My husband and I went to this restaurant on a weekday for lunch. It was not crowded, but it took at least 20 minutes for the waiter to take our orders. It took at least another 40 minutes for the food to arrive arrive We each had the two meat combo I had the Boston ribs with smoked brisket, onion strings, coleslaw, and cornbread. The ribs and the brisket had so much pepper that I could not taste the barbecue sauce. The Boston ribs were meaty, but at one end of each rib there were small bones, and the brisket was peppery and dry. I put extra barbecue sauce on the brisket, but couldn't taste it over the pepper. The meats and the onion strings were very greasy. The coleslaw was good. My husband had the brisket and a small dark meat quarter of a chicken. He also had the potato salad which had small ham pieces in it and a very, very sweet mashed candy sweet potatoes. Our lunch lasted over an hour then we had planned. Stopped in on a Friday night after 8pm with a large group. The place was still fairly busy. We all ordered takeout and the staff that helped us was all super friendly and happy to help. They didn't seem stressed that we were there. They executed getting all of our food and drinks out in a very fast and organized manner (probably 15+ individual orders). Last month I ordered the Half Rack of ribs which were very good, and the Half Chicken dinner, which was very dry. I was in the general area and decided to try Goodstuff Smokehouse again, and ordered the following for takeaway: * 2 Meat Combo (with Mac & Cheese, Mashed Potato, Ribs, Fatty Brisket) $27.00 * Small Cucumber Salad $5.00 In this case, the Brisket was very good, but the Ribs were way overdone, mostly inedible (check out the photo). Everything else was quite good, the issue here is the inconsistency, and the fact that this type of venue should always have good ribs! read more

I like Goodstuff Smokehouse. I appreciate what they do for the local community as every Thursday is a fundraiser for interested local organizations. The restaurant itself is small but always cleanly and I love how their windows have seasonal paintings on them. They also sell excellent kettle corn. I highly recommend! My grandma and I went last night but have been here numerous times before. I've often found some of their meat to be pretty dry but I do like the meatloaf. That's exactly what I had last night along with baked potato salad, Mac and cheese, and cornbread. They also make some of their drinks in house as well like the iced tea and root beer. My meatloaf was great! Nice Smokey flavor and four pieces was a hefty portion. The last two slices had some harder pieces of fat which I needed to take out of my mouth though. The potato salad is always killer- I think they add some sour cream to it to make it tangier. Cornbread is some of the best I've ever had- super sweet and cake like. The Mac and cheese was also excellent with great creaminess. Iced tea was sweetened and also very good. Our waitress was very kind and accommodating. We had banana pudding for dessert which was good overall. I prefer the Magnolia Bakery recipe more but appreciated how the nilla wafers were fresh and it had plenty of banana. I would lay off the cool whip in the future though. Overall, an excellent restaurant who does right by their employees and the community. I love to see it and support whenever I can! read more

I love, love, love Goodstuff Smokehouse. I really didn't like BBQ until I've had Goodstuff and it has changed the game for me. My family and I would go to Goodstuff during COVID as a weekly treat for us and to be able to support local business. We often ordered the family meal which has a pound each of two different meats and you can choose either four small or two large sides. We found that it was plenty of food for three people and we typically had leftovers. I have also been many times since and have had the individual meals. Their menu has a good number of options so I would say there is something for everyone! They also make their own rootbeer and kettle corn that they sell in the store along with bottles of their amazing BBQ sauces (3 options - spicy, tangy, and bold!). The restaurant itself is on the smaller side, so if it is busy (and it does get busy), there may be a bit of a wait. The restaurant is definitely a casual atmosphere. Burnt ends- super sweet, tender, just too sweet. Brisket-Pretty dry, not really a fan. Spare ribs- good bark and hickory flavor, pretty tender inside. Mac n cheese - Not bad, not the best but not the worst. Sweet potato- Little too sweet for me Service: good Overall: it's ok, but keep in mind everything here tends to be on the super sweet side. We got take out and it was good. I will say $80 for 2 meals is a bit more than expected. The sausage was good, the chicken didn't have much flavor without sauce. But the sauce itself was great. I didn't love the root beer, it taste more like a cream soda. But the sides were phenomenal. Really liked the coleslaw and the cornbread and Mac and cheese. We stopped in on a Saturday around 530. Was told there was a 15 minute wait. No big deal. Once we get seated a waitress comes over to to take our drink order. After waiting 10 minutes for our drinks, they finally arrived and we place an order. We put in for an appetizer and our meal.20 minutes go by nothing, 30 minutes still nothing. During this time we get to talking to the table beside us. They tell us they came in 20 minutes before us and they haven't received their appetizer. I worked in restaurants and I understand it's a Saturday but there has been no communication from anyone at this point. A different waitress comes over and tells us it will be a while longer. At this time I tell her to cancel ,we are going elsewhere after waiting antoer 10 monthly give us the bill for our drinks. At this time I believe what is the manager comes over with an apology. It was fake and not sincere. 10 years ago they were one of the only BBQ joints around, that isn't thw case. My recommendation, go to another one. You will see the difference in series. Golden Mustard is no substitute for flavorful Dijon mustard, a simple fix, but an important fix, for me this would make the brisket Reuben superb. Just making a logical request. Better is better. Visited Goodstuff Smokehouse on Wednesday for the first time with buddies after playing golf. It was a great find and recommend it to everyone, whether you're local, or like us from a bit away. You will make this place a must return to put on your dining rotation. Even before we got to the food, the experience was a big thumbs from the start. You pull into the parking lot and see the big smoker outside. Then you open the car doors and the woodfire smells get your senses going. You walk into the place and it makes an even better impression. It's light, spacious but also cozy. The farther back you roam towards the bar you can tell that these folks know how present a restaurant. The staff makes everything that much better. Great personalities. Super friendly and helpful with suggestions. Big shout out to Alex who was our waiter but I also believe he is the bartender. Amazing selection of craft beers. Most of the selections are their own brews. The IPAs and the Pale Ales we had were great. They even have a large selection of bourbons. And get this, they have what they call a Whiskey Bible. It's a leather bound book that is fun to look thorough. Make sure you ask to look at it. Oh yeah, what about the food? This food is very, very good. Satisfies your eyes, your smell, your taste buds and your tummy. My three buddies are foodies and they were raving. For me food is food but this has me raving about BBQ. I'm not one to give out false praise but Goodstuff is super. The experience easily will have us returning again and again. Restaurant dining has been a crapshoot over the last 5 - 10 years. Food pics speak for themselves, food was so good my favorite was brisket chili. The pig burger is amazing if you love bacon. Mac and cheese spot on! All barbecue that was coming from kitchen looked amazing , yep I creeped on others food choices. Homemade root beer and lemonade. I loved the root beer and that's not my thing normally. Lemonade was a little on sour side just the way I like it! They had 18 different beers on tap and full bar. Service was nice and helpful. The ambiance is inviting and friendly. Will be back! After hearing rave reviews for Goodstuff we headed out to Blackstone to give them a try. We love great barbecue food and I had been wanting to try them for awhile. It looked pretty promising when we entered, it was welcoming and everyone was friendly. They had an awesome looking menu and a good beer list (very important). We all ordered our meals and my husband got the pastrami dinner with Mac and cheese and collard greens. The pastrami looked amazing and my husband assured me it was delicious, he really liked the collard greens too. My mom couldn't eat the collard greens because they were too peppery for her taste (I tried them and I did think they were good). Meanwhile, that smoked Turkey breast was dry as hell!!! My mom and I ended up bringing ours home, she turned hers into a sandwich and I never ate mine and just threw it away. The candied sweet potato just tasted like a regular sweet potato, very disappointing. The Mac and cheese was terrible, it was dry and tasted like velveeta. Today 5/28/25 my wife and a family member went for lunch - per usual great ribs, corn bread, and slaw. However, cold brisket dressed with a sauce which was never ordered was disappointing. This was our first time coming here and our last. We were seated at 6:30. Waitress greeted us and took our drink order. She informed us that they had no burnt ends or brisket. She came back with drinks, my family and I ordered an appetizer and our food. A few minutes later, she came back to say they were out of ribs. She takes the updated order and we don't see her again until 7:30. She never once game over or looked in our direction. After an hour, walked by and said the food should be out soon. We inquire about the appetizer and she stated that she put the order in all at once, and we said that doesn't mean they come out at the same time as the food. Food came before the appetizer. My husband's food was cold; my daughter's meatloaf was dry; my turkey sandwich was dry and did not come with lettuce or tomato. When the appetizer arrived, the manager brought it over and my husband expressed his disappointment and frustration. She had mentioned that just got more ribs and would add them and give him a hot plate of food. She had a rudeness and an attitude when talking to us and did not seem to care about standards or customer happiness. She did take the appetizer off our bill and 50% of my husband's.
