Gio skillet and Mickey Mouse pancake

This has to be the best small eatery in southeastern Wisconsin. Lucy and her family are absolute treasures and they not only have unbelievably good food, they also have the best and most wonderful service! You can order anything off the menu and be blown away with not only the quality but the craftsmanship of your meal. All the food is fresh and screaming hot when it comes out! What an absolute treat. The price is absolutely right and I couldn't recommend them more!!

Lucy's Cafe is a quaint family run restaurant that I truly enjoyed. I was visiting a lady friend in Mukwonago and her parents took us out for brunch. This place is tiny! And on a Sunday they were definitely steadily busy. We thought the wait was going to be long, but luckily for us it wasn't. The service was awesomely friendly and not intrusive in the least. There are not a lot of options for gluten free people, but I ordered Lucy's famous potatoes and this was pretty good. A little more oily than I'd have liked, but good nonetheless. I also had a side salad that was simple and good. Everyone else ordered various breakfast And lunch options. The family I went with loves Lucy's and loves their food. I'm definitely here for supporting local and family restaurants. I'm sure I'll be back at some point.

The prices are surprisingly high for this being such a small town place, and a prominent sign on the wall indicates that drink prices include sales tax, and yet additional sales tax was included on our bill. The biggest downside for me is the noise. This is an extremely noisy bar, with lots of people shouting and yelling over each other and very loudly playing dice at the bar, banging the dice cup over and over. This is understandable, but the dining tables are situated surrounding the bar, so there's no way to escape the noise and there's no way to have a conversation with anyone in your party without yelling and then turning your head to hear them. The bar has multiple televisions playing, and big speakers on the wall loudly booming the bass of whatever audio is on the TV, but whatever the TV isn't playing isn't audible anyway over the noise, so why not just mute the TVs and let people watch them without sound for the score of whatever game is on? This would probably help the noise problem a little.

I would have eaten here a second time on Sunday afternoon, but I got a $30 ticket after parking in what I thought was a free parking lot behind the adjoining businesses on the Main Street. I ended up stopping by Culver's on the way home to make up for the $30 charged by the greedy city of Lake Geneva. If the business owner reads this, please help do something about the outrageous parking fees in your city. Maybe a warning would have been nice instead of a ticket, or free parking during winter months on a Sunday. It cost you $60-70 in business this time, and has me looking elsewhere for our next weekend trip.

She says sit down and moves a pair of gloves that belong to the woman next to me. So I sit down and get ready to order when, the woman next to me taps me on the shoulder and says she's saving the seat for someone who will be here soon so I'll have to get up... The bartender looks at her, then looks and me and shrugs her shoulders... Glad I didn't pay the meter before I sat down. I didn't know you could group up and reserve seats at the bar before your party is there. My bad. Now I know. I should have made reservations... for the bar stool... I thought I was becoming a regular. I'll have to seriously think again. That really felt pretty weak. Super disappointing.

They also have different specialty cocktails throughout the year. -Cheese curds...I know, it's Wisconsin, but these are right up there with the elite. Cons: -I'll let you know when I find some. We've been to Crafty Cow several times over the last year, probably four or five times, and we've always been impressed by how friendly the waitstaff and bar staff are. The owner is also very nice and clearly involved, which I think is cool. I almost always order the same thing: the chicken strip meal, which comes with three huge strips and a large side of fries. The chicken here is really interesting because it's marinated in pickle brine. You can definitely taste the brine, and it adds something you didn't even realize was missing. My wife used to order the same thing, but now she tries something different each time because she knows she can share my strips. Everything she has tried has been good. Also worth mentioning: they have really good ranch dressing. I was surprised when I looked up Crafty Cow on Yelp and saw that it had less than four stars. Looking at some of the older reviews, I'm guessing it may have had a bit of a rocky start. But based on our experiences, Crafty Cow has been consistently great, and we'll definitely keep coming back.

The interior decor is very 'pub' like with expanses of dark wood and many art prints/framed works on the walls; there is a large bar in the front area with several tables/high-tops. In the back, the aesthetic is more 'industrial' with exposed brickwork and beams. We were greeted by the bartender (?) and seated immediately; our waitress brought us menus, reviewed the specials with us, and then brought our drinks. Crafty Cow specialises in 'craft' sodas and I enjoyed a very nice diet 'cola' drink with lemon; it was delicious. I ordered the chicken sandwich with the 'Nashville Hot' seasoning (because, hello, Nashville Hot) and it arrived piping hot with lots of shoe-string fries, also piping hot. The flavours were absolutely wonderful, full of contrast and balance. The 'heat' from the chicken was excellent; the chicken was plump and juicy, and had been perfectly breaded and fried. The slaw was also excellent: just the right balance of sweet and crunchy to offset the hot chicken. My clients and I enjoyed our visit to Crafty Cow Burgers & Fried Chicken and plan to return! HIGHLY RECOMMEND
