I told my son I would make a couple different appointments and it would be his decision which Dojo he wanted to join. Our first and only appointment was with Red Dragon. He was extremely nervous, but Sensei Kira made him feel so comfortable. I really like the fact that they don't even bring up membership the first trial class. It's focused solely on the student. He was so excited, we went back the next day. I felt ZERO pressure to join and loved that everything is included in our monthly payment. No charge for belt testing, gear, or even tournaments. For my husband and I, that is a huge plus. We also got to choose which day of the month payment would come out. My son has been there a little over a month and loves every moment in class. Each Sensei and Senpai is absolutely amazing with the kids. I see a huge difference in the way my son carries himself. He's much more confident and practices in his room constantly. Master Kang's Taekwondo has created an environment where children are encouraged to grow not only physically, but also emotionally and socially. One of the things that stands out the most is the quality of the instructors. The teachers are patient, supportive, and genuinely invested in helping each child succeed. They have a great ability to connect with kids while still maintaining structure and discipline during class. The balance between fun and focus is something they manage very well. Classes are engaging and energetic, and the instructor does a great job keeping the children motivated and attentive from start to finish. We especially appreciate the way the program encourages students to support one another. Rather than creating a competitive atmosphere where kids feel pressured to outperform their peers, the instructors focus on building a community where students celebrate each other's accomplishments. When one child achieves something--whether it's mastering a new technique, completing a form, or earning a new belt--the other students are encouraged to cheer them on. His brand of "Strike-Based" Jiujitsu, by name alone drew me to seek him out over all other jiujitsu schools in the Inland Empire, as it emphasizes that jiujitsu is first and formost a Self-Defense art. With respect to his academy, I am pleased that there is a respectful attitude amongst his students exhibited to eachother and extended to new sign-ups like myself, there are virtually no ego's displayed or felt during live rolls, and the mats and facilities are up kept and cleaned daily. Another factor that struck me is that it is run by a family. The master and owner, Master Morales, is one international coach who brought his daughter to the World Championships as US National team member. Without thinking further, we chose this for my son! Due to the Masters' skills and perseverance to impart their knowledge to the community and young kids like my son, my son has improved a lot over the years. He started with Knockout in 2022 when he was 7 years old. Over the years, I've seen how my son improves and how much he has grown! He was fortunate as Master Morales offered for him to be a part of the team where he gets to compete locally and join out-of-states tournaments! It is an awesome feeling and experience that he gets to do this! He started competing last year and he is excited about getting medals, no matter what the color is! Knockout taught him to be competitive but know to accept losses and wins with poise and grace! At some point, I thought of having him quit TKD and try other things, but he loves it so much! I don't hear him saying it's boring, I don't want to go and negative stuff about it! He learned to love it naturally. One additional and important factor is Master Morales doesn't charge a lot!
