Service was good, but prices for what you get are waaay too high! My spicy Bloody Mary was pretty good. I had the Traditional Eggs Benedict and as it was tasty, the portion of Canadian Bacon I received was way too tiny. I'd recommend to give a larger portion to match the English muffin. It was way to small for the price. My husband had the Biscuits and gravy and thought it was ok, but was hoping for more gravy to make it smothered. Overall service is great at the bar, just really need to up the meat portion to match the prices. I was bummed when I saw what I had to pay for my two bites of meat. We are new to the area and we're excited to find a new brunch place. We came in on Columbus Day around 11 o'clock. We saw there was a button to press to be seated. We pressed the button and waited 2minutes and no one appeared. We pressed the button again and waited another 3minutes and noticed there was a camera aimed at the host stand. I could tell my girlfriend was getting frustrated, so decided to take walk into the bar space I made it all the way to the server station and didnt see a single employee. I've worked in dining rooms the last decade of my life and have what often feels like a bottomless well of patientce. But ignoring eager customers in a nearly empty restaurant is no way to do business. We went 9minutes down the road to Brunch in Delafield. This place was amazing! I go to a lot of breakfast places in this area as well as while traveling. The menu is extensive and unique. The atmosphere, complete with fireplace, is cozy, farmyard chique. I was taken here by a friend who knew Max, the owner and chef. We asked for his recommendations and we were very pleased. I had the grilled cheese (mozzarella) with fried tomatoes drizzled with balsamic vinagrette. We also had corned beef hash (to die for!) The chef said he had tried 7-8 different ales for his corned beef and this was his favorite. We also had the mini corned beef tacos, which were served with excellent side salsas. It is always exciting to find a new favorite breakfast place. It's also nice to support local business. This young entrepreneur clearly loves to cook and create recipes that people love! I, in typical holiday weekend form, was desperate for a Bloody Mary, and he wanted an egg. It was Labor Day and we had never heard of Rise and Shine, so we figured we could try. Upon first entering, there were two other parties of two waiting to be seated but no one available at the host station. One patron did mention they were being seated fairly quickly, but I am a very casual diner and we were able immediately to sit at the bar. It was quickly obvious that they were overwhelmed and that it was more likely a staffing issue than how busy they were. The bartender (manager?) was everywhere and barely broke a sweat, even though they were running out of iced tea, glassware, etc. Mad props, because no one appeared frazzled, even though there certainly were not enough staff present. It took about seven minutes to get menus and maybe another five before we were asked for a drink order. The Bloody Mary came quickly afterward. Bloody Mary and Miller Lite chaser: The Bloody Mary itself was lacking in flavor, and the garnish was not in great shape. Pickles were soggy and not crisp. Five minutes later we ordered food, and it took about fifteen minutes to come out. I had the Veggies 4 Dayz skillet with eggs sunny side up and rye toast. He had the Jonny-B-Breakfast sandwich with jalapeno bacon and scrambled eggs. Both dishes were mediocre at best and severely lacking seasoning. The skillet came inside a bowl (?) so it was askew and difficult to eat. The other plate was ENORMOUS and took up a lot of real estate, so it was kind of awkward. The ambiance was pretty generic and a cheap buildout. Overall, I could describe this place as incredibly mid, but the staff is doing a killer job keeping their game faces on and being pleasant regardless. read more

Don't believe the HYPE, seriously I have no idea who wrote all these great reviews... family? Friends? Employees? We went there yesterday, Sunday am about 9am and there were only a few tables occupied - in hindsight we should have just left at that point. The atmosphere was... the best I can describe it was SAD. Quiet, sullen, only half the lights were on in the place. Most of the employees were just hanging out talking to each other since there were so few patrons. The food was ok at best. I had the spicy skillet which wasn't great,but edible. But the avocado on the top was spoiled. My husband had the biscuits and gravy and the eggs were powdered, the biscuits seemed out of a can and the American fries were out of a can or frozen bag - they were slices of whole potatoes that were cooked, but not even browned - and sold as American fries. Waitress was friendly, but nowhere to be found after she delivered our food - we couldn't even find her to pay our bill. We went to the front and had to go look for someone to pay. What seemed like the mgr came to the front, we told her our waitress was MIA, and we wouldn't be back - at this point the meal should have been comped with a sincere 'please try us again', but nope, said she'd find the waitress and 'talk to her'... Rise and Shine is overpriced and very underwhelming.... We would have been better off at McD for 1/3 of the price. read more

The 3 of us found Rise & Shine Cafe to be a delightful and filling Saturday brunch experience yesterday. Our server, Fabiana was very friendly and pleasant. The menu offered a nice selection to choose from and all of us thought our meals were delicious. Our guest had the Veggie 4 Dayz Skillet with scrambled eggs and sourdough toast. My husband had the Pepper Stepper Omelette with hashbrowns and wheat toast. I had the Caprese Benedict with extra crispy hashbrowns. I asked for and was served the raspberry balsamic drizzle on the side thinking it might too many sauces with the hollandaise sauce and pesto sauce (both of which were delicious) but actually found this raspberry balsamic sauce to be quite delicious too. We were really excited for this restaurant. We really wanted to like it, but will not be back. Ambiance - nice, clean restaurant. Service - while understaffed our server was awesome, attentive, and good communication. Food - we waited 45 minutes for our food. So we expected it to be good. It was warm to cold. The hasbrowns undercooked. The Benedict was good. The skillet was mostly potatoes and little meat and vegetables. The food was greasy and not made from scratch. We asked about kitchen staffing and they noted there were 4 people there doing everything. It is obvious they are not trained, efficient or have processes in place for quality. They noted they only have been open 8 weeks. I hope it improves there. read more

This was our 2nd attempt. Went about as good as the first, which was not good. We were seated right away. Waited about 10 mins before our waitress came to take our coffee order. Another tens mins before we got our coffee. We ordered right away. I asked about the blueberry pancakes since they offered 3 sizes. She said the pancakes were huge so I ordered the smallest with crispy bacon. My husband ordered the 4 egg entree Marie's southern railroad. Sounded good but too big for me. It took over an hour to get our food. The pancake was about maybe a 5 inch diameter hardly a large pancake for $5.95. Now, the crispy bacon was hard to describe as its appearance was more like beef jerky. The pancake was cold and very gummy and the bacon was definitely beef jerky very tough to eat. I did not finish it. The entree was served was mainly smothered in hashbrowns, not the gravy they claim, and not even sure there were 2 eggs let alone the 4 the menu claimed. Very disappointing. The waitress came once to refill our coffee and never asked if our food was ok. I'm assuming she knows from experience it was not. Not sure I was give this another try. read more

Stopped here for breakfast after dropping off the grandkids at school. Place was bright, cheery, and had plenty of outdoor light shining in. We were greeted and seated promptly. Waitress gave us menus and offered coffee or anything else to drink. gave us 5 minutes to decide what we wanted. Their menu has several omelets, eggs benedict, build your own, and waffles to choose from. I ordered the traditional eggs benedict and my wife got a Denver omelet. Waited about 10 minutes for our food. The Denver omelet was huge! Came with nicely browned hash browns. Took some home. My eggs benedict (2) were very good. The yolks were runny, as they should be, and the sauce was excellent. It is served on a lightly toasted English muffin. Yum! Waitress checked on us periodically and promptly got us our bill upon completion. Despite being a fairly full restaurant, service and wait time was excellent. I'm not sure what some of the other reviewers were expecting hen they complain about portion size vs price. Both were exactly what I've seen at other comparable family restaurants. If you want cheaper, McD's is your place. As for us, we'll be back! read more

I really wanted to like this restaurant as it's cute and menu looks yummy. We tried it twice and had similar experiences to where I won't go back. Once Spring 2023 and again today (10/22/2023). Both times the waits were incomprehensible. Over 2 hours to have breakfast is ridiculous. Food was mediocre and bacon served raw. And I've been ti restaurants short staffed and usually tip well (30%) as they're hustling and trying, but sadly I just can't say the same here. read more
