIANT AR pistol. He then said, " You have a vertical grip!" I replied, NO that's a hand stop. If your working at a range knowing whats what should be mandatory. There should be training and someone qualified to make that call on what qualifies or not. In a HEAVILY restricted state it sucks when places don't allow what they don't understand. If I can understand the laws and know whats allowed, there's no excuse why the people that work here can't. I'm only one person and this place could care less but I can't support a place that restricts me out of ignorance and fear. UPDATE : I saw your reply and thought to myself that's very strange. On 2 different occasions people broke the TRS and shut down the whole range for 20-30 mins while staff tried to fix them. Yet pistols are still allowed. We both know there's IG idiots there for a post and have no business shooting but don't make the people who actually shoot and train pay the price. read more

I discovered FT3 Tactical online and decided to check it out. I'm really glad I did. From the moment my sister and I walked in, the staff were welcoming, knowledgeable, and respectful. The range is clean, and has a vibrant, positive atmosphere. Totally different experience compared to another range in Orange that came off as condescending. During my visit, I had the chance to try a Juggernaut Tactical rifle for the first time a brand I hadn't heard of before and I was instantly hooked after the first shot. Having only shot Glocks before, I felt hesitant, but the staff made the transition easy and enjoyable. I'll definitely plan on purchasing a JT rifle once I complete FSC. Went here for 1:1 training to sample several different handguns. I'd really recommend it for any new shooter trying to figure out what to buy. Our trainer Tom was really nice and extremely knowledgeable. We learned a lot even though we'd already had a several hour handgun basics course elsewhere. It was well worth the cost. read more

This is an updated review after coming here as my default long rifle range for about a year. As stated before this is the one of the cleanest indoor shooting range I've been to in California. The range is very modern and they have those computerized target systems that let you set the distances at your leisure. They are one of the few places that let you shoot long rifle with your own ammo (FMJ with brass case only). They aren't too strict on anything, as long as your rifle is 16" long including the muzzle and have a scope they will let you in. They don't really state how much range time you will get but I've gotten as little as one hour on a busy day to practically unlimited on a slow day. Prices are very reasonable. Lane fee is $25 per head, paper target is around $2-3 per sheet. The parking can be abysmal though, they run classes in the morning so half of it gets taken up until they open for business. My advice is come here at least 15-30 minutes early and get a spot. read more

Call me an a-hole, but I feel this range hosts more skilled shooters of our society and not all the rookies... It can get crowded with a wait in the evenings and weekends, but their waiting lobby is accommodating and comfortable. Gives customers a chance to check out the guns you can rent or grab a snack. The staff is ALWAYS friendly. They get people set up with their lanes fast, run through range rules and get you going. Good selection of targets, eye and ear protection available for those who don't have their own, and pretty inexpensive per person (about $20).. Bring your own ammo, I support that. read more

My dad and I went to this gun range for the first time, and it was such a memorable experience--especially because it was his first time holding a gun. We decided to go with the quick start course. Our instructor, Jesse T, was absolutely wonderful. It is hard to put into words how he helped facilitate such a special experience for us. He's knowledgeable and made us feel comfortable right away. From the moment we started, he was friendly, patient, and took the time to get to know our goals and explain everything clearly without ever making us feel rushed or overwhelmed. This has to be one of my favorite indoor ranges for shooting guns. The service is great. The value is pretty good, the amount you pay for a lane is rather cheap. The targets they sell you are pretty cheap as well. I usually bring my own guns and my own ammo. I can understand that maybe buying ammo here would be expensive. Came here for a range day with the Long Beach chapter of the California Rifle and Pistol Organization. About a dozen of us showed up and we were lucky to have lanes 1-3 so we shared them. I made this a bit of a show-and-tell day by bringing my Chippa Rhino (because it's an oddball revolver in .357 but shooting .38 out of makes it feel like a cap gun). Coming from Long Beach so it's one of those "it's far but not too far"; I usually either do my BSIS qualifications with Valley Guard Training or go to the other range in Artesia. Parking is a bit tricky because it fill up, even midweek on a Wednesday. Staff is friendly, place is clean and climate controlled, great lobby and the signage and check in process made it easy for a first-time visitor. read more

They are very professional and explained the rules and how to work the electronic target retrieval system. The lanes are great. The air exchange system is top of the line. My boyfriend and I came here tonight to try shooting for the first time and it couldn't have been a better experience. I have sensitivity with noise and as embarrassing as it is, got very overwhelmed by the sound of all the gun shots before I even got the chance to try one myself. Cole took notice, offered me a refreshment on the house and gave me a chance to sit out and relax. Once I felt ready to try again, Cole broke down the calibers of each gun and we found one that I would be more comfortable trying with less recoil. His patience and kindness made me comfortable enough to give it another shot. Tony was kind enough to teach me how to properly hold the gun and maintain the right stance.
