I attended my first ever class with Aegis Authority today. I took their course today which was their women's basic handgun fundamentals. We started off instruction by class which moved towards the range. I had zero confidence going in, and left with an abundance of confidence. This is the second time I took their class. The first class was online for 1 day and in person at a gun range on the second day. The second class was a full day at a gun range. I signed up the class online, and the process is very simple and easy. Steve was helpful that he spoke with me on the phone and sent me the link to sign up the class that I wanted to take. He also sent out reminders of the class multiple times before the class, and thank you e-mails after the class. Classroom location is very convenient that is closed to the freeway. Plenty of parking spots were available. Steve is very knowledgeable. He made a lot of jokes throughout the day, which made his class very fun. We rarely had a boring moment. His explanation and instruction were very cleared. I enjoy his class a lot. I am planning to sign up for more classes from Steve in future. read more

Steve and Julie at Aegis Authority are incredibly knowledgeable about firearms, and I had a great experience taking several of their training classes. I learned a lot from them. In January 2025, I signed up myself and my two daughters for the Women's Self-Defense class. Unfortunately, on the day of the class, my car wouldn't start, and we were unable to attend. I immediately texted Julie to let her know, and we discussed the situation. She informed me that there would be no refund, but I could review their schedule and register for a future class. When I finally tried to do so, I received a call from Steve, who told me that no one had authorized the use of my payment as credit. Since my spots were confirmed for the January class and we didn't attend, they considered it a loss on their end. He referenced their cancellation policy, which states that missed classes are non-refundable. I explained that I understood their policy, but the situation was beyond my control--I physically couldn't start my car. Despite this, he insisted there was nothing he could do. As a result, I lost about $700 for circumstances entirely out of my hands. It's unfortunate that Steve made this decision, as I will not be returning for future classes or recommending Aegis Authority to others. As a business owner myself, I believe in accommodating clients when unexpected situations arise--because, at the end of the day, life happens. read more

I had to take 16hours course and was looking through the long list of authorized provider and wasn't sure which to go with and after going through couple of the providers website, I decided to go with Aegis because it provided good info. I was still a little afraid if it was going to be boring and having to sit there all day. Thank goodness it didn't feel that long cause the instructor had sense of humor and the class is really informative and helpful. The course helped me and felt like I learned a lot. Really liked how they had set everything up, very organized how the time is used, and informative info and stories that had our constant attention. I was comfortable to ask questions, even questions that may be a no brainer to others. Steve who has a really cool beard, the instructor is really a nice and fun guy. Julie, the other instructor is really warm and nice. They really bring a good energy to the class. Steve who I had text couple of times to ask questions about the class, he always replies every of my text on the same day, actually like right away. It's worth driving over an hour for me. The 2nd day of our class, was action time which I'm so new to all this and was a little nervous. Once I got into the range, I was able to relax and get things going with the help of the instructor. Instructions were always given clearly. I'm definitely going sign up for their other classes. Some people are comfortable with firearms and some just not and I believe Steve and Julie doesn't judge you and helpful with whatever level you may be. And they don't put you on the spot with questions. So glad found them and experienced all this so I know where I can go for classes now. read more
