As always, Smashburger is a great and reliable fast food stop. I typically order the Single Bacon Smash Burger, a side of Smash Tots, and an Oreo milkshake. Everything has always turned out fantastic. They are also handling the pandemic very well by spacing out seating and offering take-out and pick-up options. The only thing that has disappointed me here is that the online ordering system has never worked properly in my experience, although you can easily just call in if you're looking to order ahead. Let's get this straight. The food was absolutely delicious. Got a chicken smashed burger. Got one of the spicy burgers and got the smash fries and smashed tots. They were delicious but the reason why they're getting two stars is the service was absolutely horrendous. I have heard so many great things about Smashburger and my son asked to try it for his birthday. He had a regular cheeseburger and I tried the truffle mushroom swiss. He was less than impressed and as an eight year old he has a strong opinion on a good burger. After all they are his favorite food! For me it just wasn't the WOW I had hoped for. The staff was so kind at this location. We went around 1:00 and it was not crowded at all I believe there may have been one other family? We had our order for dine in they made the food perfect and it was out within just a few minutes long enough for both my mom and me to fill our drink cups but not too quick to where we were being rushed at the drink counter. A good place to grab a burger if you are hungry and in a hurry. The garlic fries did not have much garlic after taste which is great. The burger itself was tasty, though it could use a bit more salt in it. Staff was friendly, and just like everywhere else, some of them could not pry themselves from their cell phones. Had high hopes about this place because people kept telling me how amazing it was. Well when I first tried a chicken sandwich from here and then a burger with sweet potato fries each time...I wasn't impressed. It just taste as a average burger from a fast food place. Nothing to keeping coming back or completely raving about. It could have just been my taste buds. Their fries didn't even leave a mark, they tasted as frozen and then dropped in the oil type of fries. They do sell alcohol for you liking. So im that awkward person who was on a diet but wanted to taste a lil bit of the bad stuff too... I ordered their goat cheese and spinach salad with a side of smash fries and an oreo milk shake lol. Might as well have gotten the burger for the full experience. But judging by the happy faces from my coworkers and from the looks of their burgers, they looked excellent. What i heard about for awhile was their smash fries and how good they were so i had to try them. And whenever there is oreo milkshake, i gotta try me some! Smashfries were just ok. They had this garlic butter parm on them so i imagine thats what all the hype was about. Wasnt too thrilled about it to be honest. They were also on the soggier side which i am never a fan of. Their oreo milkshake was pretty good with good chunks of oreo but it was too thick and icy for my liking. Goat cheese and spinach salad was pretty good! It had chunks of goat cheese, shredded parm, diced tomatoes, and a balsamic vinagrette dressing. The grilled chicken added to it was good but kinda pricey for a pretty thin slice. Tasted fresh and good but still underwhelming for the extra price. I guess it would do more justice to try their actual burger rather than just fries, salad, and milkshake lol. I ordered the bacon avocado club burger with garlic rosemary fries. The burger came with plenty of fresh avocado, tomato, and lettuce with a delicious burger perfectly cooked with crispy edges. I ordered the garlic rosemary fries and they were delicious, but a little light on the garlic and heavy on the rosemary. I would have preferred the other way around. The place was very nice and clean and the staff was friendly. We beat the lunch rush and it was one of the best burgers I've had in a long time! This place is definitely worth checking out! COVID update Thank you smash burger!!! First to describe this place for people who haven't tried it. I would say it's comparable to Five Guys. Why I would give this a 5 star today it's mainly b/c they are good to the Camp Westbrook people and have a system down to serve them. For those who are enjoying Camp Westbrook they take a 25 dollar minimum. They are organized that they can put different bags per order. They know what your going through and know what questions to ask so that the food will come to you. The times they start delivering is 1300 and 1330 and 1530 so call at least an hour a head. Smashburger reminds me of one of those schizophrenic chains that can't decide whether it's a fast food pickup joint, a short order kitchen, or a full-on sit down diner which...happens to serve short order food. Not bad, in fact...but I wouldn't write home to Momma about it. The fries, for me, were a let down. Some adjectives come to mind: hilariously thin, slightly stoic, overcooked and overhyped. Seriously, I can't believe my wife said the fries here were amazing. The fries at Whataburger are ten times better. I'm just sayin'. Also, they had their A/C blasting cold air like a frost machine at Dairy Queen. Even though it's only 70 degrees today. Nice one, guys! One plus is they have their own WiFi with the password posted on the inside of the entrance. Which I love, because it means I don't have to reluctantly ask one of the servers for it. I hate that about other places. It's like...if I'm already paying for your food anyway, you should automatically provide paying customers with the password. Stick it on the bottom of the receipt if you have to. So there you have it; my Smashburger review. Not that bad. But more or less middle of the road for me. I must be falling into a trend because...I honestly haven't been able to give any restaurant on Fort Bliss a rating higher than 3 stars, ever! It's only 5 minutes from work, so it's been my go-to when I'm craving a filling lunch. the regular size is enough for me (smallest of the three available burger sizes). If you're looking for some afternoon food-coma, you can always add a side of fries (I prefer the regular fries over their special Rosemary fries; or veggie fruits to be healthy)! Today when I came to smash burger I was treated with such kindness. Which told me off the bat my experience here was gonna be a great on. I came with a friend of mines to have lunch. I had the signature burger in my city which properly named fort bliss. I also order a drink and a side of smash fries. We took our seats after placing our order and we wait for our food which came out fast. The fries where hot and fresh you can smell the rosemary and olive oil on the fries which is there signature fries(highly recommend). They asked if we needed anything we did in fact ask for ranch which they lady kindly brought us. The food was fantastic they place was nice and clean. I love the concept they have going on.
