I tried the bear claw & just fell in love. There is just a little something extra that hook me (I think it's honey in the almond paste - but I can't be for sure). On my second trip in, I chatted up the owner and learned they have only open for 10 days, and are still getting the business up in running. I wished him the best and promised to return. I suggest you do too. And truth in advertising, I learned there is atleast one other bakery/pastry shop. But these folks would like to do production for local restaurants and coffee shops - hint

We ended up getting two items on this visit: Cheese Stick ($2.75) - Chewy dough stick about a foot long. The dough seems to be rolled in cheddar cheese and then baked, giving distinct cheese nuggets randomly dispersed throughout. It has good cheese flavor, kind of tangy. Due to the rain, perhaps, all the crisp on the actual dough is gone, so it's just chewy throughout with no skin. (4/5) Cowboy Croissant ($2.75) - Tiny puck, less than three inches across - wish they offered bigger ones! Sharp cheddar, bacon with pesto. Great flavors that complement each other well. The croissant dough tastes a little on the sweet side. Good lamination. (4/5) Pane d'Amore serves some pretty good pastries. We actually planned on heading over to the Seqium location the following day, but didn't realize it was closed on Sundays. Oh well, there's always next time!

The hand pies are the same difference as a turnover. They felt like love was a major ingredient in baking them. We shared the huge cookie later that day as a snack, and I couldn't eat my half, it was too much. My friend wolfed it down plus his half. Take it from someone who takes espresso a little too seriously: this place is outstanding…read more Other reviewers mention the pastries, lattes, atmosphere, and friendly service, and I believe them. But for me, this review is about the coffee. The roast, the grind, the pressure, the balance, the crema, all of it worked. This was not just a decent cup from a cute cafe. This was careful coffee from people who know what they are doing. You can smell the roasting as soon as you open the door. That is usually a good sign, but it does not always translate into the cup. Here it does. We were especially grateful to find this place after a strange travel evening near Dungeness Spit when almost nothing seemed open and dinner ended up being a couple items from Walmart eaten in the car. Then the next morning, here was this small cafe in Sequim producing coffee with more care than plenty of places in Los Angeles or San Francisco. Great service too. Friendly, quick, and professional.
