I want to love this place. I really do. But I don't. I live in the neighborhood and would love to have a really great coffee shop/brunch/lunch spot down the street. I have been to Mas y Menos 4 or 5 times now, and every time I hope that my experience will be better than the last but, sadly, it disappoints every time. The Pros: The space is spacious and bright, the ambiance is nice, they have free WiFi. Nice work space. The Cons: Every coffee I've ordered (usually a cappuccino) has been almost undrinkable. Acidic with an unpleasant aftertaste. Ordered a matcha last time instead, which was a better choice. The service has been disappointing. Every. Damn. Time. The place has never been full, but at each visit I've been kept waiting for an unreasonable amount of time. One time my husband and I went only for a glass of wine and were kept waiting 20 minutes for the person behind the counter to pour the wine. Went again yesterday. Friends who arrived and ordered before I did were kept waiting for their sandwich longer than I waited for mine. When my avocado toast was served, the toast was cold. Really hope that the owner(s) see this message and do something to make improvements. If the service, and the quality of the coffee and food were better, I would be here all the time, given that I live just up the road. As it is, I stop in about once every six months hoping for a better experience, but that hasn't happened yet. read more

I visited the place for the first time and it was early afternoon. It was a very chill ambiance, tranquil music, I asked for their favorite cold drinks and I went with the brown sugar latte. It was pretty good! Will visit again as their location good and the staff was also nice. They have daily specials too! read more

I don't know what happened, but this morning was a nightmare we waited 30 minutes for our lattes. At first the person taking orders was also making drinks, but I guess the true barista didn't show up until 10am? We ordered food and finished our food before we got our lattes. We took a glass for water and there was no water in the communal jug, plus one of our "clean" glasses had an orange piece of food stuck on the side. Gross. We were overcharged by $5 due to not having the original food item we ordered being available. The girl at cash register said "okay I'll refund you!" but never took our card. We watched our bank statement have a pending for the overcharged amount. 20 minutes later we approach her again, she's like oh let me have your card and we inserted the card and the refund was given. That makes me think she wasn't planning on giving us our refund because initially she didn't even ask for our card. She just told us she would do it and then totally forgot about us. Really disappointed in the service. The avocado toast was tasteless. The chilaquiles were okay. My brown sugar latte was meh, I feel like I would have been better off ordering from 2ten or Starbucks tbh. On top of that, it was so hot inside, the AC isn't working well. It just wasn't pleasant to be there, the place was dirty, and the workers seemed understaffed and overwhelmed. read more

I've been to Mas y Menos a few times over the past year and I have found that it is genuinely one of the best places to get a great cup of coffee. I went here today and got the pour over based off of the beans available and was suggested a fruity flavored coffee that had incredibly blueberry notes and a smooth aftertaste. I haven't had the food here yet but definitely recommend the coffee. Overall, definitely recommend and will be back for more. read more

What a sad state of affairs on this visit. We ordered the usual caprese panini with side of chicken posole and I wanted to try something g different by ordering the turkey sandwich also with a cup of posole. The panini was a hot oily mess that was a pesto overkill. The turkey sandwich (two slices of toasted bread, deli turkey, Gruyère cheese, tomato, and greens) was nothing spectacular and honestly something I could have made at home with ingredients from Walmart for a fraction of the cost. Our sides of posole (the item that brought us here) was nothing more than tepid broth with 4 kernels of posole, devoid of chicken, and overpowered by red onion and radish. Also missing was the usual side of tostadas. We asked for water and we're given two dirty glasses and directed over to a water jug with less than a glass of room temperature tap water remaining. I guess ice would have also been too much ask for. I had been here on two previous occasions and had two great experiences . However today we walked in anxious and hungry and walked out depressed and wondering if we'll ever be back. read more

While I was back in town for the holidays, I came to Mas y Menos for a coffee date (gasp, I know) and I have to say this place has really turned around. Looking back, it's easy to see this establishment has really gotten it's flow and can churn out some great plates and drinks. I think what really stood out to me was how inviting the space was and probably one of the few spots in town, for a coffee shop, where it actually stays open fairly late. I saw folks here studying, hanging out with friends over wine, fellow coffee daters, and a little bit of everything. What's chill is that everyone was in their own space and you kinda zone out from everything around you. They not only offer coffee and tea, but they also have a solid beer tap wall (and wine if correct). When weather permits, take advantage of their enclosed outdoor patio space. It was the end of the work (WFH) day, and rather than wait to drive out later I decided to order in coffee using Favor. We both tried the mocha, and my boyfriend requested for his drink to be less sweet if possible. While we weren't at Mas y Menos in person to place the order, our runner let us know that they only had the 12 oz size available, not the 16 oz, and they weren't able to make the drink less sweet. It turns out that we were both ok with the sweetness level - it was for sure not overly sweet. My boyfriend really liked the flavor while I thought it was a bit above average, but it did wake both of us up! So mission accomplished. They've started charging 10 cents per to go container, which isn't bothersome but portrays an image of penny pinching, giving the notion of a business struggling with rising rent costs, labor costs, and material costs. First time at this restaurant/cafe. Seemed a nice place for studying as multiple people were there with their laptops and they provided their wifi password at the front of the cash register. Initially, the cashier was friendly and we ordered two lattes (Pistachio latte on top of pic and lavender chai latte on bottom) as well as a turkey sandwich and spicy Italian panini which cost ~42 dollars in total without tip. We sat outside since it was a nice day and inside they had water provided. Here are the pros and cons: Pros: The lattes were delicious albeit a little sweet. I recommend the lavender chai latte with a little less syrup. The girl at the front was quick and our meals were filling and delicious. Especially the sauce on their turkey sandwich which almost made the bread taste like a crouton. Cons: Outside gets a little too sunny in some areas if you are going to stay there a long time. The chips that come with the sandwich are vinegar chips, which we enjoyed but it was unexpected. We realized we wanted to give an extra tip so we went back inside for a small box and to put more in the tip jar. Baristas in the back were talking while another customer waited and they were a little rude. Rolling their eyes when we asked for a box and when we asked if we leave our cups at the table or bring them in, the girl gestured to their bins in annoyance. After asking again, she told us to put it under the hidden cabinet area and left. Not quite sure why they changed their attitude so much, but we overheard something about a shift change. Either way, it made us leave on a more bitter note than intended. Overall, a good place to have coffee and food to study if you don't mind paying higher prices. Service seems to be a hit or miss. This place is cute! Just a quaint little coffee shop that also serves beer and has a small food menu. I stopped in to grab a coffee and check it out as it's been on "my list" for a while. It was 84° out so I ordered an Iced Hazelnut Latte. Next time I might ask for a little less milk in my latte but it was still good. The space was clean and service was fast and friendly. Mas y Menos was on my coffee shops collection list for a while and their Instagram photos kept haunting me. So when my friend wanted to get together on Sunday I knew just the place! The outside and inside decore was colorful, peaceful and open. I must say I have never been in a more quiet coffee shop - everyone was on their laptops. My friend and I ordered and sat at the couch so as not to be too loud. We had a lot of catching up to do. The sandwiches were okay. The Chai Latte I had was perfect - just the right amount of sweet. This place is across from my gym - and I've always wanted to stop in. The parking situation can be a bit cramped - but it's in the strip mall, so you can find a place close by and just walk. The atmosphere is super cute, with patio seating outside that is covered. The inside is nice too with ample seating. Service is friendly. Coffee is tasty, and food (although limited and a bit over priced) - is delicious too. But good lawd, this place is S L O O O W. Every time I've gone, even if it is for a coffee, it's a twenty minute long affair. Went during the week and it was really simple. Wanted to try the guava mimosa and they ran out, so I did a fresh squeezed OJ mimosa which was good, but nothing particularly special. The egg sandwich with cheese and avocado was really good. I do feel like it would need the extra toppings in order to be so good. The ham and cheese panini was good too. Have to say that I am pleasantly surprised by the quality of the cappuccino I got... Did not expect much from the photos of the coffee I saw from this place. My philosophy is that a barista who knows how to make a good cup of Italian coffee has to know how to control the consistency of the foam, and thus, a good cup of foam makes up half cup of good coffee. And, yes, I did work on that myself as a hobby, even though I don't work in the industry. Anyhow, I was very happy about the cappuccino I got from here. Not quite up to Bldg 6 or 2 Ten standard for my personal opinion, but definitely a great addition to the community! The staff here are very nice as well! I'm a big fan of Mas Y Menos, just not their prices. It's one of the few modern coffee shops on the westside. Lots of seating, good coffee and pastries, and great food. It's a great place for studying. However, the prices are a little over the top. A drip coffee cost $3.52 for a typical coffee cup size, probably 10 oz. When I got a refill I assumed there would be a cheaper refill price like most places, but I got charged another $3.52. $7 for two cups of drip coffee is a little nuts. The food is also expensive. $8.50 for a PBJ and $9 for a caprese. I really like the spot but the prices need to come down. read more

Came for brunch!! We had the chilaquiles, smoked salmon avocado toast with a poached egg, and PB&J panini! Chilaquiles were good! I think the sauce needed more spice though. Our favorite was the smoked salmon avocado toast with egg. It was perfectly toasted and all complimenting flavors. They also included a side of chipotle mayo that they were able to whip together for me and it brought this to the next level! PB&J panini was classically perfect! I've been living on the West Coast for over 10 years coming back for family visits are always the best! El Paso's changed immensely with new eats & treats around the city. This space is something I've dreamt about during my old study utep village inn days. It's quaint, priced right, but most of all they carry local delicious coffee roasts and food that is cured by an onsite chef. I ordered a simple traditional chillaquiles dish w/ a poached egg.... it was perfect! Coffee, beer and wine. Do I need to say anything else? My book club ended up meeting here and it was a blast! I started with their dulce de leche coffee and omg it was delicious and I didn't need to add anything to it. I like my coffee sweet and while it wasn't Uber sweet like I like, it was sweet and flavorful enough that it didn't need anything else. I opted for wine afterwards and I felt so fancy at my book club with a flute of Moscato. The girls all loved it and I can't wait to go back with my husband to just read or do homework. Beautiful ambiance and the service was just amazing! I wish it wasn't so far from me but It's worth the drive from Far East. Next time I'll take pics though. read more

If you need a new study spot that includes alcohol after a long day of studying, then this is the spot. Perfect place to study, get some work done, or have a drink after work. It is little cute cafe/taproom on the west side. The interior is very modern with plenty of spaces to study, and some comfy couches. I couldn't tell if there were many outlets though for computers. They have 25 taps of craft beers that are $5 from 12-6pm during the weekday, and then Tuesday and Wednesday are 1/2 off wine. I did not try the coffee but they seemed to have a good selection with plenty of sweets to go along with it. Highly recommend you go check it out. read more

Drove from Far East specifically to visit this trendy "hidden gem". Establishment is very clean, comfortable, and dog friendly (I thought I was home!?!!). Ordered a Nachos, Chamomile Tea, and a draft beer. Sat outside in patio and enjoyed their WiFi as I surfed the web. WiFi was strong. Service was friendly and attentive. Cashier (Long Hair man) checked others to make sure everyone was comfortable. They had brownies for samples (I took three pieces, sorry not sorry, they were soooo delicious!!)
