I don't know what happened to this place but it went downhill. Our party of 7 waited over an hour for our food. When asked about the wait time, it was blamed on the party happening downstairs. All of our food was cold, dry and mine had a hair in it. The waitress went to go see if the manager could take it off the bill. I didn't eat any of it and lost my appetite! The manager didn't even come over and apologize. You may have blocked or taken the bad reviews on Facebook but you can't do it here!! Will never go back again! Thanks for ruining my Bday!! read more

Went to River Falls today to check out after it's been reopened. We were seated promptly. Another group came in and was promptly greeted by the server and taken care of while we continued to wait. She even walked by our booth did not ask if we needed to be served. That's when we decided to walk out. Very disappointing. read more

We decided to try the "new" River Falls (under new ownership) for lunch today. So glad we did. Our waitress Savanna was terrific. She gave us honest suggestions on what to try and was super personable. We had the chicken parm and chicken Marsala. Both were excellent. The menu is all new, with different options. With the new owners, the food quality has gone way up. Give them a shot, you'll be glad you did. read more

We came here for an event in their downstairs room. I noticed some not so great reviews from their menu - we came here for a dinner event, just to give you context. It's a shame that i don't frequent this neighborhood - I've been missing this restaurants feel. They have an amazing piece of property for their restaurant - not doing so well with parking. We endured a freezing walk from some parking area way in the back to their front doors. I really appreciate how they embraced the natural stone yet made it warm with dim lights and ambiance. We tried their meatballs which i loved the traces of sausage and sweetness. Their chicken was perfectly spiced and cooked. Their pastas (tasted homemade) were great. Don't get me wrong, I'm not about to bash this place at all because it's actually one of mine and my girlfriend's favorite restaurants in Northern Rhode Island. The food is always exceptional and we've never had a bad experience there before. They have an expensive menu and all the dishes taste delicious, the portions are huge and the presentation is fabulous. Last night, my girlfriend and I went there for dinner after not having been there for a few months and once again, the food did not disappoint. However, we ordered dessert to take home with us because we were too full at the end of the meal as usual and we ordered strawberry shortcake which is one of our favorite desserts. When we got home and rested for a while, we took our dessert out of the refrigerator and were shocked at a couple of things with the strawberry shortcake. First, there were only two tiny strawberries in the slice that my girlfriend had and there was only one slice of strawberry in my piece. Even worse, was that this cake was like eating a dish sponge. It was incredibly dry and very unattractive. I don't know who in the kitchen thought this was a good idea or that it was even edible, but I'm glad that I've had so many positive experiences with the food there or else I would never return there based on the desesrt alone. Normally, the desserts there are excellent but this strawberry shortcake was something that you would normally only eat if you lost a bet. Knowing how bad it was now, I wouldn't eat this again even if a gun was pointed to my head. My girlfriend and I will undoubtedly return to the restaurant and continue eating the delicious food they serve there from the wonderfully warm servers who provide great service, especially Jim, but I'm going to avoid this particular dessert going forward unless management can offer me proof that they have substantially improved upon this and corrected this issue. read more

River Falls is "Back"! They are under new ownership and have made a lot of changes. Our experience this past Wednesday was great! My husband and I both had the Fish and Chips, I had gluten free, and he had the regular. Both meals were amazing! The staff was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was very nice. Service was so slow.. Waited 20 minutes for our drinks. Which I ended up asking for them. When he finally brought it over blamed it on the bartender, which he shouldn't have as where we were seated we could see our drinks and at the end of the bar. Food was excellent as usual! This place has really gone down hill. The service was super slow for not so busy night. My friend got steak tips and he liked them but not a lot of flavor. I got the mozzarella bursts and the tower of Italy and boy was I disappointed. NO flavor. The only thing that had flavor was the pesto cream sauce for dipping. Horrible experience for our yearly family gathering. First 6 out of 8 meals came out, roasted chicken dinner took 10 more minutes, and boyfriend's salad was 5 more minutes after that. Then noticed it was missing chicken and had wrong dressing, chicken took another 10 minutes. My chicken cordon blue sandwich, which on your menu says fried chicken "breast" sandwich, was a breaded, probably frozen, cutlet. It was so breaded and over done that I ate less than half and threw the rest away. I've been in restaurant business for 30+ years and know times are tough now but I also know you don't send out incomplete orders. Our server was very apologetic and very attentive, as the reason she got over a 20% tip. read more

I'm updating my review. I had given up on this place but I think and hope they are making a turn around. Someone brought food into my work and it was surprisingly good again. Gluten-free fish and chips are awesome. I also had clam strips and scallop plate as well as the chowder. Maybe they had low staffing temporarily? The establishment is also not ADA-compliant. So don't bring someone that needs accessible accommodations. Service was slow as molasses, hard not to contrast that with the smoothly running Blackstone river nearby. Despite asking three or four times, we were missing a set of silverware until after our food arrived. Food was terrible, mediocre at best (but really that's trying hard--it was just awful). New favorite restaurant!! The location is absolutely beautiful and the outdoor dining overlooking the river is a perfect setting. My significant other and I came here on our first date and the food was so good we barely talked during the meal we visited 6/19/20 so the COVID precautions were in effect and it still felt like normal eating out! The baked stuffed haddock and seasonal green beans were absolutely stunning! The service was phenomenal and just overall an amazing experience!! Going to keep this as short as possible simply because this place was already an enormous waste of our time as it was. -FOOD was ALL horrendous. Calamari was sent out so poorly. Mushy and soft batter that fell right off on the plate and just left you with rubbery and chewy rings. Likely microwaved. DISGUSTING! Steak Tips and clams was so so. Tips came out completely cold but tasted decent. The "fried" clams, like the calamari above was mushy and soft. Again likely microwaved. GROSS! Coconut pie tasted like a frozen dessert left to thaw. It actually came out and was served to us with the crust broken off and sitting oddly on the plate. -SERVICE was atrocious. Server was MIA most of the time. Also brought a plate over my wife's shoulder and on to the table. Incredibly rude. AVOID THIS PLACE! Zero effort on all fronts and even the folks sitting near us sent back food I've spent $100 on some pretty awful things before and this is by far the worst of them. read more

We just left this restaurant. We waited an hour for one appetizer & a small salad. We left after a being there an HOUR and only had drinks on the table. The people at the bar were fighting with each other on who was there first & whos appetizers were being handed out. One of the bartenders chased a woman out the front door for taking a picture of the bar. This was the craziest experience I've ever had at a restaurant. It was NOT our servers fault, he was extremely nice & personable. And honestly probably the most competent employee they have. 3 other people walked out before us because of the wait. I want to love this restaurant. It's local, they renovated the front half so it's got a great vibe, the food is decent, and most of the serving staff is friendly. So why the two stars, you ask? The back half of the restaurant hasn't changed in all the years I've gone there. It's dark and dingy, and if you're unlucky enough to be seated back there then good luck. My husband and I tried to go for dinner tonight and were seated in the old section. Over 15 minutes later, no one even came to our table to say "we'll be right with you." I could fill this page with several other complaints, but honestly, the management likely won't make any changes and you really need to experience for yourselves. Some nights the restaurant almost redeems itself in my eyes; then there's nights like tonight. The inconsistency is just disappointing. read more

This place went downhill. Me and my wife went there and as we sat down it took like 10 minutes before some come by to ask if we wanted a drink. Then after we got are drink we asked fir a order of boneless chicken wings. It took 25 minutes to get them . As we waited I had to ask other waiter for another drink. The menu was cut down to only afew item to choose from. So when waiter come back for are order I asked what happen to the menu she laughed and said I don't know. So I order my food asked if it came with soup or salad she said no not no more. Then I asked if we can have bread and butter for table she said they don't offer this you can choose a appetizer of garlic bread we passed. Well after a long wait we got are food but as we waited all we can hear was someone group was running back and forth upstairs they said it was a private party. The food was average. Recently went for a party. Have been before and thought the food was good but this time although the food was good ( not great) the service was very poor. Through no fault of the wait staff, they just did not have enough staff. This was a function with about 60 people. One bartender who filled in as wait staff and one waitress. A buffet that was not replenished in a timely manner so consequently people went to the buffet and found little food! That is a result of poor management. The appetizers are better than the meal. The calamari has great flavor with a delicious dipping sauce, black olives and banana peppers. Teriyaki wings are smothered in sauce and meaty. We were impressed and the food came out quick. The bread and oil are served after you order the meal. This was also good. The meals were not very good. I ordered the braised pork chop and it was served with sweet potato risotto and asparagus. The risotto was ok but not for me due to the creamy sauce. The asparagus was tasty but also very little came in the order, especially compared to the mountain of risotto on my plate. The pork chop was very dry so I ate one bite and packed the rest instead of telling them how terrible it was. I don't make a habit of sending food back after working in a restaurant myself decades ago. My husband got the full rack of "fall off the bone" ribs. He couldn't cut them with a knife. He told the server and she asked if he wanted them to go and of course he did not. She took them away. We were still charged for these. I can't remember him ever having a server take his food away, he usually just eats it no matter how bad. He even showed her that it was impossible to cut and she just watched and took them away. If the food you serve your customer is too tough and dry or overcooked to eat, you should try to make sure the customer is happy when they leave. Though I would probably give them another shot because mistakes happen in the kitchen, the fact that management doesn't care or servers don't relay messages about poor quality indicates to me this was not a strange occurrence and they were not shocked to hear the food wasn't as expected. read more

The one star is for the waiter, Zack, he was the one good thing during our experience. Brussel sprout app was horrible. Would not even say it was "warm" when brought to our table. The amount of time we had to wait for our meals to be delivered was RIDICULOUS!!!!! The 2 salads we had were doused in dressing- terrible. The chicken dinner was served with basically uncooked baby carrots, and a not loaded baked potato (which was ordered). We got one round of drinks taken off the bill - since we basically had to eat with our coats on to get out the door so we could make it to the show @ the Stadium. Some of the items we tried to order they were out of . We did not get straws with our drinks. They brought my daughter's side salad out twice . I ordered an oriental crispy chicken salad, which comes with sesame ginger dressing. The salad had no dressing. The waiter was no where to be found. The food runner brought me out the wrong dressing because that's what the waiter told her to bring me. The worst dining experience. Do not recommend. My parents absolutely love this restaurant, and so for my brother, daughter, and my birthday dinner they took us there last night. My family of 5 arrived 25 minutes after the reservation, (meeting the other 3 in our party there), and they were very accommodating to get us right to a table. My mother, father, and brother had grabbed a cocktail at the bar. The waitress offered to let me taste 2 different wines to see which I preferred; sounds great! She came back 10 minutes later with 2 samples. I decided on the Pinot noir, and told her when she came back. It was actually the shiraz; she accidentally told me the wrong ones. No big deal. So my family got busy chatting like we usually do, and I noticed that I still had no wine after over 20 minutes. Plates of dipping oil sat on our table begging to be dipped, but the bread still hadn't made it there. When she finally remembered the wine we reminded her about the bread and she apologized and shuffled off to get it. The food was not the best I've had. I ordered chicken parm and it was very dry. My moms prime rib looked great, hubby's burger looked great, kids chicken looked standard, brothers macaroni dish was lackluster, and can't remember what dad had. Service was painfully slow. Painfully. My mom tried to order a dessert so they would come over and sing happy birthday, but after waiting close to a half hour my brother told the waitress to cancel it and take us the check. My 3 stars is derived mostly from my parents love of this place. They told us to come on a weeknight to try it. And I almost forgot to mention, the owner came around with an envelope for each couple to pick. Inside it is an amount off your next visit. You cannot open the envelope, your server must. I've honestly never had a bad experience here. It's my favorite place to eat in Woonsocket. It's a gem in a city that doesn't necessarily get a good rap. Situated in an old beautiful mill, this place's inside decor is welcoming and cozy. The menu is quite vast and they offer great specials on various nights. Also - Shrimp Lollapalooza every Tuesday. Need I say more? (Yes). Kids eat free on Sunday and if you want to do a little dancing, see a live band or just grab a few drinks, just walking through the door to the spacious CitySide attached to the restaurant is definitely an option. The food here is solid and the place feels more upscale than others in the area and as a person who just moved to the 'burbs and no longer has the luxury of going out to one of hundreds of Providence restaurants, this one fills the void. Well, being on the Titanic when it was about to go down is how I would describe our experience there today. Every other person who has written a one star review about this restaurant is correct......too bad we hadn't read them before making reservations , and not being able to find another restaurant just before Easter. The food couldn't be worse......I ordered the roasted chicken with mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetable.....which came with a cinnamon roll......the only reason I got this dish was because I wanted to give it to my 96 year old father who's birthday we were celebrating today as well as Easter. First of all, from the time we were seated, until the time when I was so fed up with waiting for a food that I went to the desk and asked for the manager, it was a full 100 minutes. My roasted chicken was inedible......it looked weird, it smelled odd, it tasted terrible ( the one bit I took), even the mashed potatoes couldn't have been worse.....I don't know how food could both taste, look, and smell bad in a restaurant that once upon a time was pretty good in the past few years. Obviously something has changed.....management, the chefs, the waitstaff???? All inept! So, one nice note was that when I expressed how inedible my chicken was to the waitress, she offered to get me another meal. I chose the ham, which smelled the exact same way as my previous dish did, and I didn't even bother to taste it. The drinks are pretty good. The service could use a lot of training as to actually provide good service. When you have dessert, which we brought in, perhaps offering the customers a cup of coffee to go along with their cake could have been an additional $14 on their bill, which would have cost them what, $1 at their cost? So, in summary, if you even THINK of going to this restaurant, think more than twice. If you do go, be prepared for a long wait, lousy service, bad food, and a bad taste in your mouth for the cost of a really bad dining experience. read more

We had tickets to a show at the Stadium Theatre and this restaurant was listed as a dining venue close by, so we made reservations. The waitress was terrible and the bartender didn't know what a Nutty Irishmen was???! We we're served Baileys and Frangelico over ice - when we told waitress it was a coffee drink she brought a coffee cup with 1/4 cup of coffee in it And expected us to pour the drink in the coffee cup!!!! ice cubes and all! My rib eye steak was raw - not rare raw and I ordered it medium. The baked fish was also not cooked thoroughly. Needless to say we will not be returning to this restaurant. read more

My wife and I had dinner here last night and again they were perfect and I am a tough reviewer. The Steak tips w teriyaki sauce were to die for. Perfectly cooked. Great atmosphere, our waitress, Evelyn was a delightful, always smiling very accommodating. One of the best waitresses I've ever had. Reasonable prices, great selection of food. Great Place.
