I love this place! The coffee and food are great. However, the staff is outstanding! It's definitely one of my favorite places

First thing…read moreyou should know is that it's not a restaurant, they refer to themselves as an artisan kitchen. Check out their website for more background on this difference. What I love about this place is that the menu is constantly changing. Each day may bring something new, so come prepared for an adventure. Came a little before noon with a friend. It's a small place, with a few small tables and a couple larger ones for groups or seating strangers together. Lots of nice light coming through the large windows. Got seated right away with a couple waters (with lemon). And Joe (one of the owners), helped us settle and took our orders. The two entrees today were Blacked Mahi-mahi Tostada and Wagyu Beef and Summer Vegetable Bolognese. These both did not take long to come out. Both the perfect temperatures and excellent flavors. So good that you want to take your time and savior the complexity of all the flavors and textures. It's a gourmet experience in a casual environment. They sometimes run out of items, so get their early if you want to be sure to your first choice.

Joe's son, Jeremy, is the chef and his arancini, sea bass, chicken Marsala, and chocolate torte were terrific last night. It's a converted barn, and from the outside you might actually think that it's still being used. There is parking behind the barn, and some seating outside. (posted signs about Bees, and some places are off limits, but I didn't see any beehives?) The lower level of the barn had been converted/remodeled into a small restaurant space. There are several wooden tables. What is so very suprising was the large selection of home made bakery and pastry items. They all looked fresh and LARGE. I love a good scone, which they had, but they also had a selection of different coffee cakes, and cinnamon rolls. It was a tough choice but I ended up getting the Chocolate Chip Coffee Cake. They also made me a Chai Latte, in a mug. A was a great combination. The coffee cake was a little dry/crumbly (which I like), so it paired well with the hot chai. The place was busy. And from the sound of it, there were lots of regulars. That's always a good sign. Some people ordered breakfast and egg dishes. They all looked goo. It's a nice place, with nice folks, and excellent baked good. I would have preferred a bit more inside seating, but they are working with limited space. The outside could benefit from some better landscaping, and seating areas.

Ella’s Public House - Caesar salad with grilled salmon

I so enjoyed our recent experience at Ella's Public House…read more We stopped by for dinner on a brisk autumn evening. We started with cocktails, which were delicious. I was surprised to see a sazerac on the cocktail menu (the vibes are more basic bar beverages) but it is indeed on the menu. I ordered it and it was a beautifully rendered sazerac. For our appetizer we ordered and enjoyed the burrata. The burrata was creamy, delicate, and balsamic drizzled. It's served with small garlic toast and was a wonderful start to the meal. For my main, I got the caesar salad with salmon added. The caesar was chopped (no overly large leaves of romaine to contend with), crisp, and perfectly dressed. The addition grilled salmon topped it off to make a wonderful and filling meal. The service was attentive and efficient. The atmosphere is deceptive-at first glance it has a basic sports bar dining room vibe--but, check out the sunken fireplace with soft bench seating. I can picture myself there with a cocktail this winter. Such cozy vibes! Get to it!

It took 15 minutes before someone came for our drink order, another 10 minutes to get them. We ordered our meals and it was nearly an hour before they arrived at our table. What the heck? We watched multiple tables order their steaks, get served said steaks, eat their meals, pay and leave. When we finally received our food it was lukewarm but at that point we were afraid to send them back for fear we'd have to wait another hour. The flavor was good - no complaint about the actual food other than the temperature - but we were there for almost 90 minutes before we ever even got it. With so many places on my "to try" list there is no need for us to go back to Ella's.

It's a pretty dark, steakhouse, vibe inside with old school Frank Sinatra-esque music in the background. The service level here was perfect, I love a place where the staff plays zone and if someone notices something then they cover it seamlessly. Nick was our server and took great care of us. we tried the following: Drinks - I had a dirty gin martini and my wife had a captain and diet (her go to) and both were perfectly mixed. Appetizers - We were really looking forward to the buratta appetizer, but it had just gone off menu, so we went with the goat cheese that replaced it, which was good (but I would cut down the number of sun-dried tomatoes by 1/3). My wife ordered the onion soup and really enjoyed it. Mains - My wife had the filet and said it was the best she has had in a long while. I am a sucker for lamb and wasn't feeling like a steak, so that is what I went with. Both were amazing and we both had mashed potatoes. Mine also came with carrots with a demi-glaze. Everything was delicious. Dessert - The restaurant was kind enough to serve my wife a complimentary dessert for her birthday. It was amazing, but we were so full we could only manage a few bites. Will definitely be back!!

It was an early seating 5:00. We were guided through a fairly empty dining room to the upstairs room. There was one couple already seated in an otherwise empty room. We were seated immediately next to them..... we may as well have been sitting at their table. I not only thought this strange but actually a bit rude. But, I did not make an objection. The food at this restaurant is always good and the wild game selection along with the specials are usually the good bets. In the past the wine list was more cost friendly but still not bad. My only criticism of the menu is the rather limited appetizer selection. Our entrees were very good but overall the experience was stilted by the poor judgement of the hostess serving us.
