I used to go to Mignosa's Fruit Basket ALL the time! I worked nearby & the sandwiches from here were one of my go-to's. The owners are super nice! Family-owned market with a salad bar, deli counter, fruits, vegetables, and more. I love getting the turkey bacon club... so good & they're very generous with the meats. Today, I was craving some simple and the turkey bacon club sandwich from here came to mind. I immediately drove over & got myself a turkey bacon club sandwich hahaha. It's funny because I'm typically not a sandwich person at all, but I love a turkey bacon club. I did a bulkie roll with extra mayo & it was exactly how I remembered it. They cut the sandwiches in half for you & I usually eat one half and save the other for later. I'm not sure if they still do Clam Chowder on Fridays, but the clam chowder from here is fire! The sandwiches at Mignosa weren't bad at all. I can definitely have more of these in the future. I was able to order different halves of sandwiches. One was Italian and the other pastrami. The way the meat is laid on the bread makes it a little difficult to eat and tuck in but that is mainly because you're given tons of meat, which I won't complain about. You have the option of getting your sandwich made on different types of bread they have available but I'd go with their subs as they are made in house and tend to be fresh. Went recently and noticed that a line starts to build as soon 12pm rolls around so get there early if you're in a rush to get somewhere else. read more

This is nearby my house and I been wanting to try this ever since I saw my 8th grade teacher get a sandwich from here (weird i know). I got the reuben panini and the hot pastrami sandwich on sourdough. The panini takes a little longer to make but the sandwiches were sooooo good. Make sure to ask for thousand island dressing/sauce on the side, that's what ties it all together. I'm pretty bummed that I hadn't tried Mignosa's in my first 5 years living in Quincy. This place is the best! Sandwiches are so fresh - braided rolls are the way to go. So far I've tried the Italian, turkey, chicken parm but the standout in my opinion is their cranberry walnut chicken salad. Absolutely delicious. In addition to the delicious sandwiches they also have freshly baked cookies and other pastries. cookies are awesome and fresh - I need to try some of the other pastries...muffins look great as well. Overall - best deli / sandwich shop in Quincy by far. Family owned as well. Great customer service - jam-packed sandwiches for under $10. I go to this place every so often for their salad bar. Their salad bar has a good amount of items from your basics like lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers and onions to meats, cheeses and prepared salads such as pasta salad and potato salad. There is a good variety of dressings on their salad bar to put on your salad. It's about $7 or $8 per pound which adds up pretty easy here so definitely watch what you're putting on your plate. They also have a soup bar here with various soups of the day including chicken soups, vegetable soups and chowders. You will also find a small hot bar with daily specials on it such as tacos, chicken dishes, and their meatloaf is very good but they hardly ever have it. The last couple of times I've been in there they haven't had much on it and the very last time I was there they had absolutely nothing on it but when they have something good on it it's definitely worth trying. They also have a nice fruit bar there where you can make your own fruit salad. Very good option for the warmer months. There is a deli counter where you go pick a roll out of their bread boxes and they will make a sandwich to your liking. There is produce for sale here and they do carry a few groceries as well but not what you'd find in one of the larger grocery stores. The employees here are always helpful and accommodating. Ordered some sandwiches (two house special paninis and a turkey club wrap. The ladies there were so nice. They let me run to star market as they were making the sandwiches since there were people in front of me. When I came back I could tell my order was already ready. I saw the 2 wrapped paninis but noticed a deconstructed turkey wrap (meat sliced and piled). Just a minute later they said my order was ready (without any cuing towards them that I had returned). My guess is they were looking out for my return and reconstructed the wrap so it wouldn't be soggy. When I returned home, the paninis were still hot and crunchy. The turkey wrap was very generous with turkey. Highly recommend. The nicest people and great service. read more

This is a pretty cool joint. You can def see Tony Soprano picking up an Italian sub with some of his boys here. Located near Quincy Center this hidden jewel is everything you want in a North End food market. From delicious desserts to a solid deli selection you can really have a bigga fest with a your friends. I ventured into Shaw's earlier to get something for lunch. I couldn't find anything I really wanted, so I remembered that the Fruit Basket was a couple doors away and went to go try it. I went to the deli counter and there was no line, so I asked the blonde woman behind the counter if I could order a sandwich on a roll. She kind of laughed at me and said that I need to go get a roll. I got my roll and brought it to her. Then, as she was getting my sandwich, she started lecturing me on where I need to stand when I order my sandwich. How the heck was I supposed to know?! I stopped by fruit basket theother day with my disabled aunt. I noticed there was a car parked in the spot next to the hp spot that is there for a wheel chair lift. ( its a no parking area ) I called the store to ask if they knew who owned the ford explorer. It ended up to be the owner of the store. I have a love hate relationship with this place. First the love, the salad bar is HUGE. Lots of choices, everything appears to be fresh and it all tastes good. I also love the specialty shop aspect of the place... Italian pastas, sauces, cured meats, cheese, great price on eggs, etc. The hate... and perhaps hate is a strong word. The salad bar is so expensive. I made a pretty average size salad today with mostly lettuce and some other various stuff on top (no meat -- mostly tomatoes, cheese, etc.) and it cost me over $10. Just not worth it when I could go next door to star market and buy a block of cheese, bag of lettuce and can of beans for less than that. I gave an extra star because the cashiers have always been friendly to me... but I think I may have just made my last trip. read more
