But for me, this review is about the coffee. The roast, the grind, the pressure, the balance, the crema, all of it worked. This was not just a decent cup from a cute cafe. This was careful coffee from people who know what they are doing. You can smell the roasting as soon as you open the door. That is usually a good sign, but it does not always translate into the cup. Here it does. We were especially grateful to find this place after a strange travel evening near Dungeness Spit when almost nothing seemed open and dinner ended up being a couple items from Walmart eaten in the car.
