Soup from the salad bar - A bowl of beef and pasta soup with vegetables is placed on a decorative saucer on a wooden table, with glasses and utensils nearby.

Love the setting and ambience inside. Get here early as it fills up fast and tables are tight once full. We arrived at 4:30 on a Saturday night - Service was slow tonight-waited 30mins for our appetizer pizza to come out. Our main pasta entrees had good flavor profiles but could have had more rigatoni in that dish.

A grilled panini sandwich with grill marks, served with French fries and sliced pickles on a white plate.

Overall atmosphere is pretty causal no need to dress up, I think a pair of jeans is perfect! The Buddy Cianci panini is great, the bread is crispy and thin! And the fries that accompany the sandwich are always delicious! The rigatoni bolognese was super flavorful and the portion was very generous! Can always rely on Savini's for a good meal, will return and recommend to anyone!

Wow!!! Took a chance on this place and so glad I did. How have I not been here before?! Cute decor and a fabulous playlist, but I digress ... THE FOOD. Omg!! My shrimp Scampi Alfredo was AMAZING. Decadent, delicious, layers of flavor that made me groan with each bite. Hubby had veal parm that he loved so much, he suggested we make this locale a weekly thing, something he NEVER suggests. That's big. Service was spectacular, our unsweetened iced teas weren't canned, and we got to play Keno. I can't rave enough about this place. Do NOT make my Tuesday night a wait!

Chicken parm - A close-up image of chicken parmesan topped with marinara sauce, showing breaded chicken and tomato sauce.

We spent $90 for 4 meals for take-out, a rare treat for my family. The chicken parm was burned and flavorless, the egg plant parm was two thick mushy pieces, again flavorless mush, the ziti was so over cooked it fell apart when you tried to lift it up with fork. The bolognese was a dark, burned zesty old sauce. The food seemed like it was pre-made a week ago and reheated. Appalling that an Italian restaurant of all places would have a chicken and eggplant parm so bad, a non-Italian restaurant does a better job. They need to hang it up and sell this place, why even bother when you are putting crap food out and charging high prices for it to boot. We can't finish our meals it is so disgusting. Really I can't even imagine how bad things are there if so little care is put into the food I can only imagine what the kitchen is like. DISGUSTING!!!

Roasted pepper and artichoke pizza, sausage meatball an ricotta cheese. Hot fresh and delicious with a crispy crust.

Stumbled on this place and my wife and I couldn't be happier. Federal Hill worthy IMO. Great apps, chix parm, service, etc. Check it out.

I've been dying to try this restaurant after seeing reviews and finding out it's chef owned (yes!)…read more We had reservations on a recent Saturday afternoon at 3pm. The restaurant is small (only seats 48) so reservations are recommended. The restaurant is cozy and comfortable, there wasn't very many people while we were there so I'm not sure how loud it gets when busy. They have a full bar so I ordered a drink and my husband loves his craft beers and they had a few (but he always prefers if they have a beer menu so he can read the beer description). For appetizers we ordered shrimp cocktail and the meatball. The shrimp and sauce were delicious, and the meatball was HUGE (we almost could have a meal with that!!! The meatball came with lots of sauce and ricotta with 2 toasted bread slices (we devoured every bit!). For dinner we shared 2 entrees, we got the seafood casserole which came with choice of side (we picked baked potato) and a vegetable medley, and the southern fried pork chops that came with mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts. The food was so delicious we ate what we could and had to bring food home. Our server was excellent and very knowledgeable of the menu. This was one of the best places we've tried in a while. We eat out at least weekly and most places we don't go back for a second visit, but Lucky Dog Tavern will definitely stay on our rotation of places we love.

Recently I became somewhat of a regular because the food and the service here is impeccable. Tonight, critically acclaimed server turned bartender Lilly, suggested that I try to Sausage and Bean Soup. Not only does she rank amongst the top three servers I have ever had in my entire life but she was 100% right about the Sausage and Bean soup. Get your car drive to Lucky Dog Tavern and all the time you're on your way there cross your fingers that the Sausage and Bean Soup is on the menu. It was beyond excellent. Just a giant mouthful of flavors expertly orchestrated. Otherwise, It's a gigantic gigantic menu but if the Sausage & Bean Soup is on the special absolutely have it. Take one home with you too. Before I forget to tell you everything on the menu is pretty excellent. But, Just for the record, I skipped over the lasagna. Have I ever lied to you!?

I've eaten here 3 times now and each time I thought it was really good. It's certainly good enough to warrant its own page on Yelp :) There's no dining room, but you can take your food to the outdoor bar and enjoy it there. The pizza crust isn't like anything else in this area and reminds me of the old Twins where the cheese and sauce go right to the end without that 1/2" of plain dough edge. The large pies are square and the small pies are round but have identical crust and flavor. The pepperoni is cooked to absolute perfection complete with cupping and charring if that's your thing; and it certainly is mine. The chicken parm is adequately portioned/meaty and the fries are decent although I prefer some skins on mine. I can't speak to the fried clams etc because I don't eat that stuff, but my understanding is that it's the same as what Lindy's serves. I'm not sure if it's always the same person that answers the phone and retrieves your order, but I've had the same one all three times and she is friendly, enthusiastic and helpful. To me there's nothing worse than calling a place that does only takeout and the person on the other end being cold and unreceptive. Every now and then I might crave a neopolitan or Greek pie and will patronize another spot, but this is definitely our new go-to joint for pizza in this area!

We also ordered 3 appetizers- baked feta, mozzarella en carrozza , and arancini balls. All of the food was pretty good. I would say that my dish wasn't particularly hot, just warm, which was kind of upsetting. Also, our server was very kind, but she seemed to disappear for a long amount of time in between us sitting, ordering drinks, ordering and receiving appetizers, and (finally) ordering dinner. We were having a good time, so maybe that's why she took a step back... but it did take us over an hour to get our meal order in. Overall, a nice spot. It was a Sunday afternoon; a special dinner offer for a three course meal was offered for a reasonable price. Our server, Margo, was very friendly and attended to our needs throughout our meal. She quickly served water and appealing bread with olive oil and condiments. The ambiance in the restaurant was lovely in the rich deep green Rakeville room with a lit fireplace. It was, however, slightly difficult to hear in our seated location as we were adjacent to the bar which was quite busy. We hope to be able to dine in the Bartlett room in the future. Regarding our dining experience, we began with the fried zucchini appetizer served with a side of tzatzikias dip to share and it was scrumptious! Regarding entree selection, Hubby loved his rich tasting Harvest ravioli - stuffed with goat cheese, caramelized onions, sweet butternut squash, tossed in a creamy garlic sauce and topped with perfectly grilled chicken. I actually wanted that entree but we had decided to try two different entrees. I chose the steak tips a la Mama which were fine but not compared to the ravioli dish. Some of the steak tips were a bit difficult to cut, but the mashed potatoes and roasted zucchini were very good. The included desserts of NY style cheese cake served with whipped cream and strawberries as well as the flourless chocolate torte, each of which were accompanied with whipped cream and strawberries were a very sweet ending! We will look forward to returning and perhaps dine in the Bartlett room if available.
