I've had this restaurant on my radar for years, but it's a bit away for us and I really wanted to go on a nice day so we could have patio seating. This restaurant is located in an old mill building and we had a quick look inside when we stepped inside to request a patio seat and it looked big and spacious. We wanted the patio seating for the view of the river (I believe it's the Blackstone River) going by. It was a beautiful day to sit outside (although the sun was a little strong if you weren't under the patio umbrellas). We ordered drinks and our meals and everything came out in a timely manner. Our meals were very good, although nothing remarkable. I would definitely come again if it was a nice day to sit outside! read more

First visit to River Falls Restaurant! Parking can definitely be a little tight, so allot some time to find a spot. Restaurant was pretty neat inside - felt like a time capsule with the stone walls, etc. Definitely lots of history! If it was warmer I'd recommend heading outside to check out the Falls. Big menu to choose from - looked like something for everyone! We enjoyed the nachos and the short rib sandwiches. Everything was cooked well, came out timely and delicious. read more

I used to live in the area and had been going to River Falls for years. The place used to be good and then changed hands and turned out not so great. I'm happy to report that they're back to be being in the great category. The last few times I've been in there everything has been perfect. The waitstaff are friendly, the food comes out quickly, and the quality is consistently good. They still have their weekly deals and even have trivia nights and a full bar. Parking in the area is easy and I've never had to wait for a table. The last time I went I had the salmon BLT which tasted fresh and had a huge portion of fish. My dad had the fish and chips which were also great- I love their tartar sauce. Also good is their seafood pasta, meatloaf, etc. If you haven't been to River Falls in a while I highly recommend trying again- it's definitely back on the up and up! read more

Such a pretty place, I hate giving it such a brecommending. Really wanted to like it, especially as we went for a birthday dinner. It was a bad experience. Waitstaff doesn't know the dishes and when food comes out, they say "Sorry". We ordered prime rib, the dish looked completely off. It was basically pulled beef. They offered to replace. Other dishes were very bad, the soup came cold. The drinks were bad and when they brought out the candle, they didn't sing a Happy Birthday song. Just quietly put it on the table. Just got home from having a bridal shower hosted in the Blackstone Room today and I wanted to review right away. Having booked this venue sight unseen from online and out of state, I was very nervous, but the menus looked great, the prices were reasonable and the communication from Kayla was quick and efficient, which set a great tone. Kayla was patient throughout the process, answering my questions all the way through until the morning of. When we arrived, the room looked even lovelier than the photos that I had found, with a door to access the patio area overlooking the river (and our guests loved that on the first really sunny and warm day for the year). The staff were helpful, smiling, and the set up was painless. My biggest worry heading into this was the food. I worried for nothing. The food was excellent. We had spanakopita, mini beef wellingtons, coconut shrimp, stuffed mushrooms for hot appetizers and our guests loved them. Our lunch buffet was steak tips and chicken marsala with roasted potatoes and vegetables, served with salad and rolls. Everything was raved about. Hot, not overcooked, and the staff was great about bussing tables and turning over the buffet table from appetizers to the main meal. Kayla and I had spoken about a special bar menu for the event in addition to the regularly stocked bar and so the bartenders were ready for it, which was a nice personalized touch that we appreciated being able to do. Full disclosure: The only slight con was some of our family who came a bit late had to struggle a bit for parking for our lunchtime event. I can't recommend River Falls (and Kayla) enough. We came here on a Friday night for dinner and enjoyed the outdoor seating overlooking the water along with live music! Surprisingly, it wasn't too busy. Great place to sit outside on the River! Highly recommend! They had a live singer on Friday night who sounded excellent and really added to the vibe! My husband always gets the salmon bowl which is perfectly balanced in flavors and is (in his words) a perfect dish! I went with the southwestern salad which never disappoints! Their poblano avocado dressing has a nice kick that adds a great dimension to the salad! read more

I ordered the turkey and cheddar sandwich and I thought it was pretty good. The garlic aïoli went well on the sandwich. The fries were nice and hot too! My husband ordered the bourbon steak tips. They were a bit overcooked for him, but he still ate them. He asked for medium well and they were well done. We both each had a drink that were each one of the specials and those were good as well. Had we known we could sit outside, we would've done that overlooking the water. Since it was the first time there, we didn't know about it until we were leaving and we saw how nice it would be to sit out there. read more

It was a nice night. We got to eat outside by the river. They had tables with umbrellas to protect from the sun. The server was very bubbly along with the management staff. We all enjoyed our meals. I visited the restaurant with my mom after we had a nice afternoon at the museum. The restaurant was almost empty except for one or two tables. The host seated us and the waitress came over and took our drink order. She brought our drinks and then took our food order. It took almost thirty minutes to receive two sandwiches. It was fine, there were no complaints with that because everyone is trying their best with limited help. However my mom took a bite of her turkey club and there was no turkey. It took several minutes for the waitress to return without something and my mom had to flag her down to ask her about the sandwich. The response was maybe they ran out of turkey in the kitchen or maybe they forgot. She went to check and a few minutes later said they had run out of turkey. The waitress nor another person did not approach the table and ask if my mom wanted something else because the key ingredient of the sandwich was not available. The chef took it upon themselves to send the sandwich up with no turkey and no explanation. The waitress asked if my mom wanted something else. My mom politely explained that she understood it was not the waitresses fault but it took a long time to receive just these sandwiches and that she didn't want to wait another 30 minutes for a new one. The waitress responded that there was only one person in the kitchen and a lot of door dashes. My mom said again, I understand but don't have time to wait all over. My mom picked at her fries and ate half the sandwich. She said the bread was dry and it just wasn't what she ordered. The waitress never came back to the table until she brought the check. At which point she didn't offer to comp part of the meal or anything for what had happened. Generally my mom is not one to complain having been in the restaurant industry, retail, and then school dept, she understands things don't always go as planned. But she was very frustrated by the service that we received. Whether we were dining in or getting takeout/food delivery we felt that the server was not bothered that the table left unhappy. I left her a tip, only because my mom raised me correctly and because the waitress did part of her job. However she did not get what I normally would've tipped because she didn't make an effort to make the situation better. It was very disappointing because previous meals and experiences at the restaurant have been good. Before I posted this review I reached out on Facebook hoping to have management respond. They did not respond besides the generic message that they will get back to you. A few days later I let them know that I was disappointed with their lack of response and whoever read that put a laughing face reaction. If they think it's that funny then they won't mind losing my business as well as others I know who go there when they are in the area. I do not feel I was rude or asking for anything. I just wanted management to acknowledge my experience. read more

We visited river falls last evening for a family dinner. First time since reopening. The decor was nice but the food a fail. Shrimp scampi there is not what we know it to be, had to send it back. Did not like the oily broth flavor at all. Don't call it scampi .. it is not. Other meals on the table were the burgers, fish n chips and the steak tips. All were mediocre meals. My whole family ate there today. I had Thai chili sauce fried caulliflower. Amazing. Rest of family had... Mac and cheese obviously home made Very Good ! Chicken Parm very good...could have served 3. Short rib grilled cheese was loaded with rib meat and very good. Turkey grilled sandwich also very good. Definitely will go back, Service Good. Prices Good. First thing I noticed when approaching was the beautiful location on the River and the inaccurate restoration of the mill building in which it resides. The menu was robust and the steak was perfectly made, medium rare. The waitress we had was attentive and friendly. I will definitely come back here! Had a pretty good dining experience there this evening. The outdoor seating area is big and almost all of it overlooks the Blackstone River. It's really pretty and they're on OpenTable making the reservation process a breeze. Unfortunately our seats weren't near the water but we still had a great time. My Mojito ($10) didn't have a lot of mint: it was okay but my wife's Cosmo was great. Our appetizer, the mozzarella bursts ($10) took forever to come out and were barely warm when they finally arrived. They were okay, nothing special. Our child's fish and chips however were great and came with a pretty tasty serving of tartar sauce as well as scrumptious fries. The fries were a hit with our table. My steak tip Caesar salad was interesting. The steak tips were of good quality and delicious while the actual croutons felt cheap. Why add premium ingredients to low quality salad ingredients? Thought that was a bit odd. My wife really enjoyed her blackened chicken Alfredo ($19.99) and it was made gluten-free for her which was great although it was under seasoned. One other thing to note is that the tables outside appear to be plywood. There's no coating on them. Seems like a great way to get splinters. A simple coating to seal them would make a world of difference. Overall we had a good experience here and service was great even though they were slammed with a couple of big parties. The views are great and it made for a good evening overall. There's some limited parking but worth the struggle. Just don't miss out on the fries. read more

A few friends and I went out for dinner here. The waitress we had was amazing, so polite, attentive, and helpful when we asked questions about the menu. We went on a Tuesday night so it was not crowded and was easy to get a table. We did make a reservation online however when we showed up it wasn't in our system. Luckily it wasn't busy so we were seated right away. The food was good. The menu had a little bit of everything to pick from. I got the avocado ranch bowl which was lite and refreshing, I added chicken, which I think it definitely needed. My husband got the blackened chicken Alfredo which was tasty but not the best Alfredo dish he has ever had. The kids menu had a lot of options which I was pleasantly surprised by. Besides this place having the best food as a restaurant for regular dining-- we have had MANY family dinners and parties there. But today was phenomenal!!! Jen the bartender and Jon the chef were OUTSTANDING. The Blackstone Room was at up and ready for us BEAUTIFULLY and the food was outstanding. We chose the Create your own Italian pasta buffet.... River Falls was always pretty good under former management, and we were regulars a few years ago. But after this week's visit, we won't be back. Our server was polite, helpful, and attentive, but even he couldn't make up for the worst food any of us have had in years. I ordered a dinner salad that supposedly featured butternut squash. It was much smaller than I expected (about the size of a side salad) and looked/tasted like it was made a day or two in advance. It smelled like a walk-in fridge/freezer of stale food. The croutons were unpleasantly soggy, and the lettuce was limp. There were only a few tiny cubes of what I assume was butternut squash, but it didn't taste like anything in particular. Our daughter's chicken penne with "vodka sauce" was inedible. The chicken slices were cold and just sitting on top of the pasta without sauce; the pasta itself was lightly coated in plain tomato sauce that had an "off" taste. Needless to say, she stopped eating it after one bite. The "homemade" garlic bread was cold and tasted like the frozen grocery store variety. The server recommended dessert "homemade by a pastry chef." Since our dinners were such a flop and we were still very hungry, we took his word for it. We ordered chocolate cake, which was frozen, and cherry pie, which was COLD (not even room temperature), stale, and also had an "off" taste like it had absorbed odors from spending too much time in a walk-in fridge. Neither came with ice cream (he forewarned us they had just sold the last scoop), or even whipped cream to make up for it! When our server asked how everything was just before we requested the check, we didn't have the heart to tell him not good - not good at all. It wasn't HIS fault, so why ruin his night too? The only thing I can recommend about River Falls is that the server finds a better place to work, which he deserves, and that someone like Bar Rescue steps in to save this place before it goes under. But maybe it's just a front, and they don't care if it falls in the river. read more

So disappointed. Ordered delivery from here for the first time, BIG MISTAKE. You'd think COVID would be a motivator to increase or at least maintain quality... not so much. I ordered the Buffalo chicken dip, it arrived in a plastic soup container and had obviously been microwaved. The extra celery I ordered? Non-existent. Half the chips tasted stale. So, I'm pissed because I love this place and have never had a bad meal here... I called the restaurant. The girl who answered the phone seemed unfazed by the issues I brought to her attention. Maybe she's been dealing with the same complaints? Anyway, after giving me the run-around about calling grub hub directly for a refund, she pushed it through for me-- *thank you, and sorry for being short with you, but I think you'd be as pissed as I was if you saw what was delivered.* read more

Went to River Falls today. I usually am very satisfied with all the food items on the menu, there. Howeve, yesterday I went there for the Sunday special of "Ma Glockners chicken" and was very dissatisfied. The meat was very, very dry. I alerted the hostess who asked how everything was. She said she was sorry and would let someone know. The lack of concern was very surprising! Definitely won't order that meal, again! 4 of us went for dinner before a show at The Stadium Theater. It took a while for our waitress to come over just to tell us she'd be right back. Once she returned she took our drink order. We told her we were all set to order but she said she needed to put the drink order in first. 10 min later she came back to take our order. It took quite a while for the food to be served. We ordered Rhode Island Style Calamari which was horribly over cooked, nachos which were just nothing to write home about and grilled Brussel sprouts. The Brussel Sprouts weren't bad. One friend got the Veggie bowl and was happy with her choice. The atmosphere was fine, it was not crowded which is why we were surprised at the slow service and poor quality of the appetizers. I would probably give them another try. Anyone can have an off day. We were told that they are a 5min walk from the Theater. It is definitely a 15 min walk which makes a huge difference in the winter at night. Parking was minimal. read more

New owners. They are same owners from Wickford On The Water and Jamestown on The Water. So good! I had the clam and bacon chowder for appetizer yum and fresh! My husband had the burger with fries, it was cooked perfectly and he said was the freshest best burger he has had in forever! I had the salmon bowl, so yummy and fresh had extra for lunch the next day! Will definitely go back! So happy a great establishment picked up this place! Easter brunch 2024: This was the worst Buffett I have ever been to. We had Easter brunch here last year and the food was ok but service was horrible. It was not a buffett so we figured would try this year. First the selection was as follows: 1. Salad/ pre-made and choice of dressing, ranch! 2. Dry pancakes 3. Eggs- seemed to be powdered 4. Sausage and under cooked bacon 5. Chicken Marsala? 6. Sauces overcooked pasta 7. Baked chicken- dry is an understatement 8. Cod loin- also dry, not sure how you get cod so bad 9. Carving station of game and prime rib, which you could apparently get in two temps. Undercooked and overcooked 10. Assortment of desserts that were equally horrible. That's it, no fruit, nothing for children who by the way you pay for no matter the age, 2 yr old who only ate two slices of bacon you pay full price Service was better although our server was OVERLY too personal! Did a very nice job remodeling. Very large bar and plenty of booths along the windows plus plenty of tv's to watch sports. The food however was terrible. Ordered Rueben with a side of onion strings. Expected sliced corn beef with a slice of cheese on top topped with sauerkraut. Instead got would seemed to be chopped up canned corn beef mixed with a cheese wizz all oozing out of the bread as you tried to eat it. The onion strings were greasy cold small battered pieces of onions. If they don't improve the food River Falls is going to quickly fail once again. We needed a restaurant in the area that would allow for conversation and a menu that would please a few people. River Falls accomplished that! Ample parking, good menu selection, lots of alcoholic choices and pretty clean/modern décor. I did peek at the outdoor eating/bar area- pretty nice! Right on the water. Saturday night challenge: Team Pasta vs. Team Steak... Team Pasta took the win! No complaints (my chicken fettucine alfredo was tasty.) But Team Steak complained about how their steak was ordered vs. how it was cooked. Better luck next time Team Steak! read more
