From the start of the whole experience the person who actually gave me the time of day and common courtesy unlike other establishments was Allie she was considerate and well informed about the specific gun I was inquiring about and even went out of her way to contact their distributor to get her hands on one. As soon as she got her hands on one she gave me a call and said I had first dibs basically and that I had a few days to reserve it before she called anyone else on the wait list which is more then anyone could ask for. Same day she called I went in to reserve the gun for purchase. Upon meeting her in person as well as Max it was a very pleasant and welcoming introduction/environment store is well kept gun displays are super clean and everything really uniform and presentable. As soon as I started to talk she knew who I was and went to grab the firearm. Her and Max were letting me get a feel for the gun(the break, slide release etc)then I started to ask about other guns and they immediately pointed me in the direction of other guns and one I might like better upon my request of their recommendation. This was my first gun purchase and wanted to make the right decision and with their knowledge and reasoning as to why I should choose this particular gun I was sold. Only thing keeping me from making a quicker decision was just the fact I really liked the look of my first choice but with enough time and comparison of both of them in my hands and testing out different things I ended up changing my mind to the 2nd choice. They immediately grabbed me a brand new one opened it for me and let me be the first to handle it which for me was just the icing on the cake for my first time Experience. Perfect for pistol shooters. The staff offered great service and went over all the rules before showing me to my lane. Check in was quick and smooth. The lanes themselves are fairly wide and outfitted very nice. Digital target system with preset distances was easy and quick to use. The range itself is dark but each lane is more than adequately lit. The RSO walking around was nice and made sure people were abiding by the rules. I attended their intro to handguns class, covering the basics of safety and proper form, and getting in some introductory shooting experience. John, our instructor, was very engaging and great at commanding attention when needed and building up the class's confidence. Afterward, I took them up on their 'newbie' offer of free range time and rental after class. Kevin signed me up for a lane, let me rent a couple of handgun models I researched previously, and critiqued my targets, giving some general feedback and advice. He also pointed me toward a couple other models that are known to be more friendly to left-handed shooters that I can test out in the future. Great place; a little on the older and smaller sides, but staff was extremely friendly, helpful, and attentive. I get the feeling that as I 'shop around' for my go-to range there's a strong chance I will gravitate back here, since these guys are passionate about what they do, and seem to want to inspire that passion in others. As expected for a weekend, there was a wait, but since we were off for the day, we didn't mind hanging out on the folding chairs in the retail section for 30 minutes. The staff is awesome--super friendly and easy to talk to--and the check-in was painless. While waiting, I noticed their optics prices are actually lower than most other shops in OC. I'll definitely be back when I'm ready to pick up another Holosun. The only real downside is their range rule: you have to reload your magazines at the shooting stall, not the back table. Because the space is tight, I couldn't reload while my friend was shooting. We ended up spending half our time just loading mags, which really cut into our actual trigger time. It's a solid spot and less expensive than other local ranges, so I'd come back alone, but I'll probably skip the "buddy trips" here since the reload rule makes it hard for two people to get their money's worth.
