This small and rather randomly located, modest establishment is one that I found using the Yelp mobile app randomly one day, with my girlfriend, while in search of some meat for the grill. We were in the process of driving back to Westwood from downtown Boston and tried to find something located near her place. We searched in vain, on the phone, and a few places popped up, but we wanted something specialized and when this placed popped up, it seemed like a no brainer to head there. We entered the navigational information into the GPS and off we were.. We arrived near it, drove right past it once, turned around and finally found it and parked right in front. It's very discreet you see. It's small and is essentially a room filled with chest freezers. There's a lot of them and each is filled with numerous cuts of meat. All kinds of meaty goodness. From burgers to various types of marinated steak tips - to egg rolls and even sea food. There's a ton of stuff there and the quality is top notch. Other than the chest freezers, there's also a small glass counter where a few fresh, non-frozen items can be purchased. There's little else really. The service is friendly and the prices are pretty decent as well. We ended up buying some marinated steak tips and they were delicious - tender, juicy, flavorful and cut pretty evenly. I would have no problem returning to this store for more in the future although I kind of wish that they carried more supplies besides meat. How about buns? Charcoal? Why not make your store a one-stop-shop for all of people's grilling needs? It's just so limited... read more

The guy said "I don't have time for this, when you know what you want call me back." The appetizer I'm obsessed with is something I've never even heard of before - although something I SHOULD have invented. So get this - it's an egg roll filled with the creamiest elbow mac n cheese you've ever tasted. So you know that island question that everyone likes to ask as if an ice breaker on a first date ... this would be my answer (and someone is standing here wondering why I am even bothering writing about an establishment that is filled with freezers located in a somewhat obscure location of MA... and why I am even thinking about a first date questions... just to eff with him because he is standing over my shoulder!) I remember coming in here to get the "Square burgers" as a kid. a nice, older gentleman used to cut the meat here. I think he was the owner. A WWII vet. He had a trophy SS helmet laying out as a conversation piece. I drop by now and then for their same squares that are absolutely great on the grill. This place is a small, family run business and I believe both husband and wife are always there- he is the butcher and she handles customers - both are really friendly and always helpful. Their Filet Mignon was outstanding, and their cuts of meat are top notch. These guys sell outstanding marinated steak and chicken tips! Really good stuff. These guys are set up like the old school butchers - not many of them around anymore, so we support these guys as much as we can. All in all really good product and fair pricing and good value. In my opinion people should support small businesses like this as much as humanly possible (more) as if we don't, will be soon having to go to Big box stores! Great place great premise frozen apps too. My only complaint is that once I bought a bag of the frozen crab rangoon and respectfully, it smelled fishy, which is never a good sign, but they were iffy, but FYI he was amazed as he said they were a big seller and extremely popular. We were Looking for a high quality butcher in and around central Massachusetts after the one we were going too closed. the meats at the grocery stores are just O.K. but when you want high quality meats you need a butcher were that's all they do and have meats you usually can't find at a grocery store. Boston Beef has the best and oh so tender, house flavored steak tips, I purchased a 4 bone prime rib roast for christmas this year for something different other than the usual ham. From now on this will be our christmas dinner and special occasions only because to be honest this great tasting prime rib was very expensive. My wife and I go to a very highly rated restaurant were they are known for the best prime rib around in all of Massachusetts. I slow roasted this prime rib roast at 250 degrees and pulled it out of the oven when the internal temp of the roast was reading 128 degrees on my digital thermometer which i highly recommend when cooking expensive meats and do not go by guesstamated times that mostly you will find your meats over or under cooked. This prime rib roast that i slow roasted was way better than the restaurants read more

Went in here on a whim from work after talking about steaks all day with coworkers. Very happy I did I will deffinetly frequent this establishment! Being my first time in I needed to look at the menus and see what they offered and while looking two employees had offered to help and see what I was looking for, I got marinated steak tips and a big new york strip for a great price. I cooked the steak tips up as soon as I got home and they were awesome. I havent made the New York strip yet but I'm already sure it will be amazing!! Can I give BB 6 stars? 7 maybe? How about 10?! Grew up in Norwood with my dad bringing me in ever month. The quality was always great, but ever since it changed hands in the late 80's BB has been the best kept secret in Norfolk County. We still travel from Attleboro just to get their burgers, which are the best around, their prime rib, shoulder cuts, beef ribs, etc. which are cut to perfection and whatever chicken they have available. It's veg fed/hormone free and priced competitively against local supermarkets but the quality is far superior. Marinated Hawaiian chicken is so bloody good on the grill and boneless or bone in chicken/chicken cutlets/chicken stir fry options are fantastic. They have freezers where you grab what you need, or get things fresh if that is desired. Their garlic and provolone sausage will make you the hero at any tailgate party as will their marinated steak tips. I CAN NOT overstate how good this place is. You will most definitely feel cheated that you have been getting the bland steak tip offering that supermarkets typically sell, that's for sure. They also have a freezer full of fish products, which we haven't tried and various appies which are a hit everytime we serve them. Also can cut pre breaded chicken cutlets, french fries and onion rings. So much great food packed into such a tiny place. Living in Attleboro, the only drawback is that it's not closer, but if you're close in proximity and have never frequented BB, you seriously don't know what you are missing. read more

First I love steak but it has to be thick so I can cook it Pittsburgh style. That is char on the outside but pink to red inside. When I go in there they pull out a NY strip and ask me how thick do I want it? One time I got a 3 pounder 2 inch thick T bone. Where do I start. Everything at Boston Beef is fantastic and better than what's available anywhere else. The hamburg patties are the berst. The marinated chicken is the best. The sirloin tips are the best. The parmesan and garlic sausage are the best. Boston Beef can't be beat. Used to go here with my Dad in the mid to late 60's when Tony was running it and it was good then, but now it's even better. Owner knows what's important, providing quality and keeping customers happy. The boneless chciken is all organic, the cutlets have barely a hint of fat on them and the price, especially for organically grown chicken, is about half of what one would pay at Whole Foods. Wish there was something similar here in Attleboro, but we make the every other week trip because Boston Beef is simply the best butcher shop to be found anywhere. read more

Well all I have to say is that the turkey purchased last year from Boston Beef received rave reviews from my family......from memory, came from an organic farm in Connecticut. More expensive than fresh from Roche Brothers but far, far superior in flavour, texture, etc. BB not open on Tuesday but will be phoning tomorrow to order again. I live in Norwood and this is one of our shining stars. The marinated steak tips are to die for, the sirloin strip steaks are melt in your mouth and the prime rib roasts ooze flavor. BUT my family's new favorite is the Butchers Sirloin. OMG, if you like to grill, this is for you!!! My boys go nuts when we cook this and fight over the leftovers.
