I am an extremely anxious person and am easily triggered by loud noises. That did not matter here. Mr. James and his class is trauma-informed and it showed through his ongoing patience and kindness. I had the most wonderful and educational experience with FD (Fidelis Defense). James and Rogelio were very professional and knowledgeable every step of the way. They were funny, kind, patient and very approachable. My children as well as myself never held a fire arm before and with the introduction classes they offered, we learned so much in regards to safety and how to use firearms properly. We loved our experience with FD that we didn't mind the long drive from San Fernando Valley to Chino. We also attended a second class in which they instructed us on how to fire under stress and to control breathing in order to be effective when under stress/pressure. They focused on real life scenarios that made this more relatable and real. I highly recommend anyone with and without experience to take these classes. Especially if you have firearms at home, it is crucial to teach everyone in the household gun safety. Although we took a few classes, we are definitely going back for refreshers. read more

This was a great experience! I highly recommend the Basic Pistol Class for any novice. As someone who had never even touched a firearm, I liked how informative and patient James was. He walks you through everything, step-by-step, making sure you feel comfortable before moving on to the next thing. I feel very comfortable with handling a handgun after taking James' class. I've never held a gun before so I was really nervous. I took a pistol shooting class, and James was a great instructor. He was very detailed with instruction, made sure we were prepared before actually shooting bullets, and frequently asked for our feedback to gauge how we felt about each step and the class in general. I definitely feel more prepared with a firearm than before the class but it's clear more practice is needed. His rates are very competitive and worth the cost considering the smaller class size. My first time ever shooting a gun. Was a little nervous but the instructors were patient and took their time. They start off with a safety briefing then have you dry fire. This gets you used to pulling the trigger and more comfortable handling the firearms. Once you understand the concepts of grip and lining up your sights it's time to shoot!
