Their drinks were excellently crafted - specifically I want to shout out the coconut golden chai for being so good it got me ...well, to write this review, really. I don't usually love chai but it was that good. Still, it wasn't the only good part: So was the coffee, and so were the sandwiches since we wanted something a little more filling than pastries. What a lovely coffee shop serving up friendly service and staff, yummy baked goods and delicious espresso drinks. I tried their Honey Lavender Latte with extra shots (hey, I am in lavender country) and it was fantastic. Prices on par with other coffee shops, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and I loved the giving tree... where you can donate the value of a cup of coffee/some food to someone(s) of your choosing. I was scanning the cards that you handwrite and loved them, particularly " a school bus driver", "someone recently laid off" and "someone from outside the US. Hurricane Coffee is always a highlight when visiting Sequim. We are crazy coffee people in my family and we all agree on this. The staff is friendly. There are some great little seating areas. This is not one of those sparse, modern, cold coffee shops. The little nooks and corners make cozy private spots to chat with a few of your friends. Cozy chairs, coffee tables, plants, you get the idea. The menu options are great without sending me into analysis paralysis. In summer I love the Happy Camper (a blackberry mocha, TRUST me) and in winter, the Orange Valencia White Mocha. I don't drink as many of the flavored drinks and mochas as I used to. I'm much more of a French press coffee person now, but it's worth the splurge when I am here. The food options are also nice because sometimes you need something with a little more substance. They have assorted sweet and savory pastries. Croissants, breakfast sandwiches, paninis, etc. The quality of these are excellent also. read more

What a lively local coffee shop in Sequim. Stopped here for a quick coffee fix before heading to the mountains. Loved the vibe of the place, filled with warm locals. We stayed back for 5 mins, picked a sticker and headed out. Bought their signature drinks- Hurricane Latte and Lavender latte- both tasted good. Place also serves ice cream, there were different flavors. They had few breakfast options too like oats and sandwiches. We stopped in on a Monday morning and it was mostly empty. Parking was found behind the building and a very short walk. Inside was nicely decorated and it was welcoming. We've been visiting Sequim for the last two days so we've been here twice. The baristas were very nice. We had a brown sugar mocha. So delicious! This place is still our favorite place to get a mocha! We also tried a piece of berry coffee cake which was good. It had lots of berries! The ice cream sure looks good. While visiting Sequim, Hurricane Coffee is a go-to coffee stop right on the Main Street. I like to visit only local shops when traveling. Hurricane Coffee seems to be get steady foot traffic, which I took as a sign to try it. I wasn't disappointed with my choice. Hurricane Coffee actually has coffee, pastries, and ice cream! This is a wide variety for all seasons. I ordered a seasonal flavor, raspberry mocha latte. This tasted just like a raspberry covered in dark chocolate. I was impressed with the flavor balance between espresso and flavor because it was not too sweet. I took a star off for two reasons. First, the selection pastry was not great. The lady in front of me was quite upset about the limited selection of croissants. I found interesting because less than 50 feet away is an amazing bakery, Pane d'Amore. The second reason is that there was very little seating inside. Almost every table, there was someone camped out with a book/laptop. On our Sequim Coffee and Cafe tour Hurricane Coffee Co was our absolute FAVORITE CAFE! It was so good we had to come one last time before we went to downtown Seattle. When you walk in, it's such a friendly and calm atmosphere, super clean, they have a donation tree. Anytime you donate you can write a little something on the card for who they're donating for. This was extremely heart warming especially because it's not something I often find especially at a cafe. During our visits we had the Honey Lavender Latte, Vanilla Brown Sugar Matcha, and the Happy Camper which was a raspberry mocha latte. All of these were sooooo good and we loved trying new lattes that we can't find at home. Their pastries are also soooooo good! The chocolate croissant took the cake though because it was addictingggg. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! read more

It could be a nice place to meet friends etc. IF ONLY the peace would not be disturbed by the baristas knocking the spent coffee out of the container. It is as loud as construction noise. There are rubberized knock boxes. Maybe it all has finally been addressed. I couldn't go there any more because of the noise. It has been over a year. Not a big deal for me as we were only passing through and they are not going to be friends. Coffee and pastries were great and that's what really mattered. I visited Hurricane Coffee twice--once yesterday, right at opening, and again this morning. Unfortunately, I had two very different experiences with the same drink, the Hurricane. Yesterday, when we came in right as they opened, we were greeted warmly by a friendly young lady with a septum piercing who made my Hurricane perfectly. It was delicious, and her service really made our morning start off on a great note. Shout out to her for doing such a great job! :) Because of that experience, we decided to return this morning around 7:30 AM, but unfortunately, we were disappointed. Today, a different staff member was working--an older woman with a heavier build, who did not greet us when we arrived. The Hurricane I ordered today tasted watered down, lacked the rich caramel flavor it had yesterday, and wasn't even filled up all the way, leaving an unreasonable amount of space at the top. The service felt inconsistent, and I really missed the quality and warmth I experienced during my first visit. We're visiting from out of town, and all the locals we've met have been so friendly, which is why the service we received today from this older barista didn't match the welcoming vibe we've experienced elsewhere. Other than the service, I really liked the variety of choices for drinks and pastries--they even have ice cream, which was cool. Also loved the atmosphere inside, it was warm, inviting, and aesthetic. I would definitely come back, but I just wish the lady who helped us today had been a bit nicer. read more

Anything from your delicious coffee, and espresso... to pink lotus drinks, tea, delicious bites, and even ice cream - Hurricane Coffee Company is an absolute gem and I am very grateful to have this small business out here on the Olympic Peninsula for my beverage cravings! This coffee shop is an absolute stand out if you're driving through Sequim, I recommend you stop in and grab something!! Best of all perhaps is the fact that they have a lovely gift tree where you can donate your money to whomever you deem (example "$6 for a single mom needing a small pick me up. Here in Sequim we have quite a few places to stop in and have a nice cup of coffee or spritzer and a pastry. When I first moved here in 2013 I tried Hurricane Coffee and said I would never be returning. The coffee was bad. A few years ago I went to the Dungeness River Nature Center and the day it turned out pretty cold. I was with my parents and my dad wanted to buy his coffee and though I was a little hesitant about drinking this particular establishment's product I decided to give them a second chance. I ordered for my parents and myself... For my mother I ordered a mocha which I believe was Dark Raspberry Mocha with a just a splash of raspberry. My dad ordered regular coffee and I ordered a Honey Lavender latte. You could have knocked me over with a feather the coffee was that good. Not sure they're really under new management but whatever they've did, it improves their coffee at least in my book. When I head over in the direction of West Washington Street and Sequim Avenue I make it a point to stop in and I haven't been disappointed since! read more

Staff was trying really hard not show how unfriendly they were but it was obvious. No smile. Impatient. Coffee and pastries were good though. Must be an off day. We stopped by here as "out-of-town" visitors and had a generally good experience, overall. I ordered an oat milk latte and can honestly say that it was one of the tastiest oat milk lattes I've ever had. Yum. My fiancé enjoyed his drink & breakfast sandwich and the vegan/GF peanut butter cookie was to die for. I would say that as far as food/drinks/environment goes, everything is top notch. The only critique I would offer is that the service of the staff is somewhat off-putting. I wouldn't say they are outright rude, just generally less receptive that one would wish. I thanked both staff members twice at the end of my interaction for our drinks/coffee and tipped nicely and elicited zero response from either of them. It just seemed weird. I left wondering if I had done something to offend them...but, ended up chalking it up to ''Maybe that's just how people in sequim are." Always our favorite place to come in Sequim for some great coffee, and some WiFi, which is sparse where we stay. We were in town for 5 days, and we came here at least 4 times, ok, maybe 5. Favorite on a hot day is the Hurricane iced latte, or the Honey iced latte, but order it half/less sweet, unless you like sweet drinks. Have tried several of the pastries and sandwiches which are all good. Their overnight oats have room for improvement, though; just taste like watery oats. But, friendly service, and comfortable seating inside and out. We will definitely be back next time we're in town! read more

Visited Sequim and stopped in for coffee and breakfast. The honey lavender latte was very smooth and tasty. The breakfast sandwiches were on oversized English muffins very good and much easier to bite into than regular muffins. One sausage and one with bacon. The eggs were perfect as well. We had an Almond croissant and a Lemon Blueberry scone for breakfast dessert. My only complaint was the croissant was not really tasty and more dry than necessary. The overnight oats were soupy and gross. Threw them out after one bite. The grilled cheese and breakfast sandwiches were nothing special and not worth the money. The espresso was not good either and even the vanilla's syrup didn't make it much better. If you want better coffee go up the street to Essence. read more
