Collards are also delicious and the yams are mildly sweet without being cloying. The banana pudding is gloriously warm and the meringue is fluffy. The pudding is a touch too sweet and I could have done with more bananas but it was large enough to share. The staff is genuinely happy to see you and are happy to talk about their work, if you like. The room is a bit bare bones and the bathrooms are rudimentary and cramped but everything works. There is parking directly in front of the restaurant. They're something that's typically Southern food especially in the country. The place itself was very unassuming. I thought it was just a convenience store. The chitterlings were seasoned with cracked red pepper and came with a side of boiled cabbage. The chitterlings were chewy and had a spicy kick. It was not very tender so I could not eat a lot of them. You get a good portion if you order small. The staff were very nice and helpful. They have a fish fry on the weekends with crab boils so definitely have to try that next time.
