Extremely Disappointing Experience My experience at Another Broken Egg Cafe in El Paso today was absolutely insulting. What started as a frustrating wait turned into an even more disappointing experience because of how the situation was handled by both the host staff and management. When I arrived, I checked in and added my party to the waitlist. We were quoted a wait time of 20-25 minutes. I was patient and even set a timer so I would know when our estimated wait was almost over. With approximately five minutes remaining, I moved closer to the entrance so that when our name was called, the staff would not have to wait for me to walk back up. While waiting, my party and I started noticing that the people around us had changed from the original group of people who had been waiting. We continued waiting, assuming the process was being handled appropriately. However, when I checked my timer again, we had been waiting approximately 55 minutes without receiving a text notification or any update about our table. At that point, I went inside to let the host know that she could remove us from the waitlist. I did this as a courtesy because I thought it was the right thing to do rather than simply leaving without notifying anyone. To my surprise, the same host told me she could seat my party right then. After nearly an hour of waiting without an update, suddenly we could be seated when I came inside to cancel? The timing was incredibly frustrating. I was already concerned when our initial reservation information was written on a Post-it note. When I returned inside, the host used an iPad to pull up my information, and the phone number displayed had a completely different area code from mine. This raised serious concerns about whether our information had been entered correctly and whether the waitlist was being managed properly. I cannot say whether this was incompetence, a system error, or something more concerning. However, the combination of the excessive wait, lack of communication, and incorrect contact information left me questioning how my party was being treated and whether all guests were receiving the same consideration. I decided to give the restaurant an opportunity to address the situation directly, so I called back approximately five minutes after leaving and spoke with a manager. That conversation only made matters worse. The manager told me that he does not hire incompetent people, but that he needed to check and make sure things were being organized properly at the host stand. He also stated that the maximum wait time that day was 30-35 minutes. That made the situation even more upsetting. We had been quoted 20-25 minutes, waited approximately 55 minutes, and received no notification. Even according to the manager's own statement, our wait exceeded the maximum time he said guests should expect. Rather than reassuring me that he would investigate what happened, his response came across as defensive and dismissive, as though he had already decided an employee was simply entering information incorrectly. I did not call to attack his employees or question his hiring practices. I called to explain what happened and give management an opportunity to take my concerns seriously. I expected acknowledgment, accountability, and a genuine effort to understand how this happened. Instead, I felt as though I had to defend the legitimacy of my own experience. I also want to be clear that I am concerned about the possibility of unequal treatment. I cannot establish anyone's motive from this experience alone, but the circumstances, including the incorrect area code and the way the waitlist was handled, left me with questions that I believe management should take seriously rather than dismiss. What makes this especially disappointing is that I genuinely enjoy the food at Another Broken Egg Cafe. I should not have to accept poor communication, disorganized service, and a dismissive response from management just to enjoy a meal at a restaurant I like. I was patient. I monitored my own wait time. I moved closer to the entrance to make the staff's job easier. I even notified the host when I decided to leave instead of simply walking away. I made a reasonable effort to be considerate of the restaurant, and I expected the same basic consideration in return. Management needs to review how the waitlist is being managed, how customer contact information is entered, why guests are waiting significantly longer than the quoted times without updates, and how complaints are handled. A manager should be willing to investigate a customer's concern before becoming defensive. This experience was frustrating, unprofessional, and deeply disappointing. The food may be good, but good food does not excuse poor service or a lack of accountability. Based on this visit and my subsequent conversation with management, I left with a much worse impression of this location than I had when I arrive. read more

Great places are few and far between and worth pulling the cell phone to have a noteworthy moment . But this is one of them and especially with everyone creating their own TikTok shares and creating social following . This ain't about me it's about this place ! It was great I got seating, great food selected the steak and eggs Benedict and a stack of apple pie pancakes and a mimosa and a iced tea and it was amazing! read more

"You can't buy happiness, but you can buy brunch and basically that's the same thing." Another Broken Egg has such a beautiful aesthetic both inside and out! It's a cute spacious cafe with brunch-style decor, beautiful lighting, and various seating styles. The staff is pleasant and full of smiles as soon as you walk in. The cuisine is unique, seasoned well and will leave you wanting more and hard to make a decision. I had the lunch 1/2 special which included a half order of the chicken n' waffles entree paired with the jambalaya. The portion sizes of each were perfect, for me. The jambalaya was well seasoned and had much shrimp which was devine. The dish comes with an egg, I chose scrambled. As brunch girlie, I love a good cocktail! I got the Bloody Maria Made great by the way! It paired really well with the meal. Our server, Gabby was a delight! She was constantly checking in! Her kindness and attention to detail did not go unnoticed. I'm visiting El Paso for a few days from many many miles away and I will definitely be back to visit before I leave. Cheers! read more

My first time here and it was a great experience! We came on a Thursday morning and it wasn't too busy. The food was incredible. We got the Southern Breakfast Bowl and added the pancakes for a few extra dollars. We knew the portions were large (and they are!) so we split everything and it was more than enough for each of us! Our server even brought us extra plates knowing we were sharing. We also got the half order of biscuit beignets. If you sign up on their website they'll send you an email for a free half order of them so that's what we did! They come with a side of honey and they are very sweet, but so good! I'd definitely come back to try more of their food. read more

This is my 2nd visit at the only location in El Paso. I came yesterday with a long-time friend. I asked for a table served by Linette A. She is very friendly. Yesterday she conversed with my friend in fluent border Spanish. This time I got a real brunch item, the Pumpkin Crunch Waffle with pumpkin cheesecake butter, crumbled graham crackers and maple pumpkin syrup. So yummy. You get eggs and choice of bacon or sausage patties, all for $15.99; I added a large OJ and Barista blend coffee with free refills. Very clean environment. They have a kids menu. Lots of happy local customers. Entrance/exit to their parking lot behind the building is only on southbound Mesa St. There is a back way but an adjacent business chained it off. read more

Great service, the food is what is on point! Nothing like broken egg, twisted yolk or toasted yolk down the street could never compete with Another broken egg! read more

The food is fantastic and delicious, staff is great and very welcoming, busy, but worth the wait.

Lynette made our visit memorable. Party of two walked in and sat immediately. Ordered a pumpkin old fashioned, Louisiana Benny, Supreme omelette, the pumpkin waffle. Everything was extremely delicious. The pumpkin old fashioned is a must try. Lynette was great! A must do if in El paso. I will be visiting once again. Thank you lynette!! read more

The place is very cute and clean. The workers are very nice and knowledgeable. I ordered the fried chicken & waffles that was a 2/10, it had no flavor. The coffee and toast were a 10/10 though. My husband got the lobster omelette he said it was a 9/10! We will be coming back, I would like to try a few other dishes. read more

I got on the waitlist at 09:30, from my phone in the parking lot. After checking in with the host I was quoted 20 minutes till being seated. I waited 35 minutes and checked again, and was told "10 more minutes tops" by the host. 20 more minutes elapsed, and the manager came out and said they were "dealing with a large party and the wait was longer than expected." 15 minutes later I was called saying my table was ready. As soon as we sat down we ordered- because I didnt plan on wasting my entire Saturday here. The waiter told us the food would be "30-45 minutes to come out due to a large party" I will never, under any circumstances come back here. The food was a little above average, but definitely not worth the more than an hour wait. read more

I threw up 30 minutes after eating the chicken and waffle. The chicken was so dry and some parts were uncooked

DONT use the online wait list, its bullshit. I used the online waitlist, it stated "thank you for saving your spot it will be 20 to 30min" so I arrived in 20min to the location. When I arrived thay told me the wait was 20 to 30min. When I explained the online wait list the manager told me I have to wait for everyone else that also used the online wait list ... what?! So the online waitlist is the amount of time you'll wait when you arrive, maybe more. Good luck. UPDATE After being seated we waited for 1hr! for our food. Never a check up by the waiter. My food was not good. It was a obvious my plate sat under the heat lamp for a while. The ham on my sandwich was wilted, the tomato looked bad and the avocado was brown not green. The chowder was dry and crusty, the opposite of chowder. My kids eggs were cold.. I can go on about the food. To top it off I heard the waiters complain about the kitchen staff while cursing (I have little kids). The food was less than ok, the wait was too long and the waiters were very unprofessional. EASTSIDE LOCATION read more

Waited twice the proposed wait only to go up to the counter and discover the reason we hadn't been seated yet was because people were getting on the waitlist online AFTER we already were on the waitlist. Make it make sense that online waitlist is higher priority than people sitting and waiting in the restaurant already. Will not be attempting this location again. read more

Nice breakfast locale, fluffy pancakes, hot bottomless coffee, great service. This place gives a diner feel, more IHOP than a Denny's. However, there's a bar for adult breakfast beverages and turfed space outside to play cornhole and soak in the El Paso rays. I enjoyed the shrimp and grits. My daughter totally devoured her full sized mango and berry waffles. The eggs were fluffy and the sausage patties were uniquely seasoned...they're not your Jimmy Dean sausages, folks. They do have a kids menu. My son enjoyed his chocolate chip pancakes. He wanted to also try a fired chicken biscuit, but it took a long time to get out. We beat the crowd and our second order just didn't make it out as fast as our first order, but we wouldnt hold that against the joint. Diego was a standup server and the Management Team checked in on all their guests regularly. This egg was broken right! read more

We came on a Sunday morning so I expected it to be busy. The service was severely lacking. I was quoted a 10 minute wait. 40 minutes later they say they had a glitch with my spot on the waitlist. Once seated our service was incredible slow. I took forever to place our order and then forever to get the food and check. The food was okay. Not bad but nothing to write home about. I will not be returning and don't recommend. read more

I lucked out and found a seat at the bar (it's always packed here for brunch on the weekends). Shrimp and grits was amazing, they've got plenty of other fun creole twists on breakfast too. Coffee was great. Always a solid choice when I'm missing Shreveport or NOLA food. read more

We came back on a Saturday morning and had a much better experience! Staff was busy, including training new members. I was able to try the Abe Famous bloody mary. It was very good and had a great presentation! I was a little startled by the okra as part of the toppings, but I guess for a cafe with a southern flair it makes sense! We split the beignets again - delicious! And my husband had the crab cake benedict - the English muffin was not tough this time, the potatos were hot and crispy and overall it was just a better visit! In particular our server had a great attitude and was very attentive read more

Super great restaurant. The food was really good, huge portions, hot and fresh. Our waitress was really nice, friendly, helpful. The restaurant itself was really cute. Clean, inviting, spacious. So I gave this place a try and you never know what to expect. Well, i have to say this place is worth checking out. The food was delicious and the service was great. I believe it was the manager who mentioned not to park next door or you'll get a ticket. So make sure you park in the restaurant's parking area. Then the food was great. I came around 1 pm, and had a late breakfast, which was superb. Give this place a try. It is well worth it. And prices are pretty reasonable. read more

This was my second time visiting and brought my family to try it. Just like the first time, the ambiance is super cozy and charming. It definately has a cool southern vibe. Love that. The prices are decent and the service was great again. The only reason I am not rating this place a five is because of the unimpressive chicken and waffles. There was actually a problem with my meal at first but the manager was super accommodating. But even if there hadn't been a problem, the chicken and waffles were just eh. The tortilla soup is still actually my favorite meal at this cajun style eatery....ironic, lol. I will add that their beverage menu was long and their beignets were delicious. read more

Rude personnel. Made us wait in the sun and after the wait told us we were not welcome since it was a "training" . Very unorganized. Very rude. Very inconsiderate. It's not a good way to open a new business. Correct your website so we don't waste our time. read more

I had high expectations for this restaurant. If you're used to good food, this restaurant is okay. The mimosa wasn't that great, and the food wasn't bad, but it wasn't up to the advertised standard either. The service in general didn't seem bad. Unfortunately, the waitress who served us was extremely rude. When I spoke to her in Spanish, she became quite impolite. It's sad. read more

I had breakfast there the first week it opened. The food was so so but I paid my bill and had occasion to go next door to the Mobil store to inquire about new service. While there I checked my bank account on my phone app and discovered that I had been billed twice for the one breakfast and it truly upset me. I returned to the breakfast cashier and showed her the double charge on my bank card which I had on my phone She said it would be corrected . Since that day I have never returned . As for the service , it was acceptable .except for the error in the charge. I really didn't notice a change in the ambience from the days that it had been the Village Inn. read more

First time here and I really enjoyed it. 25 minutes but they had coffee and Jenga game setup outside. It wasn't too hot out so it was actually really nice to chat outside while we waited. Ordered the Southwestern scramble and spiked brew coffee. Food was great. Spiked coffee was nice. I honestly dont think it was spiked but it tasted good. Area was Clean and comfortable. Another Broken Egg Cafe is a very great place. I have been to one in South Carolina, which was good, but this is just better. Starting off when you walk in, we were seated very fast, and I got a hot chocolate, in their famous mug. Very great! When the food came, crab cake eggs Benedict with grits, which was great! My brother's potatoes were good! Now the service. Our waitress was the nicest I've ever met! She even gave us a nice dessert, which were fried biscuits and marmalade, which was very kind. It was very clean in there, with some nice artwork of El Paso. This is some great competition with Village Inn and Butter Smith. I will be coming back!! read more
