Great range, great customer service, excellent facilities for various types of training. I took a small group for their first outing shooting. The range was very well maintained and provided a great space to train new shooters on the proper safe handling of pistols. In the past, I've used this range for pistol qualifications for my military unit and we collectively enjoyed our time there. It was great to see that my professional and personal experiences were equal.

I've visited a few times before for hosted events, so can't really say much about the staff. It's my favorite event hosted by one of our sales reps. It's always an enjoyable morning with friends, food and some shooting. This time I even won a gift card to return. stoked!

Went last Sunday (4/27/25) and had a great experience. Jake in the check-in office was super nice. Checking in only took a few minutes. The pistol range wasn't much to look at it but it did the job. At one point, there were only 4-5 people in our section so it wasn't crowded. So nice to shoot outside too and not breathe in all the fumes! :) Loved our afternoon there--will be back to shoot the Ruger 10/22 on the rifle range!

Couldn't say better things about this shooting center! From the employee in the office to the nice kept grounds was awesome, for trap you pay up front then get a token and can hangout and shoot when you desire. Strongly recommend if you want to work on your trap or skeet game. I just shot trap driving back from a fishing trip as I live in San Diego. Will be back soon!

Long story, just don't do it!

Our first and last time here. Not friendly to new comers. Had a horrible time trying to get our money back due to them trying to move us because a league had to use our station.

If you're not in a rush, showing up after lunchtime can help you avoid the early wait, but keep in mind, on busy days you might miss out on getting a bay altogether. What really stands out is the staff. They're extremely helpful, friendly, and make the experience comfortable whether you're a beginner or more advanced. One thing to note, they don't offer rentals, so make sure to bring your own firearms. Overall, a solid spot with a great environment. Just plan your timing right and come prepared.

Never had an issue with the cashiers, sad to hear other people's experiences with them. The area is nice and spacious which is why I liked going here, you get your own bay and usually nobody bothers you. For 2 hours you'll pay 32 buck with cash and 37 with card. The wait can be brutal so get there early in the morning. There was a group of 4 of us this one time. The 2 older Range Officers, a middle aged Asian American guy and an old geezer probably in his 60s, they kept annoying us and tried multiple times flirting with our chick friend in the group. The chick friend told me she's goin' to stick next to me, so the Range Officers would stop interacting with her. Never had the Range Officers give my group this much attention. Long story short that broke the camel's back for me. I was at the 50 yard bay shooting a pistol with one hand, at a steel target provided by the range. Shot one handed here before with no issues. A younger Range Officer yelled at me and said what I was doing. I calmly replied back with no demeanor or with a rude attitude. I guess he didn't like me replying back to him when I answered his questions, then the middle aged Asian American Range Officer quickly comes up to talk to me. I replied calmly to him too, I apologized to deescalate the situation and he still kept being a fat d*ckhead. Then the old geezer Range Officer in his 60s who talks like he has sh*t stuck up his ass, I think he's the master of them, comes up to the bay and talks to me. He also didn't like it when I calmly replied back, it made him even more mad. If ya have a tough skin you'll be fine. The Range Officers are rude, except for one. Don't talk back to the Range Officers, they don't like it haha. Maybe you'll have a better experience here than I have. Won't be coming back here sadly.

I attended their intro to handguns class, covering the basics of safety and proper form, and getting in some introductory shooting experience. John, our instructor, was very engaging and great at commanding attention when needed and building up the class's confidence. Afterward, I took them up on their 'newbie' offer of free range time and rental after class. Kevin signed me up for a lane, let me rent a couple of handgun models I researched previously, and critiqued my targets, giving some general feedback and advice. He also pointed me toward a couple other models that are known to be more friendly to left-handed shooters that I can test out in the future. Great place; a little on the older and smaller sides, but staff was extremely friendly, helpful, and attentive. I get the feeling that as I 'shop around' for my go-to range there's a strong chance I will gravitate back here, since these guys are passionate about what they do, and seem to want to inspire that passion in others. Definitely will make it a point to stop by again.

As expected for a weekend, there was a wait, but since we were off for the day, we didn't mind hanging out on the folding chairs in the retail section for 30 minutes. The staff is awesome--super friendly and easy to talk to--and the check-in was painless. While waiting, I noticed their optics prices are actually lower than most other shops in OC. I'll definitely be back when I'm ready to pick up another Holosun. The only real downside is their range rule: you have to reload your magazines at the shooting stall, not the back table. Because the space is tight, I couldn't reload while my friend was shooting. We ended up spending half our time just loading mags, which really cut into our actual trigger time. It's a solid spot and less expensive than other local ranges, so I'd come back alone, but I'll probably skip the "buddy trips" here since the reload rule makes it hard for two people to get their money's worth.

At ShootSoCal, you can ask any question and they'll walk you through it without making you feel uncomfortable. That alone goes a long way and keeps me coming back.
