Firearms Training Academy is absolutely amazing. I came here as part of a training assignment with work. Marty the owner is an incredible man who is hilarious, witty, smart, and incredibly knowledgeable. He is a retired police sergeant and the walls of the academy are filled with shooting medals and honors and various other honors that he has won from the department. His wit and knowledge has also rubbed off on his sons who also work there. In the 2 days of training I have had here so far I have felt respected (even when I had trouble doing simple things like loading a magazine). No question that I have asked has been "too stupid" and I have always been answered with an answer that makes perfect sense to me. There is a great sense of professionalism here yet the guys love to crack jokes and share humorous stores with the class. I feel like this helps relax the atmosphere and it is good to learn what to do (or not to do) by thinking of real world scenarios. As part of our class we were also able to shoot which was a fantastic experience. Anyone who had questions during shooting was helped out immediately by Alex. Firearms Training Academy offers a variety of classes such as guard card training, baton training, firearms training, Livescan, etc. Trust me, it's a great place! Everything seems to be on par with what Zoie mentionioned. People working here seem nice and patient. I tested that today when my 3 year old was throwing a tantrum. Luckily they didn't kick me or my hubby out to the curb. Lol. They offer a wide range of courses and they have badges, pepper sprays, uniforms, batons, and other items for sale.
