I was very disappointed that you can't get the pizza or calzone for dine in dinners. But that being said we sat outside, it was covered and very pleasant, it was quiet and we had a nice breeze. Our waitress was very inattentive and almost rude at first, she had a bunch of tables so I kinda understood until I heard her at all other tables and they way she talked to them, she was nicer later on but never asked for refills on my wine, or even how the food was. The food was okay, not outstanding just okay the bread they give was warm and delicious though. The dessert was okay, they make it look pretty but you can tell it's all premade, and they should throw in a little whipped cream. I think I'll stick to take out from here.

We stumbled upon this restaurant when we dropped off our son at college. It's a cute cafe with outdoor seating as well as indoor seating. The outdoor seating is inviting and beautiful. The food was fresh and delicious as well as reasonably priced! Our waitress was super friendly and attentive. We loved the food and service so much that we went back twice!

Is the chicken parm thin and crispy?

The chicken parm is our favorite dish. The chicken is not thin it is a pretty good size breast and the breading isn't crispy. The portion is large and there marinara sauce is amazing !

We made a quick stop at La Familia after spending the afternoon at Jane D'Amico Playground, and it was hands down the best decision we made. Everything about our visit was phenomenal: Food: I ordered the mussels in white wine sauce. My son got the chicken parm, and he hasn't stopped raving about it. It was, by far, the most comforting and delicious meal we've had in a long time. Hospitality: The staff here is unmatched. A special shout-out to the hostess, Noelle, who was absolute gold! She went above and beyond by bringing my son paper so he could draw while we waited. Speaking of waiting... the food came out super fast! Bonus: They do NOT play around with their bread portions. Big, fresh, WARM, and generous. You gotta love a place that knows the key to a happy heart is extra bread. We left feeling so grateful, full, and taken care of. La Familia is officially going to be our mandatory post-playground pit stop from now on.

The sweet, smoky flavor, mustardy goodness isn't something I've found done as well anywhere else. And the fish itself was cooked perfectly. They paired the fish with the heartiness of the harvest grain side dish you see pictured. It was a huge serving, and I ate the whole thing because it was amaaaazing. My waitress was lovely and efficient, and I also didn't feel rushed. What made it a four star experience rather than 5 stars for me was the ambiance. The music was horrible--like 1980's big hair band type music. It was such a bizarre contrast to the rest of the upscale ambiance, which looked & felt more like a steakhouse. To my chagrin, it wasn't just one "off" song either...the awful selections kept coming throughout the meal. The music gave it more of a dive bar vibe, and it was so completely offputting that I left sooner than I otherwise would have. It honestly gives me pause when I think about coming again. And that's a real shame because I'd like to bring others here to share the amazing eats. I may try it again on another day. But if the music is the same, I'll be walking right back out the door.

The crab cakes did not have much flavor in my humble opinion and would pass on them in the future. We also had a bottle of Hall cabernet sauvignon which was 2x + $10 over the normal retail price. It's a nice wine. For our main course we shared the 20 oz bone in ribeye medium rare with a side of the risotto. I thought the portion size of the risotto pretty small for the price. The steak was very good. It came on a plate and was not cut, bone still on. The steak knives on the table were pretty much useless. It felt like trying to cut it with a butter knife and definitely needed a better knife for the job. My partner ordered tiramisu for dessert, I didn't try it but she said it was good.

We sat at the bar and the bartender was great fun. Service here is top notch. I ordered a coffee with milk and she brought steamed milked. Nice. The menu is limited and still has a good selection. A few salad options, seafood, pastas, lots of appetizers. Focaccia was brought out with oil. This bread is soft with a tasty garlic salt topping that really pops. At the bottom of the basket, under the focaccia, are house made potato chips! That's a tasty surprise. We began with an assortment of apps and salads. The Burrata comes with prosciutto, which sadly makes me ill, and they nicely put that part of the dish into a separate plate so I could share. The burrata is creamy and smooth. With the toast points and fresh, crisp heirloom tomato this is a lovely starter just right for four people. Their Caesar salad comes with a mix of greens and is smothered in good grated cheese. I chose the arugula salad which is a mound of dresses greens, again, smothered in a good grated cheese. Their pasta is cooked al dente. Well done kitchen. And the Bolognese got a high score from my cook friend who makes their own. I went with a burger which got excellent reviews from people we know and our bartender seconded their opinion. Both the burger and the truffle fries that accompany it, had waaaaayyyy too much salt on them. Another of my dining companions said their meal was also over salted so whoever was cooking that day was heavy handed with the salt. Between the Burrata and salad, I wasn't overly hungry, but I was looking forward to a really good burger and I was instead very disappointed. I ate half the burger and one fry. The ladies room, located down a hallway, sort of behind the kitchen, is absolutely lovely with full stall doors and flowers by the sinks. So much attention to detail. Their parking is shared with the entire shopping area so plan to walk a bit from the parking lot. There are a few handicap spots out front if you can get one. All together the meal was no more than the pizza place across the street and the food here is far superior so definitely worth it. Service is excellent, food is quality, presentation is beautiful. The restaurant itself is elegant and relaxed. Very much like restaurants in Italy.

First, the positive: our server was outstanding. He was friendly, attentive, and genuinely apologetic throughout the evening. I know his name, but I'm intentionally not including it here because I don't want any negative attention or pushback directed at him. None of what happened was his fault. In fact, he handled every situation exactly as I would have hoped. My frustration is entirely with management and the kitchen. My niece and I met for dinner to catch up. We hadn't seen each other in over a month and were simply looking forward to a relaxing evening together. About halfway through my soda, I realized the pint glass I had been drinking from was cracked almost completely around the circumference of the glass. I brought it to our server's attention, and he immediately apologized and replaced it. However, no manager ever came by to acknowledge what had happened. Serving a customer a cracked glass is a serious safety issue. We ordered the mussels as an appetizer. The first one I ate had some noticeable grit, which I overlooked because it happens from time to time. After a few more bites, I looked into the bowl and immediately noticed at least three mussels that were still completely closed. Even as someone who isn't from New England, I know the basic food safety rule: if a mussel doesn't open during cooking, it shouldn't be served. The fact that there were multiple unopened mussels in the dish was alarming. Again, our server apologized and removed the appetizer from the table. Again, no manager came to our table. Removing the soda and the mussels from the bill wasn't exceptional service. It was the bare minimum. We were never looking for anything for free. We simply expected someone in management to acknowledge what had happened. Two significant issues occurred during a single meal, one involving a cracked glass and another involving improperly served seafood. The fact that no one from management came to our table until we specifically asked to speak with someone was the most disappointing part of the entire experience. When we finished dinner, we specifically asked to speak with a manager. When we spoke with him, he agreed that someone should have come to our table and acknowledged what had happened. Apparently there were two managers on duty that evening, yet neither one thought it warranted checking in with us after two separate incidents. He explained that it had been a busy night. Notably, at that point in the night, it wasn't even 9:00 p.m., the restaurant was mostly empty, and they had to go into the back to get him. "Busy" simply wasn't a reasonable explanation. The manager offered to refund our entire bill. I specifically asked him to make sure our server still received his tip because he had done everything right. Looking at my credit card statement, however, the entire charge was refunded, meaning our excellent server apparently lost his tip despite the fact that none of this was his fault. That was incredibly disappointing. When I got home, after speaking with my niece (see note below), I called the restaurant again before they closed and spoke with the same manager. I told him I wanted to hear from the general manager. Although he told me the GM was off until Monday, he assured me the GM would still call me on Saturday. As of now, 5pm on Saturday, I still have not heard from anyone. One final detail: after we left, my niece had to pull over on the side of the road to vomit before she could make it home. Whether that can ever be proven to be related to our meal or not (I absolutely believe it was), it's part of the overall experience we had that evening, and I think it's worth mentioning. This review isn't because mistakes happened. Mistakes happen in every restaurant. It's because, in the course of one meal, we were served a cracked glass, improperly prepared seafood, and received no meaningful response from management despite multiple opportunities to make things right. Throughout the entire evening, my niece and I remained polite. We never raised our voices, demanded anything, or caused a scene. We were simply hoping someone from management would acknowledge what had happened and show that they cared. Instead, we had to ask to speak with a manager ourselves, follow up afterward, and still never heard from the general manager as promised. The only reason the evening wasn't even worse was because our server handled everything with professionalism, kindness, and genuine concern. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I can't recommend Tavolino. I sincerely hope the restaurant takes this feedback seriously because the issues themselves were concerning, but the complete lack of management accountability was what ultimately turned an unfortunate meal into a one-star experience.

The portions are good and the prices are reasonable compared to other places in the area. They still give a salad or soup with many of the dinners, and serve nice Italian bread with butter and olive oil. If your try this place and like what you got, chances are very good you will like it the next time because they are consistent. The only thing that occasionally varied is the steak tips. I chalk this up to being hard to determine in the kitchen, because until you cut into the steak, you may not know if it contains a lot of fat and nerve. All the waitresses are awesome. For example, on our recent visit there was a man with 4 small kids by himself. One of the children, who was very young, was really loud. The guy was trying to do what he could to keep the noise under control. I watched what was going on, and the waitress for the table (Dee who is absolutely awesome), another waitress, and even the woman who greet you and assigns a table all were going over and being nice and trying to help the guy out.
