horrible waitress service today 2/24/26 at about 12:30pm. My parents went to eat on their 58th anniversary and they had a rude waitress. All they did was order their drinks and food and she forgot about them after they got their food and had a rude attitude. Just despicable for mediocre food. They will not be going again and i recommend not to for anyone in that area near albertsons on yarborough. read more

The steamed veggies are the best in El Paso and the portion is humongous! We had a lovely waitress, very pleasant and sure kept our drinks refilled. I had the country fried steak which is usually awesome. Not so much today. It was so overcooked that the breading all fell off when it was cut into. This must be my week for overcooked meat! The owners of this restaurant used to operate one in Tucson, Arizona. We missed it so much that we drove from Tucson to El Paso for our anniversary dinner. We both ordered fish- I got the broiled Haddock dinner and hubby got beer battered fish sandwich with fries. It's still the best coleslaw he's had in his life! I forgot just how good their ranch beans were The owners and staff treated us like family ! It's a very nice relaxing place for 2 to dine or groups! Almost all tables were occupied (good sign) but mostly moms and kids(not a good sign for good burger joints; no offense but no hunks&no smokes would lead to no good burger) Since this was my first time, i ordered Original Burger with Onion Rings and smoked sausage plates as appetizer - waiter told me that they didn't have a smoker and not much know as "BBQ" - I just wanted to know how on earth they put BBQ ribs, sausage and briskets in the menu without the smoker(I tried for you so you shouldn't order them - no need to thank me lol) I would like to ask the cook to grill the sausage then sliced them to serve - it looked like 1 sliced and 2. Finished in the oven or broiler Too greasy and not much of flavor but extremely salty (evaporated all the juice but sitting in the fat) But I enjoyed the OG steakburger - fresh and crisp vege set - 4 stars worth Onion Rings - Sysco or any food vendor items N/A ; not from the scratch Sauce - N/A ; I don't think not many burger joints make their signature BBQ sauce no more why? I had a terrible experience last night 3/25/25 at this restaurant. I am here from out of town visiting my elderly parents. I lived here over 10 years ago and had many fond memories of this restaurant growing up as my family and I would frequently patronage this business but that will be no more! To sum up the experience: The server Tamara brought out the wrong plate for my dad, they had to remake it. Same server brought out the wrong plate for me twice, so by the time I got the correct plate my family was done eating and my appetite spoiled. Note: Tamara never apologized for the errors and instead never returned to our table and never once did the manager come to our table to address the multiple order errors. The manager Jordan only came to us at the front with the cashier when we contested the poor service. Jordan was argumentative and very unprofessional. Instead of listening to our bad experience and acknowledging us- the customers, she instead passive aggressively blamed the customer and never offered a genuine apology for the negative experience, rather she fanned the flames. It was an offensive experience. After all this, I requested to get the contact information for the district manager so I could report this bad experience and was told by the cashier it would be the owners who are above the manager and the restaurant is the only number. So I left my name and number asking for them to call me. I'm hopeful they will call so I can share this horrible experience with hopes these business owners care enough about their customers to make note of the errors made by their staff so they can make an effort to re-train the server and manager to be professional and do better in these situations. Until that happens I highly recommend people seeking a nice restaurant: do not give this business your hard earned money. Instead find a business that cares about its customers and provides quality service. read more

FOOD: Decided to give this place another shot after a horrific food poisoning incident I experienced at the hands of their haddock platter two years ago. (Yes I reached out to the restaurant, and no, no one gave two hoots as no one ever followed up.) This time we decided to go with the steak, because how can they mess it up. I asked for medium and it was definitely NOT medium. It was VERY MUCH rare. SERVICE: The the first server was quite surly ...As nice and empathetic as we were trying to be, the server wasn't having it. Luckily there was a shift change towards the end of our visit, and the new server is the only reason we have any stars on this review. (Second Server gets 5 ) ATMOSPHERE: There seemed to be a service manager that was seating parties that also seemed to not be in great spirits -- the atmosphere was just blah overall. Staff will take their queues from upper management, so if they're in a crappy mood, so will their team. Service is a tip pull and for this reason I believe it is not attentive. I am all for teamwork. However, this is non existent here. You spend your time looking around trying to get the attention of any worker to help you with a drink refill. When you ask they all give you an attitude as if you are bothering them. I've been going to Great American Steakburger for many years! The food is very good. The staff is efficient and friendly. However, last week, my usual perfectly cooked salmon was very undercooked. I had eaten some of it before I realized how undercooked it was. Christine, the manager on duty, went above and beyond to fix the problem. My wife and I went to have lunch for my birthday. I ordered the 14 oz. ribeye and she had the tampiquena steak. It took some time to get our order but I've seen worse. My steak was mediocre. We both were bone dry on our drinks and our server, Naomi, never found her way back to our table. She went as far to drop off our check half way through our meal and told us that if we wanted dessert to call her back. Despite waves to her she was completely focused on one large party and couldn't care less about our experience. This place has my favorite hamburger . Thick and juicy, cooked the way you want it! I like mine medium, pink in the middle. You can have green Chile, tampequeno mushroom, grilled onions, etc. it comes with wonderfully seasoned steak fries. Today, I chose the rib-eye struck sandwich only $14! It had a wonderful steak on it. And it was huge! You never leave hungry and I usually make two meals out of whatever I order. One of the safest restaurants I have dined in since the beginning of the pandemic. Social distancing is strongly enforced. I didn't even have to open the door to the restaurant; the hostesses take care of that. It's a small building but beautiful on the inside. Extremely large portions for their entrées. Well worth the price you pay. The chicken breasts are seasoned perfectly with their own Great American seasoning. The Haddock lightly battered; and the shrimp finished off the perfect plate. They also have a Steak Tapiqeña that was succulent. One of the best steaks I have had in a long time. The service staff were attentive and polite. A great dining experience! read more

Walked in for lunch with my husband. The waitress came to help and we ordered our drinks. I asked about a lunch special and I could tell she was not happy that I asked. She told me they didn't have one, which is fine. We ordered food, she never came to ask if there was anything else we needed while waiting 45 minutes for our burgers. I watched her walk around us and ask everyone else if they needed anything. I finally asked the bus boy to let her know I need to speak to her. I told her there was a couple that entered with us and they already ate and left. She looked at me rudely and said I'll check and walked away. After 10 more minutes, I asked the busboy for a manager. The female manager came and began to apologize that my ticket was overseen. I told her at this point I didn't care anymore, but I told her she needed to get rid of that rude waitress that ruined my appetite. I asked for my tab and she told me nicely it was ok and offered I take my food to go. I was so mad i told her nope just keep them and charge her. Horrible service!!!!! I only come here for three items that are I'd say the best on the menu. 1. Ribeye steak sandwich done no more than medium or you'll ruin it, add side of grilled onion and steak fries. 2 chicken fried steak with steak fries gravy on the side so it stays crunchy! 3 beer battered fish and steak fries with beans and coleslaw. The fish is awesome a little greasy but definitely very tasty with their own twist on tarter sauce not the usual pickle mayo dill sauce your used to (just to let you know in case your not adventures )you can't go wrong! I gave this place 5 stars! They could have been a little more organized with the seating and with the back being empty and the front being crowded but.... hey. My food was so good! Hugo was a great waiter, we didn't have to ask if we wanted refills and he was on point with asking how things were going. The young lady who brought our food gave us an inside tip which was awesome! My burger was so good. I hate that I love it so much that it is gluttony. My inner fatty wants to always eat the whole thing because it's so so so good! Excellent ribeye. Great service. Was looking for a place with some good eats while in El Paso and Yelp steered me in the right direction. The reviews said the ribeye was good, so that's what I ordered. Fantastic! I also liked the coleslaw. The baked beans were just eh. Nice sized baked potato. Ordered the BBQ Brisket which was not the type of brisket they claim. It looked and tasted boiled. There was a puddle of watery grease at the bottom of the dish. The portion was small and at that cost $25. Really doubt there will be another visit in the future since no one seems to care anyways, especially based on others reviews.
