A good experience at River Falls considering the new changes everyone is having to endure because of the Corona situation. Finally, RI restaurants are able to offer 'dine-in', but outside! Reservations were required and we enjoyed a lunch, outside on their patio by the river. A beautiful day, great service and food, portions were very generous! TIP- When ordering, do take into consideration the fact that your silverware is made of plastic and some foods are particularly difficult to negotiate with plastic ware! You may not want to order a steak, unless you plan on bringing your own steak knife! I ordered the chicken dinner, and I got frustrated trying to cut my chicken as my knife did nothing but bend lol. Did a very nice job remodeling. Very large bar and plenty of booths along the windows plus plenty of tv's to watch sports. The food however was terrible. Ordered Rueben with a side of onion strings. Expected sliced corn beef with a slice of cheese on top topped with sauerkraut. Instead got would seemed to be chopped up canned corn beef mixed with a cheese wizz all oozing out of the bread as you tried to eat it. The onion strings were greasy cold small battered pieces of onions. If they don't improve the food River Falls is going to quickly fail once again. Wow! Returned after 15 years to discover this is the same wonderful restaurant. We went on Sunday, the only day they serve Ma Glockner's chicken. This is includes a half chicken with flavorful meat and crispy skin. Also a fresh side salad, fries or potato, and a large warm cinnamon roll. The reheat at home works well, important to know for such a large meal. And all for $12.99! That price in this day and age. Service is pleasant. The restaurant is really clean. Ok let me start by saying the view is amazing. The menu was huge with so many choices (almost too many). I ending up getting the filet with a side salad and baked potato, it was pretty good the Demi glaze could've had more flavor but it was still good. My boyfriend ordered the prime rib, the piece they gave him was mostly fat. We tried to get our waitresses attention to send back and she wasn't around. So he started to eat around the fat and it was COLD. Finally she walks by and just says ok I'll get you a new one. This place has the most amazing food. Did I say AMAZING? we sat outside along the river. We went for the Wednesday night special of 2 entrees with choice of soup/salad, 2 desserts and a choice of a bottle of wine or a pitcher of sangria. We don't really drink so they take $7 off the bill Rick had chicken lentil soup with jack daniel steak tips and a cannoli for dessert. His tips were perfectly cooked with a baked potato and fresh vegetable medley. The soup was a perfect blend of spices and not salty one bit. I have been a long time patron of this establishment. It's always been a good local spot to pop in and grab some drinks and dinner. Well I hate to say it but this place has went down hill! I understand COVID has affected the restaurant business but the last couple of experiences I have had here leaves me no choice but not to return. Stopped in for drink about a month ago, the place just seemed off. No vibe for a Friday night. Usually the wait staff is friendly but that was not the case this time. No big deal. I return a couple weeks later. Prior to me returning a friend told me about their horrible takeout experience that they had so I was a little worried but said "know what let's give it another chance." Well I should have listened to my gut and went somewhere else. I was with a friend. We ordered drinks and our food. We took note that none of the long time wait/bar staff were working there anymore .... Weird right? (The establishment recently switched owners) A salad came with my meal. And my friend ordered a side salad in addition to their meal. Their salad was slapped on the bar (by the buss boy who never even made eye contact) and I sat and waited for mine. Never received it. . . Food comes out, I ask if I was going to get my salad. The buss boy brings it out to me. Our server no where to be seen. My steak tips were over cooked and hardly warm. The risotto that I paid extra for was cold. . . Ok whatever. I can survive. My friend ordered the salmon. It was season-less and over cooked on the edges making it hard to even eat. . . But as they cut more into the center of fish they discovered the middle was RAW! The potato's were also obviously microwaved as well. We pushed out plates away and continued it sit for 20 mins until our sever finally asked us if we wanted boxes. We told her the food wasn't even edible in-house why would we bring it home?? She goes over and scrapes the food in the trash as the owner on his phone looks on. He makes no comment, the sever is visibly upset. When I say "don't waste your time and money," I'm not kidding. This was our first (and last) visit. Reservations were made for outdoor dining at 6 o'clock as it was a warm summer evening and the restaurant boasted river views. We waited for 3/4 of an hour before I went to the maitre d' to complain that the couple who was behind me were given menus when they were seated, and their drink order was being taken. We had not even received our menus yet. After returning to our table, the maitre d' brought menus to us. The waitress assigned to our table was very pleasant, and checked with us a few times while we reviewed the extensive menu. We finally ordered and then waited again for nearly an hour before our food arrived. One of my companions ordered broiled sea scallops, a garden salad and baked potato. My other companion ordered a rack of baby back ribs, which came with corn bread, and a side of broccoli. I had the strawberry chicken salad with candied pecans and goat cheese. The scallops were small bay scallop, not sea scallops, and were rubbery. The baked potato was clearly re-heated and tan inside. The ribs were mediocre, the cornbread soggy and sticky, and the broccoli stems were long and brown on the cut ends. While tender, the chicken in my salad was scant and flavorless. The strawberries were small pieces and few and far between. The few pecans were small pieces as was the goat cheese. All in all, it was a very disappointing experience in a poorly managed (non-ADA compliant) establishment. read more

What in the world happened to River Falls? although it was never a great restaurant, at least it was a consistently decent restaurant. Now it is about as bad as you can get! First clue that something was wrong should've been the fact that the bar was half empty; since on the weekends it's usually full. I can't fathom how, even with three bartenders working, it was almost 15 minutes to get a drink. And that wasn't just for us, that was for every person that came in after us. Not sure why it takes 45 minutes to get dinner after you order it,. Chicken Parmesan was the smallest piece of chicken you've ever seen, less than you would get on a sandwich at McDonald's. Served with fettuccine Alfredo?!! You mean egg noodles with some weird horrendous white sauce? Plus, the soup that used to come with the meal, now it's six dollars extra, for the same tiny little cup In addition, remember the menu here, it used to be eight pages long, now it's one page front and back, At least they were able to raise the prices 30 to 40%, with the printing of the new menu One would think with a lot less items to cook they could do a lot better job cooking the ones that they actually have. Don't worry about saving room, you won't want to eat any of the crappy, frozen, store-bought desserts that they sell. I've known about this restaurant from years as I live fairly close by. My husband and I were looking for a place to take our 3 year old son and the reviews looked good. Upon arriving, I immediately noticed it was super clean and smelled delicious. I then noticed there were fall candles placed around the bar, which made the space very cozy and inviting. The service was great and the waitress was very attentive. I ordered the blackened chicken club which was delicious and came out quickly. My husband got a salad and the chowder which he said was good as well. My son got ziti and meatballs which was a very generous portion. I can't wait to tell people about this place. We were off to a food start, followed by their salad which according to Elaine from Seinfeld was a"big salad", also delicious. Ended the meal with bacon burgers, yum. It was a late lunch early dinner at River Falls in Woonsocket. We had been here before and hoped to sit outside again, but there was no outside seating today - a beautiful day. We were greeted by a hostess who really didn't want to be there, her enthusiasm was totally underwhelming. We passed many empty booths as she led us to the very back of the dark restaurant (others were seated there as well) to a dirty table, which we moved from and sat at another. The menu was large, a variety of apps, salads, burgers and sandwiches, as well as seafood and other Italian entrees. They also had fall specials posted within the menu. Our waitress was cheery, big difference from our first impression. I had a Butternut and Asparagus Risotto; it was good and it was filling. For an extra charge I could have chicken or shrimp, but I had it as it was. It was good and creamy. The vegetables were not overcooked or mushy- a nice surprise. What I never thought about till later was the mix of a winter and spring veg! The only down for me was it had onions- which I don't like, so I had to pick them out. I wish the menu description said it had onions... I would have ordered something else. Hubby had a Blackened chicken sandwich with caramelized onions, roasted red peppers and Provolone cheese on a foccaccia roll. He enjoyed it along with the steak fries. Not sure about coming back anytime soon, but maybe when they have outdoor seating again. Outside, there is a huge bar and a gorgeous view of the raging river. I love the restaurant. Service is usually great and on point. Management is awesome. The new bar style is unique and cool. Bartenders on slow days don't scan the bar as they should but they are getting better. The original menu was mostly great. (Don't try the meatloaf) you will be disappointed. Basically a smash burger with seasoning, smothered in bbq and onions strings to make it look big. Since the menu changed for the summer, the food has been terrible. Whether it's an undereducated cooking staff or bad menu design. Overall recent experience is terrible. Drinks have always been way overpriced but they were tasty. Now we pay the same price for what seems like barely a splash of alcohol in a mixed drink. If a shot costs more than a mixed drink I know there is no alcohol in my drink ‍ Bottom line. Don't charge high quality prices for low quality food and beverage. I will go next door and get at least close to what I pay for. And better quality read more

So a couple friends of mine and I went out to eat.. I have been to River falls restaurant in the past but it's been many years. The menu can be a bit overwhelming!! But not in a bad way at all they have a bunch of specials on the wall behind the bar.. And their menu is pretty well rounded I must say and their food is freaking good like REALLY good! The steak tips were Awesome, I had the fish and chips. All of it was very good I love their tartar sauce it's different cuz it's all ground up but I love it! I like their coleslaw. The french fries were just perfect! Exceptionally good and not all soggy and Nasty. I do recommend that they maybe get some malt vinegar for the french fries though oh my gosh it would have been heavenly maybe they do have it I just didn't ask but I will ask next time if you guys don't have it you should get it.!!! We also had some Buffalo wings, they were cooked and sauced perfectly.. They make some good drinks. You tell him what you like in a drink they will accommodate you and give you good recommendations . It's a cute little spot with patio seating right on the river. Our waiter was an older gentleman he was very charming and the service was good. The food falls flat though. We got calamari and arancini balls for appetizers which are not pictured I forgot oops LOL. The arancinis were tiny and I'm pretty sure the kind you buy at BJs. Anytime I've ordered them at a restaurant they have been homemade and you can tell the difference. My husband and my friends husband got the steak tips and salmon which they both said we're good, I think if you go here you have to stick to basic dishes. My friend got the linguine and clams, she said it was just OK. The reason I had to give three stars was I was really disappointed with my meal. I got the lobster ravioli which they posted to be 10 stuffed homemade ravioli. $25 dish so not cheap. When I tell you that I think I literally was eating pasta sheets folded into triangles with the most scant amount of cheese and I really tasted no lobster whatsoever nor did I see any. They were the worst poorly made lobster ravioli that I have ever had and for a $25 dish extremely disappointing. The menu here is extremely large, I think they would be better off narrowing it down a little bit and making sure that the dishes they have are executed better. read more

Late posting from dining here July 9. We arrived with our friend who uses a cane and has a service dog for outside seating. We were brought to the very last outdoor table possible, passing by several tables that would only have had to be cleaned. Where the end tables are feel isolated and grimy but we were happy to be together and outdoors. At the beginning of our meal we saw an employee come outside and sit under a tree to smoke and there was a dog tied with him. Towards the end of the meal, I looked up and saw a dog RUNNING toward us and just as fast, he was at our table and it first jumped up and put its nose into my salmon and then jumped down and started attacking the service dog. A female in a RF uniform had been chancing behind the dog calling it, and assisted us to get the dog away from ours. It was a terrifying experience especially since I have been attacked by a dog in the past. My friends older therapy dog was rattled as well as the rest of us! The waitress ran over to apologize, explaining that the employee also is a renter upstairs. She took my salmon and made me a new dish, which I asked to take home. We were a offered a desert, which is so insulting and we actually just wanted to leave the restaurant and the situation. Afterwards, the salmon in fact never made it out of the car and we were unpleasantly reminded the next day of its existence when we used the car again:( No manager ever came out, called or followed up in anyway to see how we were or how our dog was. The lack of common sense by the hostess and lack of motivation to make the end tables more appropriate and appealing and even the ok food for the cost would have been overlooked if not for the attack on the dog (and our food) and the blatant disregard for such a shocking experience. Riverfalls is one of the only reasons to go into Woonsocket. They offer weekly specials, beer and burger for ten bucks at the bar on Tuesdays. All you can eat ribs on Thursdays. I miss their all you can eat shrimp, I wish they'd bring that and half price drinks on Thursday night's back. Food is always tasty and service is almost always on point. Greg is great at his job, as well as funny and quick. We come here 6+ people on lots of holidays and it's always so organized. Keep an eye on your bill they do forced 20% gratuity. read more

The best way I can sum up River Falls is with one word: Frustrating. This restaurant has the potential to be very good, if not great. The real problem here is the management, and let me explain why. When you walk in, you're met with a gorgeous little restaurant, with trendy exposed pipes and a huge bar with an excellent selection. There is ample seating, and plenty of parking across the street in the free public lot. The restaurant also allows for reservations online, which is a nice touch. The food is standard Steakhouse fare, and everything I've eaten in my 6-7 visits has been solid. As I mentioned, the reason for my 2 star rating is because of the management. I don't mean that folks are rude - not at all! I just feel that the management here is lazy, and here are several reasons why: 1) The menu. The menu is pretty confusing, both from an organizational standpoint and a pricing standpoint. I have attached some pictures as an example. The menu says "Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad" for $7.99. But then you have to add chicken for $9.99? And then when you get charged, it's actually $10.99! How does any of this make sense? If the salad does not come with grilled chicken, don't call it a grilled chicken Caesar salad, just call it a Caesar salad. There are also entire PAGES of items that are only available 1 day a week, which makes their menu appear larger than it really is. 2) The seating. Every single time I have been to River Falls, the first few booths to the right (closest to the door) are empty, despite people standing in a cramped waiting area hoping to be sat. I very much understand that these booths are likely reserved, but I have never -repeat - NEVER seen anyone sitting here. This is an EXTREMELY bad look to customers. I have heard many people gripe "I see open seats..." as they stand and wait for 30-40 mins. Again, it's just a bad look to your customers. If you have to leave a few booths open, make them in the back where they are less likely to be noticed. 3) The lack of signage. There is another "side" entrance to the back of the restaurant, which is very confusing. On my first visit about a year ago, we entered in this door and waited by the hostess station for 10-15 minutes before a server just happened to walk by us and explain that we were at the wrong entrance. A simple sign saying "next door" is all that is needed, but the management is too lazy to do something like this. Just the other night when I was there waiting out front, I saw a foursome go through the same exact thing, and they eventually made their way to the "correct" entrance, muttering under their breath. With some simple signage, a clearer menu, and hiring another server or two, I think this could easily be a 4 star review. Alas, I am forced to give two stars only, due to lazy management. You won't hate River Falls by any means, but don't expect a fantastic night out here. read more

Wanted to like this place but was so disappointed. I will say the waitstaff was very friendly and attentive. We went for dinner on a Friday night before a show at Stadium Theatre. Place was not busy we should of took that as a sign. My husband order the hot chicken, it was dry and minus the hot honey taste. I ordered steak tips med rare seems to be simple, it was cooked well done and everything was bland. Waitress realized immediately after I cut into it and took it back, ordered a Caesar salad to be easy hoping it would come out before my husband finished eating. He finished and watched me eat my salad. You would think a manger/owner would come and at least acknowledge that a mistake was made but nothing. The waitress was terrible...we waited 30 minutes to order she was not familiar with the menu and once we ordered we waited another 15 minutes for our drinks...never brought our salads until our entrees came out..Eggplant was gross, burnt rubber and pasta over done...we couldn't eat our dinner..waitress never came back to check on our food..we left $$ as we waited for our dessert but again waitress a no show What a shame it has a real nice atmosphere with the outdoor seating but unfortunately that's all they have to offer read more
