The In Between, as the name says, is located between the first and second floor of the building. First floor is the entrance / ground level, and second floor is the main bar (Sirens). This is a nice speakeasy with plenty of seating so we were able to choose where we want to sit. We opted to sit at the bar and got the Divinus Serpens (tiki drink) and Slippery Slope (hot drink). The Divinus Serpens sounded enticing but it was a blended drink and it tasted watered down and strong at the same time. It lacked some flavor so I didn't really like it, but the presentation is good. When they say it's prepared with fire, I expected more than a tiny fire that you can't see since the drink was not filled all the way in the cup. The Slippery Slope is a rum and tea based cocktail that's pretty good and strong, but the presentation is lacking. The menu sounded more enticing than the actual drinks, based on a datapoint of 2 cocktails. We got some olives to-go so that we could catch the ferry back to Seattle in town, and I appreciated them preparing it quickly, and it is decent. Overall, this is a decent speakeasy in ambience and menu descriptions but lack a bit in flavor.

    Can you find this place?!

Good snacks and a great cocktail list. And the added bonuses of having to search to find it, and getting a little book of 200 classic cocktails to try (in repeat visits of course)! Must ask for the book (pst read the menu fully).

Very cute little cocktail bar with almost a speakeasy vibe. Located halfway up the stairs going to Sirens, it's easy to miss. When you step inside, it's pretty dark, and it feels like you have gone back in time to Prohibition era, with all the velvet upholstery and art deco lighting. For such a small place, the choice of alcohol is extensive and the bartender was excellent at his craft. Next time, I will have to try the food, but if it as good as the drinks, it will have earned 5 stars!

VoldeMalort and the liquor wall. They've got some amazing stuff up on those shelves..

Outstanding little cocktail lounge nestled into a legendary building on Water St. Our bartenders, Cameron and Areilla, were excellent - keeping pace with the crowd on a busy Friday night. My wife had multiple daiquiris with a variety of rums suggested by our bartenders, and I cycled through a mixture of their cocktail menu and scotch old fashioneds. All were exceptional. Cameron also managed to revive one of his old Malort-centric cocktails for me -- the VoldeMalort -- because my masochistic self can't say no to that vile liqueur. Shockingly, the cocktail was not only drinkable, but downright enjoyable! If you've ever tasted Malort, you know how freakin' hard it is to balance out that grapefruit/old gym sock taste in a mixed drink... so this is high praise for a bartender! We'll gladly come back here again the next time we're in Port Townsend!

    Looking at the menu

Tavia (hope I spelled that correctly) was out bartender. She made amazing drinks (highly recommend the sentient) she was welcoming, patient, and quick with the drinks. Thanks for the experience! The atmosphere of this bar is classic and comfortable. Beautiful decor, comfortable chairs and booths. 10/10 will be back!

The name is the location!! What a clever name for this lounge like bar. Friendly bartenders, swanky atmosphere, and delicious drinks(cocktails and mocktails)! I plan to come back to The In Between when visiting the area again.

a drink with a rubber duck in it

The guys running the bar know how to craft a cocktail. When you come here, and you should, order from their specialty cocktail menu. Or ask the server what's recommended. When I did, he asked me some questions about my taste (I don't like sweet drinks), he made me something called "squeaky clean", complete with a rubber ducky. It was terrific.

Beautiful, rich space. Walked in early on a Wednesday. Great service, customized cocktails and delicious snacks. We had trio dip and 4 custom " I like gin/vodka and bitter, not sweet " cocktails. Pleasantly surprised by the cost. Happy.

Great cocktails and chill atmosphere. Solid Negroni and Martinez. Also enjoyed the Mac and cheese, but the olives were the tits.

Fabulous people, impressive beverage selection, relaxed atmosphere. We'd come more often if there was a larger veggie/vegan food selection.

Yes, The In Between is 21 years and older only, but if your looking for a gastropub that is more family friendly go check out the new Tommyknocker's it's only a block away. Highly recommend that place for a bite and a beer.

We arrived into Port Townsend at 2:00pm and had an hour to kill before they opened. We got there…read moreright at 3:00pm and were seated immediately at a window seat in the bar for happy hour. We ordered several dishes which included the pimento spread with fried saltines, duck confit croquettes. potato and leek soup, oysters on the half shell and lastly, their house-made pasta which was mafaldine, a long strand with curly edges on both sides in with a sauce that was just exceptional. Our waitress, Jessica was so friendly and there was never a wait for our dishes. Overall a very splendid experience and will definitely go back when visiting Port Townsend again.

What a delightful and wonderful restaurant that I plan on returning too whenever I am in the area…read more The space is inviting with lots of natural light and the service is fantastic with the servers being attentive and helpful but not pushy. They are always making sure you have a clean dining space and fresh settings. The food is of course the star of the show though. We went during HH and tried a variety of small bites and every single one of them was delicious. The oysters were on point, the greens balanced, the croquettes and salmon dip were very flavorful but our favorite dish of the day was the biggest one and that was the house made pasta. The selection changes every day and on our day it had red sauce, red onion, and castelvetrano olives and it was so good that we ordered a second bowl! And we may not have needed a second bowl as it was a solid size but it was so good! The house red during HH was also nice and I tried a white port and tonic which was fun to try and refreshing. Definitely a destination stop whenever one is around Port Townsend!
