Money well spent! Is what i would say as a person who goes to range pretty often i chose to pursue my CCW to my luck i found tap rack bang! I went into class thinking we would just be taught law and how not to get in trouble being a ccw holder. That was not the case as i have mentioned before i frequent the range and after my ccw course with Ernie, Josh, Tyron(sorry if i misspelled that), and Dustin i walked out with not just knowledge on law but technique when it comes to drawing, concealing, proper holster fitment, stance, and some drills to practice. If you are pursuing your ccw you will pay about the same amount of money to get a "PASS" type class behind a screen why not get your moneys worth and actually learn something. I took Ernie's initial first-time CCW class and thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm not a fan of sugar coated anything, and I was very pleased with the straight-forward & realistic course. It lasted 2 days (16 hours) the first day was entirely in the classroom. We focused on course work & dry fire practice. The second day started out in the range. Ernie taught us how to draw from our holster and aim, something not required in CA but again, something realistic and good to know. Then we finished the day in the classroom and I enjoyed the informative, real-world conversations held. As a woman motorcyclist, I've had experiences that felt uncomfortable and isolating in a largely male-dominated field. So I wanted to highlight that I was very impressed with the chivalrous individuals that the CCW community brings. There was myself and one other woman in the class, and 16 men. This type of situation can be very intimidating, but not in Ernie's class. I felt very welcomed and accepted in his classroom. Ernie addressed real factors about training that apply specifically to women and how to navigate thru them. This was such a breath of fresh air and geniunely such a relief. Instructor was super informative and made the eight hour a day class go by in a flash. Learned a lot of great information I will carry on with me in the future in regards to having a CCW license. I needed to take California Non-Resident CCW training to get a licenses so I signed up for TRB. I've had plenty of training and hold CCW in another state, am an NRA basic pistol instructor and a certified Range Safety Officer so I was afraid I wouldn't learn anything new. Ernie Medina is an awesome instructor with a great sense of humor. This is my initial CCW class for LAPD and he made it extremely educational and fun. The drills run on the second day with Dylan as a secondary instructor were very helpful as they structured them towards real life situations. If you're new to shooting and are interested in getting a CCW, this may be the class for you. I can't speak for any other CCW classes, considering this was my first one, but after taking this class, I find it difficult to believe that the training and knowledge that is provided by this class can be accomplished within the minimum, state required 8 hours for new CCW applicants. Also, when I described the course to an existing CCW holder, they informed me that this class seemed very thorough and provided more applicable and useful training for concealed carrying. To put it simply, it was like a CCW and beginning pistol/pistol one class. The instructors seemed very knowledgeable and the class was very engaging. One of the more enjoyable classes I've ever taken. But, that's just my opinion, so take it for what it's worth. All in all, I highly recommend this class. Even as an experienced shooter, I learned new concepts and techniques that I need to practice, in order to make me a more efficient and better shooter, because a responsible gun owner should always be trying to learn and improve. Considering, you're paying close to the same amount for an 8 hour/one day class from other places, wouldn't you want to get the most out of your CCW training and have more confidence to responsibly concealed carry? I went to TRB for my CCW training. The class was 16 hours over 2 days and I am very happy I took the class. Ernie was our instructor and he was very chill and knowledgeable and made time for everyone. Brenden came in on day 2 and he too was very chill had lots of valuable information and was happy to share and teach proper techniques. I have been shooting firearms my whole life my uncles were all hunters some in law enforcement and shooting firearms was just a way of life. So I knew basic gun safety and how to hold a handgun or so I thought. They cover all the basics and all the not-so-basics. They improved my target acquisition and accuracy. My grip worked before but the proper grip works better. Overall I am way more confident with my firearms and feel confident that if needed I could act accordingly. They cover all your legal questions and go over your liability. They have all services there for you during the class such as Live scan and Insurance. If you are getting your CCW and have to do your training or renew I highly recommend Tap Rack Bang! By the time I finished the 16 hours, I had everything I need to complete my CCW application with my local sheriff and Arizona and Utah as well. A weekend well spent. I recently completed TRB's comprehensive 16 hour CCW training class rather than the eight hour class from other providers and was glad I did. Ernie and his team are extremely knowledgeable and thorough. The classroom lectures and videos covered all the legal requirements, responsibilities and liabilities. Additionally, the practical real life scenarios covered proper stance and handling, including holster draw presentation, emergency, reloads, and clearing malfunctions. This was followed by the students demonstrating proficiency with live fire down range from the holster. I don't believe this is even covered in other provider eight hour CCW classes. Overall as a woman, I would recommend this class for anyone that has not already experience carrying a loaded handgun. I will continue to take classes from Ernie and his team. read more

This review is long overdue... Although I have shot a few guns a few times in the past, professional firearms training was brand new to me. I noticed just how many options there are out there and I was quite picky in researching the 'right' school for me. After speaking with a fellow Realtor friend of mine (already carrying concealed) he had recommended Tap Rack Bang Training to me as a viable option towards receiving the required 16 hours of firearms training I needed to qualify for my CCW permit. This class appeared to satisfy both beginners as well as more competent shooters. Believe me when I tell you that this class extends far beyond shooting. Ernie, Brendon, and Stephan were my instructors. All of them brought a unique mindset and approach, not only to gunfighting but to day to day life. We spent a lot of time discussing situational awareness which is now a class in and of itself (see Advanced CCW which I have now also attended and intend on attending again). "Do you want to go to jail, or do you want to go home?" -Ernie Medina??? Live fire on the range was incredible! Their expertise, attention to detail and safety processes made me feel comfortable and able to focus on my training. The TRB Training staff is engaging and extremely friendly. Highly recommend going to TRB for your firearm training needs! The staff was professional, personable, and extremely knowledgeable. I really also appreciated that they took the time out to educate everyone about firearm safety & rules/laws/etc. and not just strictly going over how to shoot, but why (or why you shouldn't in certain instances).
