First time here and it was for a function in their back room the function room itself was a decent size and felt private which was nice. Overall the atmosphere was good. The food was great and portions were HUGE! Definitely able to share mains. Love the soup and salad bar!! The wait staff was nice, one waitress wasn't the best forgetting multiple times what we had asked for and she was getting upset by the kids in the room, but otherwise everyone else was great. Old school RI feels all up in Savini's. Love that feeling. But it fell flat. First off, this place is very close to Stadium and yes we were headed to a show. we had a reservation for 10 people. Our waited was a pretty nice guy. Young, energetic and comical. He rolled with our punches. Unfortunately we found the service to be slow and I think it had more to do with the kitchen as the waited was attentive. The salad bar was a little pathetic looking. I LOVE a salad bar but I just couldn't pull myself to move in that direction based off of looks. The guys I was with thought the low bar looking like the place to be and were intrigued by it. What I mean by low bar is there are two bars. One in the main dining area and another off to itself and recessed in. I had bruschetta and chicken parm. Overall atmosphere is pretty causal no need to dress up, I think a pair of jeans is perfect! The Buddy Cianci panini is great, the bread is crispy and thin! Would have given a 1 star but the service and chicken was good. We were served 3 rum cokes and a Shirley Temple in PLASTIC CUPS for 34 BUCKS! We looked at the bar tender and said, "Is there a mistake" to which She replied, "I'm so sorry, I know it's way overpriced". She was sweet and we carried on and didn't go for a second, third or fourth round. I reached out to the restaurant via their website and told them it was outrageous that people who are paying 11 dollars for a rum coke shouldn't be getting them in plastic cups. I understand if it was out on the patio due to broken glass, but I was so disappointed. What disappointed me MORE was the email response from some child claiming to be a representative of the company. He was so unprofessional and disrespectful. His response was riddled with mispelled words and just overall elementary grammar, like first grade . I cannot believe that the company allows themselves to be represented by a tyrant bully who tells his loyal icustomers to contact "your government" and "meet up with me" and I hear your a so and so. We had a mid afternoon lunch in the main dining room on Easter. The first waiter who came to our table (very nice guy can't remember his name) took our drink orders and then he told us Robin was going to take over. Well she is very nice however VERY slow! It took almost 20 minutes before we got our drinks and we could see them sitting on the bar! Then she took our order which included an appetizer of stuffed mushrooms. She then disappeared for a long time and we could see her in the back room setting up tables for a large group. She did not come by at all and we finally got our appetizer 30 minutes later. Then we waited for our main course. Again she was in the back room and did not come by to check on us. Eventually the first waiter we had did come by to see if we needed anything. He was very attentive and was handling most of the tables. Food was very good when we got it. Our question is why was Robin the server spending her time setting up for a new party? That should be handled by the bus boys/runners. She needs to work on her time management and make sure she is prioritizing her customers. read more

We have been here a few times. Haven't had an issue until this evening. First we walked in and stood for at least 5 minutes before I said do we just seat ourselves and a waitress seated us. Meanwhile many staff chit chatting right in sight of us. Finally seated, and BTW the tables were pretty much empty except for a group of 8 and the bar was full. We finally ordered an appetizer and our meal. 45 minutes later the appetizer came out, Really??! 45 mins!! For stuffed mushrooms! My husband order a beer which took a long time to come I would say that if this place was actually really busy table wise and there was only 1 waitress than this could be an excuse. Better Since Remodel Well let's start by saying since the remodel and removal of the old carpeting the place doesn't smell like feet anymore. We attended a funeral reception recently and had the family style menu. We started with the salad and the dressing was pretty good. Great toasted bread. We next had pasta which was way overcooked. The sauce was okay, but overall not very good. The family style chicken was good and the French fries were okay. The best part of the visit was the service. The staff they have working the floor are great. Really hard workers. They could use a better bar system though, getting a bottle of beer took 10 minutes each time. Wow!!! Took a chance on this place and so glad I did. How have I not been here before?! Cute decor and a fabulous playlist, but I digress ... THE FOOD. Omg!! My shrimp Scampi Alfredo was AMAZING. Decadent, delicious, layers of flavor that made me groan with each bite. Hubby had veal parm that he loved so much, he suggested we make this locale a weekly thing, something he NEVER suggests. We spent $90 for 4 meals for take-out, a rare treat for my family. The chicken parm was burned and flavorless, the egg plant parm was two thick mushy pieces, again flavorless mush, the ziti was so over cooked it fell apart when you tried to lift it up with fork. The bolognese was a dark, burned zesty old sauce. The food seemed like it was pre-made a week ago and reheated. Appalling that an Italian restaurant of all places would have a chicken and eggplant parm so bad, a non-Italian restaurant does a better job. They need to hang it up and sell this place, why even bother when you are putting crap food out and charging high prices for it to boot. We can't finish our meals it is so disgusting. Today is the beginning of Rhode Island food fights pizza challenge. We were in the northern part of the state so decided to try Savini's We had never heard of the place nor knew where it was. Stopped in, the restaurant is so cute.Staff is very friendly. We tried the parmesan chicken tenders they were delicious. We ate them before we had a taken picture. We shared 2 medium pizzas(3 of us). Our pizza coupon entitled as to a free cheese pizza. Just had to pay extra for additional toppings. Very reasonable. We ordered one with roasted peppers and artichokes and the other had sausage meatballs and rigotta cheese.. Pizzas were a very good size in were absolutely delicious. Sat at the bar on Friday night. Restaurant was very quiet at 7:30PM . Bartender pointed out the addition of Soup and Salad bar to any entree for $2.99. Ordered eggplant parm and pasta (safe). Would have given 4 stars because the food is consistently delicious. However, I will never go back on an early Sunday afternoon because with the brunch room open upstairs, all I heard were kids continuously running back and forth. Lastly, to management, whatever music was playing downstairs today, please stop, it was depressing and off-putting. Next time I contemplate dining downstairs, I will make sure that soundtrack is not playing. I would rather not hear any music than depressing music, it does detract from overall dining experience. We had never been before and if we went on past comments we would have missed this gem!! Nice ambiance with two large bars as well as booth and table seating but this is not a dive my friends, not at all! It has obviously been renovated and there is definitely a great chef in the kitchen. There was a slight wait for food but no more than any other finer dining location and WELL worth it!
