If I remember correctly, I entered El Paso on a Monday or a Tuesday, and The Reagan was super quiet. I was informed (by more than one party) that it's packed on the weekends. That makes sense. This place has a speakeasy vibe but with an almost classy sensual undertone. It's definitely unique. I had an Old Fashioned after a long drive from San Antonio. I thought I was celebrating after a poker room in SA just made a verbal agreement with me for good money after a three-hour conversation with the owner. However, he was apparently upset I posted a video from another club in SA that was 40-minutes away and only runs one game. He was also afraid to tell me this and a coward. Solution would have been: "Can you please take that video down?" Whatever, dude. Part of reason that business won't last. A business should be run with honesty, respect, and transparency. Anyway ... at The Reagan, a biker dude came in and he was a singer in Germany because he met his German wife in the US when she was watching one of his shows and introduced herself. He was about to go back to Germany but heard good things about The Reagan so drove an hour on his bike to see it the day before he left. And he was impressed. We talked for about an hour about many things. If you visit El Paso, The Regan is a must! It's like being in a movie. Which movie? Maybe a mix between a 007 movie and Boogie Nights. read more

The Reagan Salad is an explosion of flavors: berries, candied walnuts, red onion, mesclun, with the right amount of a properly-made balsamic vinaigrette (not made with mayonnaise which is culinary sedition!). The mushroom tacos were delicious, but way too salty, and hotter than summertime in Laughlin. The Crème Brûlée was amazing, though tragically too small. Dark ambiance and film playing on the wall was unique, only that it was Pulp Fiction and Uma Thurman seemed to spend a lot of time foaming at the mouth from overdosing. read more

Wow - what a neat place. Great gastropub/bar downstairs, great (vaguely R-rated) lounge upstairs. And I enjoyed both - with fantastic service in both areas (I'd particularly like to recognize Jordan downstairs, who clearly was going out of his way to make our supper a perfect experience yesterday - Jordan, thanks so much!). Every drink I had at The Reagan was made with care and with quality ingredients, and it was presented in a way that made it feel special. What a treat. And the food we had (a flatbread, olives and a caprese salad) was not only delicious, it was fun and it was reasonably priced. We will be returning to The Reagan; honestly, knowing about it makes us more likely to return to El Paso sooner than we would have. read more

We loved this place such a nice vibe. Low key but also lots going on. The drink selection was not like any other we had seen. The service was great the bartender was super nice and gave us ton of recommendations. It is located downtown and close to other bars and lots of parking around the area. I did not see any food options but we were only there for drinks. One of the drinks had edible art. A few tequila options. The Reagan has been one of my favorite bars for a nightcap while in town. Whether it's with family or my boyfriend, the music and ambiance has always been fun. On the weekends I've noticed they lean towards 80s music which is so much fun. What makes me grin a smile from ear to ear, is that beautiful espresso machine they feature at the bar. One of my fave espresso martinis I've had in the city. Y'all also have to try one of their smoked old fashioned. Presentation was fun, but a signature old fashioned was just as great. They also have a second floor which is a little bit more intimate. You can also find a smaller bar on the second floor for quick access to drinks. Bathrooms are pretty fun and the wall paper has a great touch. read more

I loved this bar. Hands down one of my favorites I've ever visited. We went at 5:00pm on a Saturday and didn't have any wait. It was getting busy around 8:00pm, but still nothing crazy. The atmosphere was great! Plenty of quirky and edgy decorations, as well as movies playing to keep your attention. The location itself had such an interesting interior and was very clean. Our server was attentive and very helpful in making recommendations. We got the charcuterie board and a meats flatbread for food. The charcuterie board had a great variety of meats and cheeses ranging from spicy to mild. I loved the jam and variety of meats. The flatbread was a touch spicy, but in a way that added to the flavor. It was $30 for the board and just under $20 for the flatbread. I had three different drinks: the Hanky Spanky, daiquiri, and Pineapple Puppe. The first two were well worth the money. The Pineapple Puppe was good, but I don't think I'd order it again for $20. I think it was that much because of the overproof rum. The Hanky Spanky was citrusy and tangy, and my favorite of the night. The daiquiri was not a usual tangy daiquiri, but had great pineapple flavor and cute moth detail. The Pineapple Puppe was served in a skull. Go there for the drinks. Not the food! To start, they only have flour tortilla tacos. Their carne asada tacos are ground beef tacos! How is that possible! As a native San Diegoan passing by, this was pretty ok food and vibes. Food was 4.5/5 we had the Spaghetti (meh) and Flatbread (bomb). Drinks were averagely priced especially since we were rolling with California wages. This entire place has stuff you'd see maybe a step below the Gaslamp in San Diego. The service was a solid 3/5, but I was also hungry from a long drive, so perhaps this is me and I also know im demanding. Had I not waved the bartenders down for food or drink, I probably would've sat with one drink the entire evening. When I sat I had to ask the bartender for the drinks list. The two bartenders kinda cold and kept to themselves and busy, but it does seem like an uppity trendy place and they were definitely working. You can tell they had a good work ethic. Just maybe need more socializing. Not sure, but in San Diego our bartenders can multitask--prepare drinks and socialize (hint: it leads to much better tips). Good vibes bring more spending. We came in yesterday just looking to spend cheddar, but capped it as it wasn't my vibes. Too cold with the folks there and I was feeling social and friendly. HOWEVER: Honestly, I'd totally check it out if you're in the area and don't mind just being left alone. I enjoyed most of it except the lack of warmth or enthusiasm from staff. You can control your vibes, folks. I can see how this appeals to businessfolk who don't like to be bugged. I'm so glad I stopped in and I'm even more excited that there was only seating at the bar. If they would have given me a shovel instead of a fork I would have been able to take this delicious food into my mouth faster. It was fabulous. I had the eggs Benedict with smoked bacon and it was delicious. Also I tried a Bloody Maria and that too was perfect. The menu is different for brunch with flatbreads, fritattas and brunch boards. The lunch menu includes Bahn MI and poutine so I'll be back. They serve an old fashioned called The Reagan and it features a rye with a local washed beeswax in it and lavender bitters. My waiter was Josue and he was very attentive and pleasant. Alex was my bartender and he was great too. The music was upbeat and there was a great crowd so I hope everyone had the same awesome experience that I did because I will be back for s ure. read more
