Everything came out hot, fast, and tasting great, exactly how it should be. What really made the night though was our waitress, Andrea. She was completely on her game--friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better without hovering. On top of that, the manager was walking around, greeting customers and checking in to make sure everything was running smoothly. That kind of hands-on presence goes a long way. we stopped in on Valentine's day at 2pm..it was very busy, but we only had to wait 13 minutes to be seated..service was great..server was happy ..she must've come to our table 6 times to ask if everything was OK...could she get us anything.....my marguerita was very good..we both loved our meals..food was very good....talked to one of the managers to tell her how impressed we were. I went the other day on 1/4/2025 around 7pm and the meal was awful. The service was so bad that I was wondering if I was on a tv game show. Always a good trip to the roadhouse, never a bad meal never a problem. We had gone on Veterans Day and everything went wonderful like always smooth as can be. The staff were really friendly and kind to the veterans especially the ones that I had with me. Our meal was over the top of the better ones I ever had. I truly like this one down in Smithfield. It's a bit easier to get in and get out of. The server was not very attentive. Took a while for her to ask for our order and to come around to see if we needed refills on our drinks. When the food finally came out, I ordered the sirloin steak with the grilled shrimp and the shrimp was extremely salty. Our server still didn't come around so I had to ask a different server for a new order of shrimp. The manager brought out a new set of shrimp and even that was just as salty. Who ever is in charge of seasoning has a very heavy hand. Meh... Usually pretty good. Tonight not so much. Frozen drink machine was down. Ordered bbq chicken, Caesar side salad and sweet potato. Husband and son ordered chicken critter meals. My chicken was room temperature, sweet potato had marshmallow all over it (I did not order it this way). Chicken critters were hot. Fries, mashed and chili all room temp. The server told manager who brought hot fries and another cup of room temp chili. When I told manager she looked dumbfounded. She took $5 off for the room temp food. Floor was incredibly dirty too. It smelt so good outside and I was jonesing some steak. It started off well and like and movie, the plot thickened and ended terribly. I was not a hide behind the yelp review either... After a few minutes we asked Skylar if she could help. she stated that the group of people in the table in front of the window were leaving soon and she didn't want to bother them but as soon as they left she would take care of it. So we sat there like fool struggling to see for another 8 minutes. The people left. Skylar walked up to the table and checked her tip and walked away. REALLY?? Another waitress walked over and handled the simple cord on the curtain to help us and other patrons. Our salads get delivered. I had the same salad as my husband. He got croutons, I did not. I also asked for the egg on the side to give to our 1 year old and that never came. Our meals arrives, the additional server literally tossed the plates on the table making the food shift on the plate! I look at my meal. I look at the photo on the menu. I ordered a combo meal to share with my one year old son. The bbq chicken was absolutely drowning in sauce. In the picture it was lightly sauced. I ordered it specifically for my son to eat and this allows for an absolute mess! My steak- overcooked. It was chewy and lacked flavor. Oh and where's my side of veggies? Never arrived. My husbands food was fine. My daughters meal was overcooked steak as well. I had to ask Skylar for my side of veggies. They arrived a few minutes later and the carrots were barely cooked. While we sat eating, the same server who threw our food pelted my husband with a bucket in his knee and just kept walking! That was it. I had to say something to Skylar. She really didn't have anything to say but sorry. Poor timing then occurred which lead to a realization that the customer service at this restaurant is a negative 5 in Yelp reviews. I had to change my son which kept us in the restaurant for a few more minutes. When I returned to the table Skylar approached us again. she said sorry again and I said I don't really understand when someone complains usually they tell their manager don't they want to hear how our experience was? She stated the restaurant was short staffed and she was busy bussing tables. My husband inquired who the manager was making sure it wasn't the knee hitter. Skylar assured us she would relay the information to the manager. I don't believe that. As we walked out the door we were able to see the manager goofing off at the hostess station with other staff. A-OK - it's a Texas Roadhouse, not fine dining. I like them because I have food allergies and need to get clarification on ingredients, etc, to order. They were able to make me special rolls without the butter on top and cook my food on foil vs the grill. The service was super slow and they definitely lost our order. Our server was very nice and polite though. Luckily we had Disney+ to distract our toddler - they charge for the tablet games on the table. Well, what can I say? I was on the telephone for about an hour and a half. Midway through the conversation, I decided to get a big steak. Stopped in around 947pm and a young lady walked me to my table. The restaurant closes at 10pm, and you could tell the waiters didn't like that I was there just before closing. The actual waiter mentioned something about time and even walked over to the front entrance computer to check the time. It was embarrassing. Made me feel like I was there for free food. Either way, I shrugged it off and was seated. On the phone all the while, the waiter (he didn't introduce himself) asked what I was having. My ticket was on the table and he asked me to choose sides. I told him I didn't have my glasses and asked if he could just read them off. He said he could but condescendingly reminded me that I needed to hurry because they were closing, and they may not take my order. Ultimately, I ordered Broccoli and Sweet Potato. He later interrupted and said they didn't have Sweet Potato. I asked for a baked potato. Just as he pivoted to leave, he said a young lady reminded him that there was no baked potato either. Frustrated, I said, "sir can you just tell me what you DO have? You said I needed to order." He offered mashed potatoes. I said, "how do you know that chick wasn't just ear-hustling? You could very well have baked potato." I settled for salad and broccoli. The gentleman left the table and another very sloppily-dressed guy came to the table. Here wasn't wearing anything that would say he's the manager. No logo on his clothing anywhere. The guy asked, "did you call one of our fucking workers a bitch?" I let him know that I had a witness on the phone and that I said, "the chick was ear-hustling." He responded, "three fucking people heard you say it, and I believe them, so we're not serving you and I'm going to ask you to leave." He then walked away. I complied and while I gathered my things, I asked for his name and his card. He gave me his name and card then asked me for my name. I told him I wasn't a customer so he didn't need my name. His response, " No problem. I don't need your name. Just get out." My business acquaintance on the phone couldn't believe what she heard. She said she caught it on her audio recorder. I have been a customer of Texas Roadhouse for years and I have the text message and email VIP with them. In the spirit of what's going on in our country, there is absolutely NO WAY I could ever spend money with Texas Roadhouse. Curbside to go- great service. Food was ready very quickly. The way that the advertisement for their family pack is written gives a strong implication that the sides will feed your whole family. This is not the case. These are very small sides- one per person at maximum. I had to make 3 additional sides to feed a family of 4, two of which are on a diet with restricted portions. The mashed potatoes fit onto two tablespoons, for frame of reference. The price seems awesome. Would've totally been worth the value if the sides fed the family and I didn't have to do extra work when I got home. Overall the food was good. Lots of protein which is what earned the stars of my rating. At most, this could feed two people and they'd have leftover beef tips. read more

We sat down and got our appetizer came out pretty quicklyChili but ended up waiting a little over an hour for our entrees. Again, we understood and no issues because of how busy it was. However, the biggest disssapointment is their tough and chewy steaks, particularly their sirloin steaks with (zero) marbling. I've been in this business for years and you are being served a mid grade (standard rating) cut based on federal quality standards. The minimum they should serve is a lower choice grade for their market segment. They can afford this because their steaks are over priced. I went Monday evening with my disabled father, husband and daughter for dinner.Tanya our server greeted us asked her how was the day "living the dream" she said which is not a good start. We therefore left her. 20.00 tip on 94 dollar bill which is over 20%. We left she then followed us into the parking lot stating she need the slip because she needed to enter it into computer for bill. Had a COVID19 challenged experience last night and Meg did her best and overcame some of the kitchen mixups; including overcooked steaks and prime rib; Baked potatos without butter. I was at Texas Roadhouse tonight and had a great meal and great service. The reason for the 1 star is the manager. I overheard her talking loud to a new waitress make a mistake. She said if she messes up again she would be fired. Who says that to a 18-19 yr old waitress that's brand new? I later found out that the managers name is Stephanie. I talked to a few other employees at the restaurant on my way out and said she was not a nice person. I can see why every time I go there we have a different waitress.
