New ownership and fresh ideas totally wowed me today! This place is like a breath of fresh air to me after trying so many coffee shops in southeastern Wisconsin and being disappointed no more ! They knocked it out of the park with the lavender latte (best I've ever had) and the food items also like nowhere I've ever been. Fresh made from scratch bakery, soups, açaí bowls, sandwiches (amazing chicken salad on croissant) and taste amazing! I tried the blueberry casserole with mascarpone and it was to die for! Perfectly soaked of creamy goodness! The muffins melt in your mouth and fresh blueberries in every bite! The bacon, egg, cheese and fresh spinach on a English muffin hit the spot! The vibe is relaxing and calming with a dual sided fireplace! The owners are super friendly, genuine and charismatic. There's even a drive through including fur baby lattes! Can't wait for the outdoor seating this spring and car shows to try more delectable foods! Note: get the punchcard because you're going to want to come back! They eve. Store them for you on site so you don't have to remember to bring it!

Bakery items made fresh. Quiche. Sandwiches. Home made soup. Coffee beans from Colectivo. Cold case with multiple kinds of drinks. This cozy nook feels like a living room, especially considering it has a two sided fireplace right in the middle of the den-like dining/sitting room. Located in a newer, very small "strip mall" building with plenty of lot parking.

The blueberry casserole was a delicious muffin base with fresh blueberries and creamy mascarpone filling.

First time here. It's a nondescript building off of the Hwy 83/Genesee Rd. roundabout. It's a…read moregreat building with windows along one side, and a drive through around the back (or is it the front). Inside there are different seating areas, and even a fireplace with a couple of chairs. The door opened right to the outside, which can be a little chilly like today, when someone enters/exits. The inside reflects the name, Mercantile and Bean. There are unique items for sale, ranging from honey to candles to apparel items. For me, this space could have been better purposed for additional seating. But I get the idea that they offer what they consider "Artisanal" items for sale. Just not what I want in a coffee shop. Stopped in with a friend for some lunch. It was about half full, and there were mostly individuals or couple seated in the dining area. Got to order right away, and got friendly service the entire time. Got a London Fog Tea Latte, and they did a good job with my order (little vanilla, little lavender, and extra foam). They also left the tea bags, so that I might steep a little longer. Chose the Greek Salad, which was made up in the typical fashion, although this one had a bit of avocado (nice addition). The bakery case some unique items that you might not find in other places. I got a piece of Chai Masala Coffee Cake. It was moist, flavorful, and was a generous portion. It also had a nice brown sugar crunchy top. It was a good experience, but leaning more towards a Cafe and Merch shop, and less than a traditional coffee shop.

I have been multiple times and have had to have them turn the music down and they still don't turn it down as much as they should so customers can have a conversation with each other. I understand that they are behind the counter with the grinder and brewing equipment which is loud, but you are working not listening to music. Out where customers sit it is extremely loud. 2 stars is for the ambience ( loud music makes it unbearable) 5 stars for the great coffee and food.

It's a converted barn, and from the outside you might actually think that it's still being used. There is parking behind the barn, and some seating outside. (posted signs about Bees, and some places are off limits, but I didn't see any beehives?) The lower level of the barn had been converted/remodeled into a small restaurant space. There are several wooden tables. What is so very suprising was the large selection of home made bakery and pastry items. They all looked fresh and LARGE. I love a good scone, which they had, but they also had a selection of different coffee cakes, and cinnamon rolls. It was a tough choice but I ended up getting the Chocolate Chip Coffee Cake. They also made me a Chai Latte, in a mug. A was a great combination. The coffee cake was a little dry/crumbly (which I like), so it paired well with the hot chai. The place was busy. And from the sound of it, there were lots of regulars. That's always a good sign. Some people ordered breakfast and egg dishes. They all looked goo. It's a nice place, with nice folks, and excellent baked good. I would have preferred a bit more inside seating, but they are working with limited space. The outside could benefit from some better landscaping, and seating areas.
