3rd tavern is a go to spot for myself and my old coworkers near northwestern. It has good beer, good food, and a solid outside seating area. I've had multiple food items here and all of them are good. You can't go wrong with anything though don't expect your socks to be knocked off. It's all just really good bar style food. One recommendation I will make though are the killer nachos. Those were pretty solid. Only complaint I really have with the place is the fact that they don't have a drink menu which gets pretty annoying when I just want to read the options rather than sit and listen to the waiter list everything off. Wow, these folks have really taken great steps during this pandemic. I ordered delivery through the Yelp site. The food was delivered contactless and sealed in a special tamper proof plastic bag that had small vent holes so the food did not get soggy. When I opened the bag, the aroma of a great meal waisted out. The food was nice and hot- especially the queso and chips, and I know it was delivered safely! Kudos! Ordered to-go 8 piece of wings. With each order you can choose up to 2 flavors. I got 2 orders, so I was able to try lemon pepper, original hot, honey and garlic Parmesan. The bartender who answered was very impatient and rude; from that point I knew it wasn't going to be a good experience. Had to wait 5-7 mins to pick up the order as they were chitchatting with my food in their hands; extremely unprofessional. The ambience inside was decent since they have an outdoor patio that's more appealing. Coming to the food, the wings were poorly cooked; the outside layers for the lemon pepper and garlic Parmesan were all over cooked so i wasn't able to taste any lemon or garlic flavor. I did not enjoy any flavor of wings, very underwhelming. I would recommend to absolutely avoid any food from this place since flavors were terrible and service was very bad. Also, the wings are charged at 12.75 plus an additional 0.75 $ to go fee!!and this wasn't disclosed over phone when the order was made. Your friendly neighborhood watering hole. The food is typical basic bar food - just Ok however the service is always great, bartenders are friendly and the beer is cold. We like to go on Sundays to watch football and we've met some really nice locals here as well. Don't forget to check them out for live music on the patio on Saturdays and Sundays! read more

This was my first time here. Thanks to my bestie and her crazy run group I was able to experience this bar somewhere on the west side. It's not bad at all. There's a lot of sitting area both indoors and outside. The bartender was pretty cool. Although they didn't have any apple cider. I know...I like my ciders. They had trulys but wasn't feeling those. We were here on a Tuesday night for a full moon run. It was the start point and end point for the run. I can't remember if we ordered food, but the vibe was pretty chill. Decided to give it another try. Nope. Same thing...I'm guessing the people that go there are from the local businesses. Nothing but a bunch of trouble makers, power drinkers and staff over serves them. It used to.be such a cool place to go hang out. But now, coke heads in the restroom, and power drinkers. Security is non existent. So close to my house to just chill and hang but....oh, I forgot, the service. Forget that. It's non existent. Haven't tried the food again. Staff was rude and food took too long to come out. No other customers were in the establishment and when asked the bartender that was on her phone to check our food she rolled her eyes before leaving to the kitchen. I had my 10 year old son with us and and another employee advised us that minors were not allowed in the bar. We took our food outside and sat at a taller table in the cold weather. 5 min into eating our food ANOTHER Employee came out and said minors can't sit at these tables. My wife and I have been here several times for a cold drink and it's usually packed. The crew is friendly and efficient. The food we tried today was very good. My burger was fabulous. and the rolled tacos were amazingly tasty. Next time we'll try the green rolled tacos. Nice clean local pub. Their doors open at 10 for breakfast. read more

Horrible service!!!! Came to see a band with my girlfriend, when I came to the bar to order a drink the bartender asked for our IDs but my girlfriends was expired but showed the email stating the ID has been ordered. The bartender was going to give us drinks but the manager stated she could not serve her. Which was understandable yet in the time of being there I did not see the "manager" ID anyone else. My girlfriend accepted that they can not serve her but when I asked for my drink they did not serve it to me even with a valid ID. I believe she denied service to us due to our sexual orientation! This could be an awesome spot. But the servers need to be step up their game. Yes they are nice and pretty. But you have to flag them down for EVERY drink even when the place is not busy. I am a regular here (it's close to home) and tip very good, you think they would pay better attention to my table. Servers don't bring napkins or Utensils. Servers don't check back to see if food is yummy. This is sooooooo awkward to try to flag down a waitress. I have been a bar tender before and know they probably find that annoying but if you don't wave at them, you will seriously wait over 30 minutes for a beer refill. Overall experience here was horrible. The service was horrible and beers weren't very cold. Bartender/server "Breanna" isn't very attentive. Let me rephrase that... she is very attentive if you are a friend of hers, she couldn't seem to unglue herself from the corner of the bar where she was very friendly and talked to her friends for what seemed like the whole time we were there. When she was finally able to get away from the bar, she passed our table several times without even checking on us. Mind you, there were probably about 10 people max in the bar. Oh yeah, when it came to ordering something to eat. It was about 30 mins from the time we got our first beer until the time she came back to the table to see if we wanted to order anything... when the food was finally ready, it seems that it flew straight from the kitchen window onto our table (our food was tossed onto our table by the bartender) I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND this place to anybody, it is "bartenders" like her that make good bars go to crap! read more
