I requested to speak with manager several times before he reluctantly came to the table. Sadly he was poorly trained in customer service. I read the Yelp reviews before eating at Ripe. A couple of friends also mentioned it was good. I'm glad we tried it because it was good. I had the poached pear salad with sliced pears, cashews and goat cheese. It was tasty and very filling. It also came with a small slice of bread. I added grilled chicken to the salad. I forget what the pears were soaked in but it was great! My boyfriend had some kind of chicken. He said it was alright but had too much of a garlic flavor. We also had their brownie/sheet cake with vanilla ice cream for dessert. It was good too. There are two reasons why I give Ripe 4 stars. The first is that it's pricey. They have specials on certain days of the week which is good. They don't seem to have any on salads unless I missed that. Our meal was $47! That's a bit more than what we usually pay when going out to eat. This was only for lunch too! I don't think it was from the dinner menu. I'm not too sure but $47 is quite pricey imo. The second reason why I give it 4 stars is because of the waitress we had. She was good and brought our food out pretty fast. She wasn't really friendly. She seemed like she was in a hurry. I'm not sure what was happening there. She wasn't terrible, though. Would I come back? Yes I would. I'd have this salad or a hamburger next time. Ripe also offers vegan and vegetarian options. OMG THE FRIED GREEN TOMATO BLT IS AMAZING I absolutely loved this dish with the sweet potato fries. I asked for extra side of their chipotle mayo to go with the fries and I had the best lunch ever. My boyfriend got the ahi tuna sandwich which was also very very good. I liked how the outside of the tuna was a little crispy. We ordered the maple pecan cheesecake for desert and it was so good! Could use more pecans but I live nuts I also would have liked the bottom to be a thicker layer of crust but that's getting picky. Such a great lunch. Good atmosphere. A little expensive. Went to Ripe twice this week, both times with out of town friends so they could experience a local favorite of mine. I ordered a hamburger on my first visit this week...maybe the best I've ever had. Ripe is a great spot at all times of the day. I primarily visit for brunch on Saturday or Sunday. They have good drink specials, a nice selection of eggs benedicts, lots of delicious breakfast plates, and really good pancakes. I've never had to wait for a table during brunch hours. They have a nice dinner menu as well. I've been here several times at dinner and wouldn't hesitate to go again. With some sort of drink and food special every night if the week, they definitely keep it interesting. Finally, they have a drive-thru. Yep. That's right. A nice sit down restaurant with a drive thru. I asked the bus boy for help and he tried to get help. 2 waitresses all they did is look at as and ignore us. Unbelievable and unacceptable. We had to leave. As we were leaving we told them that not nobody helps us. The hostess and one of the waitresses did not show any concern. I called the restaurant and spoke to the manager and same thing. This place is the definition of "Brunch Spot." There are so many options here so if you are more of a savory person or more of a sweet person, there are options for everyone! There are complementary biscuits and jam. The biscuits are like a honey wheat situation going on which I'm not a huge fan of (I'm more about the savory) but their jam is ON POINT. I've had their biscuits and gravy and the Brisket ranchero benedict and they were both delicious. The dishes usually come with beans and home fries. The other day my home fries were ultra crispy and warmed my soul. These entrees are normally very good but this time the chicken had no flavor was was dry. The gravy was thick like glue and had a weird taste and texture. Terrible customer service from the hosts!!! Called ahead for a table for 5 and was told they have room and we could NOT put our name down because it was first come first serve. We arrived 2 minutes later and we're met with AWFUL hostess who told us it was then a 50-60 minutes. Even that is understandable, as I've worked in the restaurant industry and know that things happen suddenly. What I found completely unprofessional and unacceptable was the manner of the hostess, who was extremely rude and demanded to know who we spoke to on the phone, then had the nerve to say we spoke to the WRONG PERSON?! I'm sorry, last time I checked the host is supposed to be answering the phone in order to coordinate reservation/seating. We went back to Ripe on Tuesday and again we had the amazing server that we had before. We love Alice! We had burgers this time and to our surprise the burgers are $3 (I think) off on Tuesdays.
