The cheddar jalapeño sourdough bread is so delicious, I would call it heavenly both for taste and texture.

This review is specifically for the Pane d'Amore stall in the Port Angeles Saturday farmers market. We visited during a downpour and the stall, being in the area without a roof, had heavy plastic tarps covering all the pastries. We ended up getting two items on this visit: Cheese Stick ($2.75) - Chewy dough stick about a foot long. The dough seems to be rolled in cheddar cheese and then baked, giving distinct cheese nuggets randomly dispersed throughout. It has good cheese flavor, kind of tangy. Due to the rain, perhaps, all the crisp on the actual dough is gone, so it's just chewy throughout with no skin. (4/5) Cowboy Croissant ($2.75) - Tiny puck, less than three inches across - wish they offered bigger ones! Sharp cheddar, bacon with pesto. Great flavors that complement each other well. The croissant dough tastes a little on the sweet side. Good lamination. (4/5) Pane d'Amore serves some pretty good pastries. We actually planned on heading over to the Seqium location the following day, but didn't realize it was closed on Sundays. Oh well, there's always next time! read more

While eating lunch in Port Angeles we noticed the farmer market was going on across the street and that there was a vendor selling bread. Being in need of bread we went over for a look! The table full of delicious looking breads and treats! W settled on the last loaf of Grandmas deli loafit was big and delicious! Sadly it did not last long enough for a picture after making our purchase I spotted something that looked really good! I was told it is a Cowboy croissant with pesto, smoked Gouda, and bacon. Then he picked one up and gave it to me as to try! It was so delicious! We will probably have to get a half dozen or so the next time we have the opportunity! And the deli loaf for sure!! Let me tell you story about how Pane d'Amore, came into my life - My parents vacationed in Sequim for 2 weeks several years ago. They visited Pane d'Amore everyday on vacation, and have spoken about it ever since. Recently, I had an opportunity to visit the Seattle area and I kept thinking about this bakery. I made an official decision to commit to trying it out. After a long drive, I can confidently say that Pane d'Amore did not disappoint the "hype" that it received from my very foodie parents. I got two pastries and two loaves of bread. The pear and almond danish was one of the best danishes that I have had because the pear, frangipane, and toasted almonds paired so naturally. I picked this combination because I was curious about the texture but the toasted almonds add a nice crunch. The cinnamon twist was just as delicious due to its flaky lamination. I did not take a photo of the bread but they were so fresh (they must have been baked that morning). Tips for visiting- It is easy to miss Pan d'Amore if you aren't looking for it. There is a parking lot behind the shop off of the main road. Also, the walk-up window is very efficient so don't be deterred by a line. read more

I can only attest to the chocolate walnut cookie and brownie. This cookie was to die for. It was moist, chewy, chocolate forward. Everything a cookie should be! And it was flourless. It's a walk up artisan bakery with daily fresh bread. Also some frozen goods and fresh made baked goods. I don't live in the area. This is next to a coffee place and easy to overlook. read more

I was so excited to try this place because of the good reviews, but unfortunately the products are over priced, small in size and also did not taste fresh. We came in on a Monday morning. We tried the blueberry danish and the maple syrup scone. Both danish and scone were dense and lacked flavor. The products here are not cheap and when you pay with a card it asks for a tip which is really annoying. Tip jar on counter should be enough, but seems like a lot businesses not only want to charge high prices but also expect you to tip for just putting your dessert in a small bag and handing it to you. I bought some goodies from the Pane d'Amore booth at the Port Angeles Farmers Market today. I went to Pane d'Amore in Sequim in August, and they have the same products. Today I decided to try an orange poppy seed scone, oatmeal raisin cookie, and "Cowboy Croissant" (which has smoked cheese, spinach, and bacon), and back in August I had a jalapeño cheddar scone. They had two scones left when I got there, and when I got home, I realized that they had given me both but not charged me for the other one. They were closing up, and I guess they figured they'd give me the last one. Everything was really good. This scones weren't too dense for scones, the oatmeal raisin cookie was spiced well and made with golden raisins for a milder raisin flavor, and the smoked cheese in the Cowboy Croissant was incredibly flavorful. read more

We have driven by this place a couple of times, both of which ended with us distributing lesser bread to animals at the Olympic game farm outside of town. We finally had a chance to stop in and this is now become a place we will continue to frequent! It's located just off the main drag in Sequim, across from where the farmers market takes place.As we were leaving town, we decided to grab some bread for the weekend. We ended up with cranberry walnut and a fig anise loaves. While my reviews tend to be positive, it's rare that I will declare something the best that I've had over a given amount of time. I will say, without a doubt, that these are the best breads we have had in years! My better half is an absolute rock star at cooking and baking, hence my pear shape, and her exclusive goal at this point is to figure out how to make the fig anise bread...well that and keep the kids and me alive. We usually come to the stand on Saturdays and Ann is awesome She definitely understands the products, has good suggestions and is polite and professional. We really appreciate her! when I've asked about a product I'd not tried before, she's super at describing it. As a result, I have purchased many wonderful treats. I ordered pastries for Easter weekend on Friday morning. My family has been dealing with a medical emergency this week so I needed to not have to bake. When I went to pick up the order, the woman told me off for placing the order on Friday and not earlier. I don't understand why they took the order if it was against their policy. I also don't understand why I needed to be told off by the staff person as I am paying them. The pastries are good, not the best ever but quite good. It's just that now I don't have confidence in going to my local pastry shop and how I will be treated as I pay for pre-ordered goods. So if you haven't been to Pan d'amore in Port Townsend, you really should make a stop next time you head to the town of The Officer and the Gentleman, but for now....there is a way to get the wonderful products right here in Sequim! For those who remember, these fine baked goods are offered out of the old Taxi office that was then a restaurant for about a blink of an eye. The rumor is the area in front of this location that use to be a gas station is now owned by the city and is going to be a little park (or at least not any other business center). I guess it will be a sort of center of the town? Well either way, you will have a be able to enjoy spectacular chocolate croissants (they have ham and cheese croissants, as well as plain) and other fine baked goods. They also serve coffee, but you should really stop here for the amazing baguettes to take home for dinner. If you aren't there early enough, chances are they will be sold out of many things. I salute my fellow yelpers who all acknowledge the yumminess of this bakery. We actually came across them at the Saturday market up in Port Angeles and bought their hazelnut and cranberry loaf- wow! Amazing texture and still tasted fresh the next day :) The baker actually gave me a little of a discount on the loaf since the market was about done; a nice touch. Turns out the physical bakery was only a 10 min walk from our hotel so off we went the following morning and indulged in an almond shortbread cookie and fig newton; perfect balance of textures and not too sweet. The rye load we took to go was yet another winner. Sweet young lady at the counter too. These little spots are true treasures. read more

The gal who helped us was super sweet and efficient. The pastries were delicious and the little cozy shop couldn't be any cuter in down town Sequim. The problem for me which killed my appetite (and that is saying a lot since I absolutely crave sugar in the form of pastries) was that the kind woman was very sick and had a cold. Unfortunately people try to work through illnesses which is a huge mistake and should never happen esp. when food is involved. I myself have a busy life and cannot risk getting sick through germ transfer of food I am purchasing. I wish the management/ ownership created a better culture supporting a food safety environment. First time I was in this Sequim shop, I was so pleased to be waited on by someone nice as I had a horrible experience at the Pane d'Amore shop in Port Townsend with an incredibly rude worker. Went in today and ordered a cinnamon roll - so gooey it was leaking sugar syrup through the bag. A gentleman was in visiting the woman behind the counter suggested she put out some napkins for customers. She went on and on about how she was too busy to work on that right now and the girl last night should have done that instead of over ordering bread. Grumble, grumble, grumble. Thanks there grumpy.
