My daughter came in from out of town, and we were going to visit a local park. We stopped at Moon's to grab a coffee and pastry. The place was clean and looked like it might be a nice . That ended with the cashier. I ordered a coffee and my daughter wanted a Macha tea. She asked if it was loose or from a bag, a pretty simple question. This was met with rolled eyes and an audible huff. She made our drinks and handed out the pastry. I asked her if it was possible to cut it, we were sharing. Again with the eye rolls. After it was cut she slapped it down on the counter. Now, I am local. I know where there are coffee stands were you are greeted, felt appreciated and thanked for your patronage. I've been here to eat 7 or 8 times and it is inconsistent. I love their spicy turkey sandwich and I ask for avocado to be added each time - I get charged $4 for it, and sometimes it's not there even though I was charged, sometimes it's very little avocado, sometimes it's an appropriate amount. The coffee is great, almond milk latte is my go-to and very good. Jalapeño cheddar bagels are very good, other bagels are not - bland and odd shaped/skinny, and too cakey/not the right texture for a true bagel. Cole slaw is very good most of the time, but again not consistent - tastes different on different days, sone days better than others. Morning glory muffins and chocolate zucchini muffins are a 5 each time. Staff sometimes super friendly with attention to detail - and sometimes aloof and distracted and not friendly / depends way too much on them with not enough focus on the customer experience. I so want to love this place, it was really needed after Farms Reach closed. What I can say is, you can do this - but you're not a reliable "go to" spot for me yet. The cafe is small BUT do not be turned away by this!! There's service here is a 10! I saw the server work her tail off at the register, making drinks, serving people dishes as they were ready all with a genuine smile. And their bakery is Top Notch! We had a Hawaiian Carrot cake and a sticky pecan bun ( its enough to share) I also ordered a hawaiian pulled pork plate lunch! Yum the pulled pork was cooked to perfection and so delicious. Be patient if you show up around lunch time they get busy and may be a line to get their favorite dishes. They also serve breakfast! Breakfast burrito, plates and biscuits and gravy!!! Been going to Moon's since it started out. Each time the food and service has been excellent. Great to see full time operation hours. Still miss Farm's Reach, but so nice to see a place serving good breakfast food in what has become kind of a wasteland for restaurants in the Hadlock, Irondale, Chimicum tri-city area. read more

My father found this place and they serve up the best pecan rolls! We've also had the carrot cake which was awesome as well. My dad will be a weekly customer for the rest of his life! I am going to try the cinnamon roll with cream cheese frosting next time. The bakery does not seem to have good outdoor signage yet so it was a little challenging to find. read more

You are on your way to being a great neighborhood cafe. We are semi-regulars and have some suggestions for improving. The baked goods are right on! Please improve your drip coffee...as my mother would say it's weak as dishwater...it should have some flavor and its the main reason I go out for breakfast. Finally, it would be wonderful if there were vegetarian options for a savory breakfast. Leaving the meat out of your breakfast burrito doesn't count. How about adding some spinach/mushrooms? Service was fast and friendly. Building is very cute and clean. I got the veggie sandwich and it was amazing! You can tell the ingredients are fresh- not like other places where the veggies on your sandwich are mushy from being out so long. I live all the way in Bremerton and am already trying to figure out my next trip up there for another veggie sandwich and to try some sweets! I can't recommend enough. read more

Not good. Wrap was stale and cold, deli meat was mid quality, and apparently asking for all the veggies on a wrap does not mean you actually get all the veggies. Person behind the counter seemed overwhelmed, got my order wrong, and when it came back out it had less meat and was sloppily wrapped. Let's just say this tasted like pre-made gas station food, and the ingredients are probably the same quality. One star for the nice selection of local beer, wine, and cider. read more

Stopped in after an appointment in Hadlock because I was really hungry and didn't want to fix anything when I got home. Had the veggie rollup and it was so good. Reminded me of the pita sandwich I used to get in Portland back in the '70's. Fresh veggies, hummus and avocado. I will go back just for that. read more
