Not too sure about this location but the one in Milford was a horrible experience. Food was under seasoned. The bags to food came in were drenched in grease. Came here on a recommendation of good PR food. Waited outside for 12 minutes 1130-1142. Sign said opening at 1130. Tried the door and the lady inside waved hello. Two customers left and I was about to leave when the gentleman opened the establishment. There were only ribs, chicken, white rice and lasagna. I asked what else was in the menu and said more was being prepared. 1205 and still waiting for the rest of the food to be brought out..Time management not the big suit. Our go to when we're craving spanish food, we go at least 2-3 times a month! At first we were hesitant on going due to the presentation but after trying it, we're hooked. The meats are really juicy and flavorful and the spanish rice compliments the meat well. We love getting our meals with beans and plantains. Yucca is rarely available but we did try it once and it was okay, very oniony. The passion fruit drink tastes like the normal passion fruit juice they sell in grocery stores but more natural. Overall a meal for 2 with the $8 containers, beans, and plantains cost roughly $17 at least for us. read more

This place is where you go for Spanish food in northern Rhode Island. it could be Dominican actually? you know I'm not really sure but its good. Don't judge the place by its outside, the looks are a little tacky i guess and it looks small.. which it is, but the food they put out is awesome. its small inside a few tables nothing fancy i always do take out its kind of served in hot trays like in a buffet, all that's on the menu that day is laid out and you just pick what you want. it can vary from day to day no real set menu kind of what they feel like making that day. honestly it doesn't matter what it is cause its all good. you can get either a 7 or 8 dollar take out box. for the extra buck always go for the 8 box. every i have gone its always a lady and she doesn't speak much English at all, kind of a dead give away how authentic the food is. so you kind of have the do the point and choose maneuver lol. usually its rice and two sides, but make sure you point out to two different sides when you order. i learned that the hard way i just pointed at one expecting her to ask for another side but she just kept filling it up with the one i pointed at. whatever i just got the other side.. on the side hah. you can also get a side of their beans for an extra buck which is well worth it. most of everything they cook is in some type of stew/gravy/broth and is really tender and flavorful. A-ok Caribbean/Spanish food for the area. Ocean Cafe only had a choice of $7 or $8 containers when I visited, which is more expensive than comparable cafeterias in South Providence which offer $4-$6-$8 container options. Items like pernil are only available after 3:30pm. The food needed more flavor, and the rice I had tasted like it used pre-made seasoning. Selection was very limited bc this is a small operation. However, Ocean Cafe is one of the only Caribbean cafes in Northern RI that I know of, so if you're not in the mood to drive a 1/2 hour to Elmwood and Broad, this is a decent stop. Note to worker bees: this place gets packed so order ahead of time unless you don't mind waiting 10+ minutes for pre-made food. read more

Words cannot explain how wonderful the food and service here is. It's real yummy Spanish food. For $7 you get to choose your rice and 1 entree and for $8 you choose your rice and 2 entrees. The food comes in styrofoam containers. The place is pretty small. You can eat there or have it to go. The portions are big. Everyday there are different options to choose from for food. I recommend the yellow rice, seafood, shredded pork, the finely chopped pork in sauce, the chicharons (fried crispy pork bites). If there is something new I usually try it. Some odd things I've had here are goat and pigs feet which you kinda have to have an acquired taste for. When you walk in the most friendly woman ever will ask you if you want the $7 or $8 and then you choose your food and sometimes they have other little sides for a small charge. They also have cans of soda and utensils and napkins. Their is also a little bowl with free candies. If you like Spanish food or want to try it or even want a change in cuisine, not matter what it is I highly recommend this place. I wish they delivered.
