    Messy sauces

Generally pretty good but this last time, and very touchy feely male waiter that made the girls feel uncomfortable. Plus, messy sauce containers. See photo. The FIFA game was on so, that was good. Food is a 4. The waiter and the sauces, 1.5 maybe a 2.

We had a large party and they seated us in a private room near the front. We had great service from Liz. The food was served all at once no one was waiting for theirs. The food was good. I have the ascedero green chili burger. There was a mixup with the cooking temperature. But they graciously replaced it. Chili poblano soup was fantastic. I recommend everyone to try it not too spicy but very tasty. The drinks were spot on, and the wine that I had the sweet red was absolutely fabulous ! Everyone had a very good time and I can't wait to go back! Reservations are a good idea .

Service is always nice and friendly. Ambiance is peaceful and nice. Sports on the TV on a Sunday so it's perfect. This is the most consistent steak restaurants in El Paso IMO. Usually cooked perfectly. Great variety of drinks. Today I was a little disappointed. I paid for dehydrated grasslike asparagus. With the quality of this restaurant I'm really surprised they served and charged for the asparagus. It was like dry grass. I've never seen asparagus like that in the store let alone served at a quality restaurant. My steak was a little undercooked for half the steak. Their heat wasn't consistent. Half my steak was cooked perfect medium and the other half was rare. There was a lot of grizzle in this steak today. It was my only bad experience for food out of many visits. I still recommend but I was disappointed today. Service was great as always though.

At 59, I'm ticking off a bucket list item. Driving across America. I am currently in El Paso, TX having started in Tampa, FL and will end up in Fresno, CA. so, I have been thinking about steak & West Texas Chophouse looks very good. Indeed, they lived up to their Yelp reviews. I had a 20 oz. Bone in Ribeye (the way God intended ) cooked medium with backed potato. I won't be slapping my mother but I will call her later this evening , to sing the praises of this excellent piece of meat. Particularly the char. It is the best I have ever had. If this placed served a dish that consisted of nothing but the end pieces (where they hug the bone) I would have to consider moving here. That char was perfectly blackened & bursting with flavor. The baked potato (which was backed in an oven & NOT microwaved) was very good also. The Alex's Philly Cheesecake was not as good as the steak but it got the job done. I sat at the bar so the service was immediate but the unsweetened tea tasted like I was the second person who drank some all day. This place is large (it has 'Texas' right in the name!) & because you have to do parking lot gymnastics in the full parking lot, I expected a little wait on this hot Sunday afternoon. Happily there was no wait. It has a high barn-like roof that amplifies customers talking to a semi-comfortable background cacophony but the steak was so good I entered into my own little world. The only down side was that the steak & especially the backed potato could have been a little hotter. If I ever wander through these parts again, I will definitely return. 4-stars

Stopped in for dinner with a coworker on a work trip. The restaurant was pretty close to full, but we were seated right away. I'm not sure if our server was new or just in the weeds. I would've rated a four without the subpar service. My old fashioned was great. I ordered a ribeye and was pretty sure it wasn't when it hit the table. Our server seemed a little overwhelmed with what seemed like a very demanding six top seated behind us. My steak had a good flavor and temperature. When my bill came it was less than I expected. That's when I noticed I was charged for a sirloin. I was thinking my ribeye was pretty lean. Mystery solved. Very nice dining room and decor. Music wasn't too loud, and lights weren't too bright. Pretty sure this was my first time here. I would be willing to give it another shot.

If you're in El Paso, Texas, and someone suggests Cattleman's Steakhouse, save your time and money--go to West Texas Chophouse instead. We ordered the New York and top sirloin cuts, and both were absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection at medium rare. The atmosphere was warm, comfortable, and inviting. Our waitress, Jolene, was outstanding--her service was spot on and really elevated the experience. The only area I'd suggest for improvement is at the host stand. The three young ladies working the front weren't very welcoming, and their approach to customer service didn't quite match the otherwise excellent vibe of the restaurant. Overall, I highly recommend West Texas Chophouse if you're looking for a great steak and a great dining experience in El Paso

Enjoyed the restaurant before my flight. It's close to the airport. Beautiful inside, romantic. Nice stop on my way back to Florida.

Service- Friday night dinner wait was only 5 minutes. However, big group wait was about 30 minutes. Angel, server, very nice and prompt with drinks. Angel, server, must have been in training because he was slow in coming back with a requested such such pepper, more ranch etc. It was a busy place, But you gotta up your game on busy nights. Ambiance- I like the decor with the full size trees with lights and white leaves. Noise level way to LOUD! I really enjoyed the upbeat country music. Food- muscato by the glass is always sweet just like it (Paolona, Italy). House salad could have been better. It was a large size and only two 1/4 tomatoes. 12 oz rib-eye medium rare was out of this world. Moist, savory and tender. Baked potato was big and was ok.

Dinner here is good, not great. My 8 ounce Filet Mignon was slightly overcooked and looked silly next to the biggest loaded baked potato I've ever seen. The potato was undercooked and there were hardly any toppings. The bone marrow is very tasty, but sparse. The wine list is well curated domestic. Service was very good.

As we were seated our waiter took 10 min to great us and then another 12 min to bring our drinks. I didn't think anything of it yet it was a precursor to the rest of our dinner. After he took our order our kids food came out in a very timely fashion but our two orders of salmon and one steak sandwich took 40 min to arrive at the table. What a ridiculous waste of my time because my sandwich was missing the fries ordered and our waiter thought nothing of it till I brought it up then he took another 10 min to bring my fries. All this while simultaneously forgetting the sauce for the salmon which also took another 10 min to bring out. The salmon was so dry it was tacky and stuck to your teeth. If you know the feeling you know it's bad. The rice that came underneath the salmon was crunchy and way undercooked. All while the waiter was like oh I can bring you free deserts for your wait all while I could only think about how I just wanted to leave. I was internally livid and exhausted but kept it to my self after seeing the owner or manager who we the guy with the white hair over at the bar enjoying a few alcoholic beverages meanwhile his restaurants service and waitstaff to the worst possible job they can. I saw the people who got the most attention and good service were all regulars sitting at the bar laughing it up with the manager/owner older guy. Why not make sure your restaurant is running smoothly and food is being delivered and prepared properly and stop trying to impress the regulars who most likely will show up either way. Any restaurant that is this unorganized and unmotivated is due to crappy management. All this and the waiter is like I'll comp you for the steak sandwich with a discount for the bad service and salmon which was a whopping $5. I don't want a discount I don't want free day old desserts I want good service and decent food. Discounts and free desserts will never fix the problem because it will always be a crutch for trashy customer service. How about stop drinking with the guests and whoop that staff into semi decent shape buy some high chairs and make sure your expo does a once over quality check on the food and time it takes to get to the table EVEN if that means stepping in and doing it yourself. The restaurant is dark the tables are sticky the whole place is very compact . Perfect and quite attractive after 5-6 wines for sure. I'm sure the food is outstanding after a few drinks as well . They gave us a $25 dollar gift card to return which if I could I'd give to the owner so he could experience the same horrible food and service we did. I wouldn't even give the gift card to someone I hated. This was one of the first times in a long time I didn't just let it slide because I understand all restaurants and people have bad days but this was exceptionally bad. If you are thinking it can't be that bad think again it absolutely can. The whole "I'm sorry we usually have awesome service and everyone loves our food it's probably just me and my family " is laughable . This isn't my first time here while visiting El Paso. The food is getting worse.

The staff was incredibly accommodating, and our waiter was attentive, knowledgeable, and so helpful with recommendations. The amuse-bouche of watermelon with Tajín-style seasoning was a refreshing and thoughtful start. The wedge salad was the standout of the night, generously portioned, perfect for sharing, and absolutely delicious. The pesto spaghetti was equally impressive, with a beautifully balanced sauce that wasn't overpowering. I ordered the miso black cod, which was cooked perfectly and beautifully flaky. While it leaned a bit salty for my taste, the quality of the dish still stood out. The ambiance is dark and intimate, perfect for an upscale dinner, and the iPad menus were a helpful modern touch. Overall, the exceptional hospitality and standout dishes made this a wonderful dining experience, especially after a long travel day. I would absolutely return.

Mind you the only other table that was there when we ordered was a two top and a three top that had received their food already. I was finna get the 6oz sirloin, which I have before and it's nice. Then I saw the 8oz Helen breast anyway you want it. Mmm I think I'll get that instead. Then I'm scanning on down the list and see 8 oz chopped round. With mushroom gravy. I can't do potatoes right now but I could do rice. And add a salad bar and some steamed broccoli, still only be about $21 and that's with the ice tea. And fresh baked bread and butter at the table. So I ordered that with gravy in the rice, cuz I likes gravy on it ALL, and I did add the Broccoli for $3.95 and a salad bar for $4.95. But she let me hold putting in the order so I could get most is the salad are before they started it. So I get it fresh, not sitting on my table for 20 minutes getting cold like last time I came when I barely got back to the table with the salad and they brought my steak out. The cook FAST here. Salad bar here is IMMENSE. And so many choices for salad, Romain, mixed greens or spinach, tons of toppings and at least 10 different kinds of dressings. At least 6 different what I call "prepared" salads like macaroni, potato, carrot, pea salad, beets and onion salad, some kind of angel hair with green online and bell peppers on olive oil and black pepper and a dash of vinegar? It's so good when they have it. Two soups always, today was tortilla and vegetable, which upon inspection looked more like a creamy potato with carrots and other veggies and diced potatoes of course, maybe they just had not changed it's name plate. I make a wonderful salad and thoroughly enjoyed it. Love chilled plates. When my lunch/dinner came it was on a huge round plate, the ground round was suspiciously SMALL. I used to work in a cafeteria and we sold 8oz chipped steaks and they were rice the size of what was in my plate. It actually really looked more like a hamburger patty. It would have fit perfectly on a small hamburger bun. If I had to guess I'd say head it's 1/3rd pound burger. Which is a tic over 5 oz. Not 8 ounces. The brucellosis was a large serving and bright green, and almost still raw. I could not cut it with a fork. I had to used a steak knife. I should have asked that it be steamed fork tender. That's on me, I guess. I just don't like "steamed" broccoli that still could pass as salad bar accoutrement. There was no gravy in the rice, even thought I expressly asked for gravy in the meat and rice. So as she sat the plate in front of me and asked if I needed any this else I said "gravy" and she said oh that's right it was supposed to be on the rice, I'll get some gravy. And a minute or so later another smiling lady brought me small bowl of gravy. The sweet tea was perfect. I even had a refill on that. The ground steak was cooked nicely, juicy and hot, the mushroom gravy was very flavorful and the rice pilaf was a perfect companion to it. I forgot to take pics, sorry, I just dug right in. This is still a great early dinner price and great choices. I'm definitely gonna get the 8 ounce chicken breast your way, next time. But which way shall I choose??? Decisions, decision!

Casa Pantera-Mexican Contemporary Chophouse…read more This place is a MUST! Loved everything about it! The restaurant's ambiance is striking, featuring Tulum/Riveria Maya-inspired decor that combines elements with modern aesthetics. The use of wood, metals, warm lighting, and overall dining room and outdoor terrace displays and creates an inviting dining experience. Service: The service is attentive and knowledgeable, with server who was eager to recommend several of the restaurant favorites. Not one dish we did not like-all amazing! Culinary Highlights: Mesquite Grilled Spanish octopus was Smokey yet savory. Cooked to perfection also served with Fingerling potatoes and salsa macha The bone-in ribeye (prime) cooked on a firewood grill was a true highlight of the menu, showcasing the restaurant's expertise in preparing a distinctively rich flavor entree. Cooked with beef tallow (no seed oils) chefs kiss Smoked beef short rib was so tender and had Oaxacan quesillo potato purée with tomatillo jam. Simply did not disappoint. Street style corn with chipotle aioli had us all going back for seconds. The sweetness of the corn balances with the smokey, spicy notes of the aioli. Craft Cocktails: Well balanced and wide selection of Tequilas to choose from. I can't say enough good things! Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply enjoying a night out with friends or family this restaurant is sure to impress. Our Group agreed that it was a meal and experience that will leave lasting impression. We will be back!!!!!

It felt like a place you'd want to hang out for a while. Definitely make a reservation because it fills up quickly. Service was a little slow at times, but our server was super friendly and helpful with recommendations, so it didn't take away too much from the experience. The bone marrow was AMAZING!! Easily one of the highlights of the night. We also ordered the Delmonico with bone marrow butter, which was cooked well and really flavorful. Drinks were great too and very well balanced. Overall, this place is a solid 4 stars, pushing 5. Great atmosphere, good drinks and some really standout dishes.

The concept is brilliant, Mexican and American flavors elevated. The boutique hotel is beautiful, a reminder to future diners to look up as they have flowy lights that go up and down (mesmerizing). I really looked forward to this place and wanted to like it but the service just dimmed the meal. We went for a graduation celebration and did not feel that. I do acknowledge that we show up quite late since the graduation ended late. We placed our orders right before the kitchen closed. Throughout the meal, we were not offered extra bread, a dessert menu, or even a mere "Congratulations" from our server. A kind gentleman who seemed like the chef did come to check on the food and congratulate us. He seemed to actually care about the guests. I would love to come back to see if the service improves because the cooking deserves 5 stars here.

Walking in, there was a cool flower art installation hanging over the tables, which was a really unique touch and probably one of the more memorable parts of the space. That said, the overall vibe felt a little bland and didn't quite match the hype we were expecting. Food-wise, the experience was a bit mixed. We ordered a ribeye, but it unfortunately came out pretty cold. We let our server know and he did take it back so the kitchen could warm it up, which we appreciated. The table bread that came out was also on the dry side and not very impressive. The spicy margarita ended up being one of the better parts of the meal. It wasn't actually on the menu, but they made one for us and it was really good. We also ordered fries, which were solid, and the bone marrow (called "Mexican butter") was easily the highlight! It sauce that it came with! 10/10 It was rich, flavorful, and definitely the best thing we tried. ‼One quick heads-up for anyone visiting: there's a nail sticking out of the handrail going down the stairs to the bathroom, so just be careful grabbing the railing on the way down.‼ Overall, there were a couple good items, but the experience felt a little underwhelming compared to the expectations from the reviews. Maybe it was just an off night.

Forget the table. The best seat in the house might just be at the bar…read more We settled in with Cruzita behind the bar--arguably the coolest name in the building. Cruzita translates to "Baby Cross," which somehow made an already great name even better. From the start, she was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience feel effortless. One of the best parts? You get the full menu at the bar, so you're not missing a thing. We started with the veal ravioli, which received the highly technical and thoroughly researched review of: "So f*ing good. So good though..." Honestly, no additional notes were needed. Then came the 8-ounce filet, potatoes au gratin, and creamed spinach. Everything was excellent. The filet was cooked perfectly, the sides were rich and flavorful, and those famous sizzling plates reminded us that patience is, in fact, a virtue. The portions won. We ended up packing up leftovers and taking dessert to go--a carrot cake and crème brûlée. I've had the carrot cake before and can confirm it's worth the hype. The fact that we were stuffed and still ordered dessert says everything you need to know. What really stood out, though, was the overall experience. The customer service was fantastic, the vibe was relaxed, and the atmosphere hit that sweet spot: lively enough to feel like you're out enjoying yourself, but not so loud that you're shouting across the bar. No awkward silence, no overwhelming noise--just comfortable. If you're headed to Ruth's Chris at The Fountains at Farah, don't overlook the bar. Great food, great service, great atmosphere, and if you're lucky enough to land a seat with Cruzita--Baby Cross herself--you're already off to a great start. Five stars from me and from the person still talking about that ravioli.

We originally ordered 2 tomahawk but later found out they didn't have anymore. That was disappointing, but the manager did come over and paid for our appetizers. Sides that we ordered were good. We ordered mashed potatoes, lobster Mac and cheese, asparagus, and Brussel sprouts. We had a bottle of wine at the table ready for our guests - this was their first time at Ruth's Chris. Overall, thank you for the service but there was no hospitality. I had to stand up and explain the menu to my family members, I had to stand up and pour wine into their glass. I had to constantly ask the 3 servers to please pick up dirty plates/dishes. For the price you pay, the service has to be better in order to bring me back. A party of 10 is a large party.
