Very disappointed with our experience at The Roast House in Blackstone tonight. We placed a $62 order through the Toast app, received confirmation, and were notified it would be ready at 7:42 PM. When my husband arrived to pick it up, he was told they never received the order. We showed both the Toast confirmation and the pending Bank of America charge for the full amount, but the owner dismissed it as the money "floating there" and said it meant nothing. Instead of helping resolve the issue or honoring the order, we were told we would need to pay again for the food. My husband refused and came home empty handed. When I called to explain that we had a family waiting for dinner and it was now after 8 PM, the owner was rude and unapologetic. She even stated she could see our 42 previous orders, which made the lack of customer service even more disappointing considering we are loyal local customers. Mistakes with third-party apps happen, but refusing to make it right and treating customers poorly is unacceptable. Unfortunately, after this experience, we will not be ordering from there again. read more

The staff is always friendly & the place is clean with consistent quality of food; we stopped going 2 years ago when the Blackstone location began charging extra for the 3rd slice of bread on a menu item named a 'Club' - then 6 months ago we began going & still consistent food. Today was the end, ordered F&C to go and when they said the total cost, I sadly heard it wrong and thought oh she said 37 dollars since F&C are 16.99 plus tax - well I was wrong - $47.00 for 2 since they raised the price to $22.00 (a 30% increase) and its not like its an oceanfront dining experience such as Georges of Galilee charging $19.00 per order or Aunt Carries $19.99) -- pity to charge so much, mind you the F&C was good but not better than others around like Grumpy's & Chelos charging $16.99 read more

Long time customers, we went for dinner this evening and while it WAS a delicious meal, there were a few things that were off. I had the turkey club with a side of coleslaw instead of fries and a Diet Coke. I was never offered a refill on my drink, there was NO bacon or mayonnaise on my sandwich and the coleslaw was like SOUP. Again- it was all tasty... it was just those things that were unsatisfactory. read more

We go to this restaurant in Blackstone Mass a couple of times a month. Food is good and affordable. We particularly like Stephanie as our waitress. Today, we experienced another waitress (small, petite, dark haired gal) who was obnoxious. She had an attitude; just asking her to repeat the vegetable choices made her very sarcastic. She asked us to pass the plates to her across the table instead of clearing the table herself. She talks to customers as if they are children (not acceptable to treat children like this either). read more

Yeah, it was fine and definitely Affordable. Had a steak sandwich off the specials menu and maybe I forgot to sharpen my teeth to bite through it all slicing it a bit thinner on a slicer would probably be beneficial. Every other part of it was fine. read more

This review is strictly for the service and not the food. Foods good and we order from their frequently. EVERY TIME we have an issue the manager is so quick to get defensive. The last two times we have ordered I believe she has even taken the order over the phone and something turns out wrong for a pick up order and if we call back to discuss she imminently gets on the phone and tries to tell you you're wrong. I am even glad it happened a second time because I was starting to think I was the crazy one and felt bad and she did it again. Super annoying plenty of places to go for food and we choose to go there cause the foods good. I am a manager myself right wrong or indifferent just make the customer happy it's that simple. Especially if you know you're in the wrong since this time it was admitted to that it was wrong no need to argue. I live close by to this restaurant, and have typically gotten takeout from this establishment on a weekly basis for years. I love it here. I enjoy coming in, sitting at the bar, playing a few games of Keno, and having a drink while I place/ wait for my take out order. Very friendly staff, and the food is always great. I've truly never had a bad meal or bad experience here. Large menu, there's something for everyone. Daily specials each day. Always get a good meal here, and if it's not- they will fix it! Popular with the locals it's a good place to grab a quick beer or maybe catch a game while chatting with the folks at the bar. It has gone down hill. Staff aren't happy the majority of the time. Most recent experience, I picked up take-out and the hostess altered my slip to reflect a $31 tip on a $68.00 bill. I called and the owner Kathy refunded me the altered amount but did not apologize and was actually quite rude. Will never return read more

The Roast House is a tradition in Northern RI. Most of my family had worked there in the 90's so it just feels like home, even in its "new" smaller location. The menu consist of traditional home cooking, roast beef, steak, sandwiches. They offer early bird specials, children menus, and lunch specials. Most costing $10 or less. My favourite is their breaded chicken. Its so juicy and well seasoned. Drafts are pretty cheap as well. Portions are large, I typically take half home and have another meal. read more

I love this place. Great portions for the price. I always come here when we're in town and I always get the country chicken cordon blue. Their Loaded Texas fries is delicious as well if you're a cheese and bacon lover. I've always wanted to try something else but every time I'm here I just always have to get my usual. This restaurant is pretty good and consistent with the comfort food they have to offer at the Roast House. Located just north of the Rhode Island/Massachusetts state line, the Roast House is also located adjacent to the cemetery. I'd have to say it is pretty convenient for a location outside of Woonsocket. The menu consists of New England comfort food, and in my personal opinion, they offered THE best clam chowder in the region. As far as the fish and chips were for the entree, I liked the fish and chips but the portion of the dish is so large that I didn't finish the rest of the french fries (as a side). Also, the Butterfinger cake is a delicious dessert selection. Don't forget to order one of the best dessert selections if you think that the appetizer or entree is enough. This is a simple neighborhood pub style restaurant with a vast menu. Like other reviews this place is really good when the right people are working. Most food is under 10 bucks and it is usually fresh and tasty. I sit at the bar and they are several specials running at all times which is nice. Cheap draft beers are always cold and they serve a good drink as well. The bartenders do very nice job. This place is really good for a club sandwich or a melt. They always have fresh roasted turkey. We did something we never did before. We ordered a pickup meal. Taco salad is supposed to have ingredients other than veggies. There was no meat, salsa nor sour cream. There barely any cheese either. Apparently we received only one of two bags for the order. So, we had to improvise with our own ingredients found in the fridge. During our call to complain, there was no offer to correct the order nor any talk of refund (partial or otherwise). So disappointing! read more

The food is delicious- fresh, high quality stuff. My mom loves their fish and chips, I'm a huge fan of their roast turkey club (which features real roast turkey). We both love their chicken fingers/chicken and chips. And their desserts never disappoint. The price point is fantastic, and the service is too. Our waitress was this wonderful genuinely good hearted woman named Barbara, she was on top of it with a bright personality. The reason for the 1 star is the fact they don't let an elderly adult (81 yo uncle)order from the children's menu. They said " we serve kid's meals at cost " which makes no sense to me . Grilled cheese with a few fries ,$3.99 ? . Come on , do they make their own cheese ? Do they bake their own bread ? Do they grow their own potatoes? The answer is NO,NO and NO! Found this place on Yelp. Food wasn't bad, nothing to rave about. The onion rings were good but they came out 2 minutes before our meal. My soup never came. My husband got the taco salad and he said it was just okay. My baked scallops were over peppered I can still taste it in the back of my throat. The veggies that came with it were soggy, and my mashed potatoes had a crusty edge from being in the warming pan. Service was Horrible. It seemed as if we were an inconvenience to her. She never came back to check on anything, my vodka and soda came out with tonic water and I had to ask another sever 10 minutes later if she could get me a new one since our waitress was no where to be found. We finished what we could of our meals and piled up the plates at the end of the table she walked passed us 3 times before someone else cleared them. We asked for a to go container for the onion rings and one was dropped at the table as she was looking the other way and talking to someone else. We then waited more than 10 minutes before we had to ask the host/manager for the check. Then the waitress saw us put it out with a credit card and told the host to run it. The level of service for a place that had 2 other tables going in the restaraunt part was sad and very sub-par. VERY disappointed in my family and my meals tonight. My mother ordered the Roast Beef Au Jus Deluxe, which was supposed to be served on a ciabatta roll. The sandwich was served on a hoagie roll that one might find in front of the Deli counter at Stop & Shop. I wanted to order the Mac & Cheese- an advertised special. They were out of the Mac & Cheese which was understandable, but still disappointing. I then ordered the Texas Roadhouse Burger- cooked well done. When I received the burger it was bright pink inside. On a separate note, the service we received was incredibly rushed. My party of 6 was crammed into a booth when there were a few other options so we could all be comfortable. SOS pretty much describes the roast house. Same Ol S%@T. Menu and specials always the same. Not saying it's bad but it's nothing Great. Nothing is ever consistent either. You can go one day and order your favorite thing and it comes out perfect. Order it another day and its lousy. (Perfect example is the montreal pork chops). Ask what the veggie is today. Guarantee is CORN..corn..corn..corn...how bout brocolli, green beans, mix, beets...no...its always...did i mention CORN ? They used to have drink specials but that ended. Why ? Wait staff for the most part are great and attentive. I just wish they'd get new menu items , anything to stop me from saying "I'm so sick of the roast house" I think its busy a lot of the time not because its all that great, but because where else is there to go in Blackstone and be close to home. I got the baked haddock with baked potato and veg. Fish had absolutely no flavor at all. I had to load it with salt. I hate when places give you sealed containers of butter and sour cream when you know they have the same stuff in the back. It's so tacky. My veg was described as broccoli cauliflower and carrots. I got 1 piece of broccoli, no cauliflower and tons of carrots. Salad had no croutons and the blue cheese had no chunks in it. Also the soda was watered down. Two thumbs down. read more

Best Buffalo Tenders ever! The Roast House is fantastic. Their menu has something for everyone. The portions are huge (always left overs for the next day). The staff is friendly and accommodating also. About the buffalo tenders: they have a few different sauces and being a little bit of a wimp, I stick to the honey stung. It is one of my favorite meals ever and if I could eat it every day, I would. The prices are very reasonable, and if you are looking for a great meal, this is the place to go! read more
