We enjoyed our meal at Riverhouse Bakery and enjoyed the ambiance. The good: Pecan cinnamon roll French toast was super yummy! It was sweet and buttery so I didn't even need to add syrup or butter to my French toast! Vegetable omelette was super yummy and we are super appreciative that the server was able to substitute potatoes and toast for squash due to Jon's dietary needs. The bad: They only serve drip coffee. We live in Sequim! They really need to step up their coffee game and offer lattes and expressos. I ordered OJ. They were out of OJ. Really? The ugly: My over easy eggs were UGLY.... Both eggs were broken and one was overcooked. So relieved they did good and replaced them with yummy over easy eggs. The other ugly (which caused the 4 star review) is how EXPENSIVE this restaurant is. Jon ordered a vegetarian omelette $18 plus $3 salsa plus $3 avocado plus $3 change of potato and toast to squash. Crab cake BLT was the Daily Feature and it exceeded my expectations. Everything was made from scratch and you could tell! Tons of crab and the bread was delicious. I wish I had paused to take a photo! Denise is the owner and she came out and made us feel most welcome and shared some insight as to what made her crab cakes so delicious (the best). The prime rib dip was one of the best we've had. Albacore tuna melt, was a big yes! Sarah our server was genuine and prompt with our needs. Can't wait to return here. My husband and I came here for breakfast and lived it. They are currently having a Hawaiian themed special for breakfast so I ordered the Loco Moco. It's a ground beef patty on a bed of rice with a fried egg on top and then smothered in brown gravy. What could be bad about that! Nothing! It was delicious! My husband had bfast special of eggs (perfectly cooked) and homestyle potatoes thick cut bacon and a side pancake (blueberry). He said the pancakes were melt in your mouth delicious. The staff was so friendly that this place feels like you are at a friend's house. We both had the medium roast coffee and it was very good ( I judge a bfast place by the coffee so this was a strong start) Would totally recommend this place. The Riverhouse Bakery and Bistro is warm and welcoming. They make an outstanding corned beef hash and the biscuits are to die for! They also make an excellent BLT, I order mine on toasted sourdough with avocado and a side of house made chips, which are delicious (and addicting). Tho I've yet to taste everything offered in the bakery cases, I can and will sing the praises of the carrot cake and cinnamon rolls. Brava, Riverhouse! read more

I had the biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs and potatoes. The biscuits were good, but the gravy was unlike any other sausage gravy I've had - it had chopped ham in it. It was very rich, too rich for me, did not feel well later that afternoon. The potatoes were soft and mushy, I tried a few and left the rest. Would not recommend this dish. We've eaten here a handful of times. The service is okay, ambiance is nice but no booths, bakery items are extremely sweet!!! The biscuits and gravy is greasy. I've had it twice thinking the 1st time it was greasy by mistake. Their food is mediocre and so is the presentation. Their roasted potatoes are lightly cooked/ still white and uncooked/ hard. I've had the Ruben sandwiches twice and only once was it good. The homemade chips are salty. We are definitely not coming back for a year in hopes this place gets better. Get down here for dinner! What a delightful and delicious meal we had at Riverhouse. The black cod was some of the best I've tasted. Nightly specials are what chef Denise likes. My wife loved the filet. Our friends had the chicken parmigiana and the NY strip steak. Very generous portions, so leave room for dessert. The carrot cake is Denise's treasure. Made from a 100 yr old recipe, it was very good. The staff is very attentive. The chef came out for a chat. Such a wonderful experience and may your future be a success. read more

We tried this restaurant for the first time in February when they offered prime rib. It was delicious and cooked perfectly. I had leftovers for days. The owner was pleasant to talk to and it is clear they have a great understanding of food and flavors. I'm looking forward to trying breakfast here. The only downside is that my husband could not get a refill of wine to save our lives. Plenty of water going around. I wish I'd taken pictures. :) read more

Tried Riverhouse for the first time with my kiddo this morning, and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed! And this will become my go to breakfast spot in sequim. I grade breakfast places on the quality of their biscuits and gravy, and most places claim to make homemade gravy and just use the gross white packet sauce, but Riverhouse absolutely knocked it out of the park with their sausage gravy. Like WOW! I myself can make a pretty mean biscuits and gravy meal, but even theirs kick my butt. Hands down the best biscuits and gravy on the Olympic peninsula, and possibly even the state. This place is a MUST try. Keep up the good work! Can't wait to bring the rest of my family in for a meal. You guys are going to become the #1 place in sequim for breakfast. read more

Love the gluten free bread, the wonderful breakfasts (especially French toast) but maybe my fav is the bread pudding. Shopping downtown or just happen to be in the area, stop for the bread pudding and coffee. The bread pudding is. " to die for". You will be smiling for the rest of the day, remembering it. read more

We've had lunch here a few times, but never breakfast. Lunch was excellent, and so it was not surprising that breakfast this morning was so good.. We appreciate that we can find quality, homemade food in Sequim. Portions are generous and I will be having my leftover veggie hash tomorrow, so all in all an excellent value. I am picky about my coffee and it was excellent, a choice between medium or dark roast. Definitely a good choice for diners that would like something other than a greasy diner. We arrive on a Saturday morning just after 9am. It wasn't too busy. We have a really great server. If I remember correctly, her name was Linda. She was very friendly and engaging. We ordered the Brioche French toast and a breakfast with eggs, bacon and potatoes. Everything was great! The prices are a little high, but that seems to be everywhere nowadays. The bacon was plentiful:) There is plenty of parking. I read other people reviews where the service wasn't so great. We ate here twice on our adventures in the PNW and loved our service both times. They food was tasty and filling, it was a chill quiet atmosphere, and the owner even let me use the restroom when we showed up on a day they were closed oops!!! So much more I wanted to try on the menu but the biscuits and gravy were out of this world, the Reuben was just right and proportional, and the pot roast melt was enough for two meals. Had the Ruben sandwich with chips. They seated us quickly. Gave us lots of time to make our choices. Sandwich was loaded with meat and sauerkraut. Just the right amount of dressing. Chips were crisp and crunchy. You have a variety of seating choices. I will definitely be back. I want to have something off their breakfast menu. Staff is friendly and engaging. Never again! Food is food. You can get breakfast anyplace. It's the other stuff that makes you go back. There was a waitress that we loved. She gave wonderful service and made us feel appreciated as customers. She has left, we found out, and I know why. The owner of this place is rude, thinks she can scold her customers because they don't follow her rules of behavior. We went in and it was only about half full. A sign at the door said to seat yourself at a clean table. We did that, but there were no utensils. So after the waiter brought us coffee and juice the owner came out to tell us we were not supposed to go get our own utensils.The waiter was so busy (only one), that he did not notice we needed utensils. This is not the customers fault! And to embarrass us in front of everyone in the place, is not the way to keep customers. So if you're wanting good breakfast and appreciation for your patronage, go to Oak Table! read more

They serve Essence coffee which is a locally roasted coffee, and also has a storefront of their own on Washington street. If the owner has a desire to boost their menu I would suggest a 1/2 lb. hamburger with lettuce, tomato, onion pickles and a house made burger sauce.
