The meats were very fresh, the staff was so accommodating to my special requested cut of roast, and they make fresh dog food. Orders need to be place in advance, but I've never seen that service anywhere. They have a small grocery section with some hard to find items at Market Basket. And the prices were great! Will definately return. read more

After reading the reviews here, I stopped by for the first time. Easy to get to, and though their parking lot isn't the biggest, I had no problem grabbing a space right in front. Inside I was met by a long fairly narrow space dominated by a long refrigerated case along most of one side, with some shelves with various grocery items on the opposite wall. I was greeted quickly and asked for a porterhouse steak, but they did not have any. Then asked for a ribeye. The person moved over to where a small pile (literally) of steaks was in the counter, shuffled around the pile, and pulled one out. He bagged it and dropped it in a bin at the far end of the store where the counter was. A friendly cashier grabbed it and checked me out. I honestly didn't pay attention to the price, so unfortunately I can't tell you if it was reasonable or pricey. I will say the steak I had (and I think the others in that pile) was very unevenly cut, which is a bad thing, so I can't say I was impressed at the quality. When I cooked it, it seemed fine, though it had a very large piece of fat on it I had to cut off first, and this should have been removed by the butcher as I ended up paying for it as part of the steak. If I lived close by I'd try it again, but otherwise I would not make a special trip back. read more

I've been frequenting this building since the 80s when It was Shaw's Meats run by Jamie and staffed mostly by his sons. I was a little sad when Jamie retired and sold the business. I didn't know anywhere to get good meats at good prices. Well, I took a chance and went back to find good meats(with Budget Helpers), a couple of familiar faces, fast & courteous service and a friendly atmosphere. I hope these guys, this family, stick around as long as Jamie did!!!! read more

I've been here on multiple occasions and have legit had a supreme experience every single time. I have been reluctant to review them...perhaps to keep them under the radar. Regardless, the secret is out bc every time I come these days it is bumpin! Don't let the crowds deter you. Come in, GET A NUMBER, and wait patiently. These guys are methodical and organized. They fly through the numbers. You better prick up your ears though. They give you all of about 2 seconds to respond when your number is called! Then it's off to the races. So many cuts, so many meats, so many deals! The more you buy, the cheaper it is. I typically buy in 10lb increments. The prices and quality are unmatched. It is worth mentioning they sell a slew of other items. Fresh produce, spices, Latin delicacies, coffee, etc etc etc Make this butcher a priority, you won't regret it! Bon appetite! read more

When I need meat for the meal site that I don't usually get donated I always go to the butcher brothers. They cut the meat the way that I want it and they have what I need on hand. Went to the Big E 9/29/2022 and we always stop at the Butcher Brothers for the most outstand roast beef sandwich. We never miss these guys. With peppers and onions, it is he high point of our visit every year. The food is not only great, but the server knows how to treat people. Always a smile, and a thank you for stopping by. I purchased a variety of their stuffed chicken breasts for a holiday dinner as I had done in the past from the previous owner. They were wonderfully seasoned and beyond delicious. There were rave reviews from all of my guests. I was concerned when they purchased this butcher shop that the quality would change but they proved me wrong. The stuffed chicken breasts were very large, nicely packed with a generous amounts of wild rice, stuffing and broccoli. My guests were fighting to take home the leftovers. I was also impressed with the butcher shop as it was tremendously stocked with breads, veggies and staples. This is going to be my go to from now on when entertaining. This place is GREAT. Everything is quality, they are knowledgeable and helpful, and they have been smart and reasonable about distancing measures. Last night (Xmas eve eve), I picked up my roast and oxtail. The line was huge, but it was moving and everything seemed to be running smoothly. The guy behind me in line kept grumbling and complaining about nonsense. When we got inside, he let the staff have it. Lori took the brunt of it, and handled it so incredibly well. Super professional, and simultaneously acknowledged and diffused him. I got the feeling it wasn't her first time with this guy. Beef looks great, too. Love it here. read more
