I have been coming here since 2005 and really love it. It's one of those places where you always feel comfortable and can have a relaxed, fun experience. I have tried many things on the menu but tend to gravitate towards my favorites most of the time. I especially like this place for a cold beer and one of their many appetizers. Some of my favorites: Buffalo Chicken Tenders - get them lava if you can take it! really good! Taco Nachos- HUGE and soooo good. Enough to share with @ four people-seriously! We went earlier this year because we had decent meals at the Pawtucket location. What a difference, this is the trailer park version of the Pawtucket roast house. Our server Bre*da was M.I.A. We could see her doing side work while never coming back to have items reheated that came out cold. It was 1 hr 45 minutes before closing on a Saturday and the other server was sweeping around our feet. The food was just ok. It would have been even better if all of it came out hot. read more

Went here last night and the service was awesome ask for Michelle. The food on the other hand was questionable. The clam chowder, and bread was good the seafood platter was way to greasy clams were small and soggy. So we're the fish, French Fries, Scollops and onion rings. Second time the order has been incorrect coming from the kitchen. Two of us ordered a chicken Natasha and neither of us got the pasta that is supposed to come with this meal . When taken back to the kitchen to fix, they mixed up the garlic bread between the plates. This is not the first time the kitchen staff gets things wrong. The hostess and waitress were very apologetic but there was no offer to discount the meals. I am through with this restaurant and do NOT recommend it. Visited for the first time on our way back from Providence (we did try to go one time last year and the wait was pretty long with nowhere to wait so we left). I think their only real "con" is that there's just nowhere to wait if you have to wait for a table. The bar area is nice but not super spacious and if you have kids with you, you basically have to wait outside if it's really busy. So just be prepared for that if you visit at a busy hour. It's not a large restaurant. We arrived around 4:30, I believe. It wasn't super busy yet but by 5pm... people were rolling in! Probably a testament to their good food and service because they clearly had a following. Our server, Tiffany, was delightful and attentive! She was welcoming and offered some information about the menu after we told her we were first-timers. We appreciated that a lot! A+ to her, we'd love to see her again if we visit again. I also want to note - it seemed like they were well staffed here and all of the staff coming in and out of the dining room seemed MORE than happy to grab empty plates from various tables. It's the little things, but that was great! Someone would walk by and offer, "may I take this plate?" It's great! The staff really did seem "on point" here and I loved to see that. Made it feel like it was a nice team there! I'm not sure if it was the manager or not, but she also was very nice - asking how our meal was and also thanking us for our visit. I love that! Now for the food: The adults both ordered the roast beef dinner which, I will say, is a huge departure from our typical meal choices at restaurants. We both loved the meal. My husband isn't big on warm cole slaw and it was warm b/c it was on the plate with warm food, but otherwise... awesome. I wish there was more gravy (but we could have asked for it, we didn't, and that's on us) because the gravy was DELICIOUS and we're both super picky about such things (again, not our usual meal choice partly because of our pickiness). The roast beef was lean but not tough and dry. It was flavorful and cooked perfectly (we requested medium). The portion was ample, the mashed potatoes were delicious, I loved my mixed veggies (SO good!) and again, the gravy... SO GOOD! The kids both ordered chicken tenders (traditionally fried, not battered) and fries and they both liked them (and despite the fact that this is what they order about 85% of the time, they are still picky about tenders). They were fans and it was a generous portion at a very fair price. I love small places like this - kind of hidden gems that you learn about by word of mouth (which is how I heard about them to begin with). We want to go back and try the wings b/c they looked SO DARN GOOD on other people's plates! And I'd be interested in trying the turkey dinner. Very disappointed got a clam roll for $11.99 got 6 small clams in the roll filled with lettuce. Told the waitress I had been there before and never had got such a small clam roll as I have ordered it before. She did nothing about it not to even offer me a cup of soup. Left hungry. She stated they weigh eveyrthing. Got the roast Beef dinner last week small portion. They went up in price and lowered the portions. To bad I used to love it there and go every week . Giving this 5 stars for what it is. It's a lot better than say, 99 or Applebees. The portions are MASSIVE. Their chicken "fingers" are about a quarter pound each or some ungodly size. They have a pretty nice beer selection for a little out of the way place in Blackstone, including Magic Hat, which you don't really see much around here for some reason. Bottom line, it's fresh food that's not too expensive and you'll most definitely be taking some home for lunch the next day. read more

Absolutely disgusted!!! I have been to the Roast house over 30 times during the last 5 years and absolutely love the food, drinks, staff, and music. That being said after dining there tonight I now have serious reservations about ever going there again. After being there for over an hour, the only music being played was god awful country music. Went to this place as a big group, we ended up at separate tables, which wasn't an issue. The issue was the awful service and worse food. Took a long time to get our food and half of it came out cold like leftover food. On top of that half of our party ended up sick by that night or through the next day. I'd take The Roast House over any of those restaurant chains like Applebee's, Pizzaria Uno's, etc. The quality and freshness of their food is way better. I often bring my 4-year old son there and the portions of the kids' meals are quite generous. He usually eats half for lunch and the other half for dinner. There's plenty on the menu to choose from. Can't say enough good things about the roast house! It's always been a family favorite. This past weekend though, WOW! They outdid themselves. We had a family reunion Saturday with 100 people present. Many people traveled from out of state so we continued the party on Sunday, eating all the leftovers and ordering pizza. 8:30pm rolls around Sunday night.. we still have 26 people over and everyone wants dinner! I called the roast house to see if they could accommodate a take out order for 26 people. Not only could they accommodate it.. they had all 26 meals ready in 30 minutes and what's even more impressive... every single meal was correct, even the ones we custom ordered!! read more

It's all about the buffalo chicken strips and onion rings. The buffalo strips are always a great portion and the honey stung sauce is the best. The onion rings are thin which is the only kind I like. None of this thick out of a package onion rings. They are fresh always hot and out of this world especially with the buffalo ranch. I used to get take out from here at least once a week. I'm really upset to write this review since I've gone to this establishment for the past couple of years. Last Saturday I went to the Roast House for dinner with my boyfriend and we decided to order the Texas French fries (not sure if that is the correct name). Well it comes with bacon on it but we asked for it not to have bacon but for it to come on the side. The server came out with the app. and right before she placed it down she said I'm sorry but the kitchen didn't cook it without bacon, is this okay or do you need a new one. I told her that, in fact, I don't eat meat so please have a new one come out. She again apologized and said she would get that taken care of right away. About ten minutes went by and the app. was brought back out. No bacon on the top so we thought we were good. HOW WRONG WERE WE... as we got eating my boyfriend noticed that UNDER the top cheese there were still LOADS of BACONBITS! This is just completely unacceptable- I asked for the manager and a server/manager came over. She apologized and I wanted to cancel my entire meal. She insured me that she would watch for the kitchen prepare my entire meal. I was pretty Adamant about not eating but felt as though they were trying to make it right. However, at the end of the dinner we got the bill - the appetizer was comped but nothing else. I feel as though my dinner should have been to show good faith. Or had the actual manager come over OR the kitchen manager to show their sincere apologies. With that being said, we will not be back which is really unfortunate. read more

Been here a few times you know always thought would be better than next time kept giving a chances tonight went there friend of mine sat at the bar I ordered the prime rib it was all fat the young guy bartender was awesome and friendly but he was busy the older lady was too busy trying to talk to her friends and couldn't give us the time of day, every time I asked her a question I felt like who's intruding on her private conversations with her friends who are sitting at the end of the bar. We use to come in to the roast house and would love the food and staff. The last few times we noticed the good staff is dwindling and the remaining do not converse much. It's pretty good here. Some people have complained about the service. I've always had great service. Just drive by on Fri or Sat nights. You can't park and cars park all along the street. That says a lot about a place. Everything went up by about a buck, but I guess thats just like everything else in life. Glad they still have the $1.99 Rollin Rock draft special. Always ice cold too. We had a concern about getting in as the parking lot was swamped with cars and many cars were parked on the side of the road as well. As we entered, I saw the sign "Enter as strangers, leave as friends" and wasn't sure if the Roast House could live up to that.. When we gave our name at the desk, we had a wonderful chat with the owner -she's just lovely. Warm, inviting - she was energetic, took an interest in us and made us feel right at home. There was maybe a 5 minute wait at most. The waitress who waited on us was SO accommodating -- she knew that this was our 1st time there and she explained about the restaurant--how everything is made there on the premises pretty much and answered any questions that we had.; she's been at this site for 7 years and 24 years with the company (now THAT's impressive in the food industry!) I had the prime rib special -- delicious - melt in your mouth delicious. Our son had a cheeseburger which he said was good. I can't remember what my husband had but he darn near licked the plate. Water fill-ups, multiple check-ins by the waitress were much appreciated. Then she brought out the dessert tray -- who could resist? Grapenut pudding warmed with whipped cream was divine.
