We were looking for an interesting place within walking of our hotel for dinner on a Tuesday evening and saw this pop up on a couple of quality searches. They're known for creatively risky craft cocktails and their thick burgers, so we dove into both, including bacon/cheese burgers and the filthy martini ($18, gin with sardine brine and blue-cheese-stuffed olives!) and the Chupa Mi Chili ($20 Sotol, chili syrup, crema, bitters). She loved the salty/bitter martini (not so much me Lol) and I really liked my Chupa, although about half foamed out of the glass (see vid). The burgers were excellent as were both the roasted veggie and shoestring fries. It was empty when we walked in around 7/7:30 but by 9p it was approaching half full... not bad for a Tuesday night. The Reagan has an inviting atmosphere with a somewhat eclectic decor. Their service is excellent as you are greeted upon entering and promptly receiving your drinks. The food was exceptional. If I remember correctly, I entered El Paso on a Monday or a Tuesday, and The Reagan was super quiet. I was informed (by more than one party) that it's packed on the weekends. That makes sense. This place has a speakeasy vibe but with an almost classy sensual undertone. It's definitely unique. I had an Old Fashioned after a long drive from San Antonio. I thought I was celebrating after a poker room in SA just made a verbal agreement with me for good money after a three-hour conversation with the owner. However, he was apparently upset I posted a video from another club in SA that was 40-minutes away and only runs one game. He was also afraid to tell me this and a coward. Solution would have been: "Can you please take that video down?" Whatever, dude. Part of reason that business won't last. A business should be run with honesty, respect, and transparency. Anyway ... at The Reagan, a biker dude came in and he was a singer in Germany because he met his German wife in the US when she was watching one of his shows and introduced herself. He was about to go back to Germany but heard good things about The Reagan so drove an hour on his bike to see it the day before he left. And he was impressed. We talked for about an hour about many things. If you visit El Paso, The Regan is a must! It's like being in a movie. Which movie? Maybe a mix between a 007 movie and Boogie Nights. read more

Wow - what a neat place. Great gastropub/bar downstairs, great (vaguely R-rated) lounge upstairs. And I enjoyed both - with fantastic service in both areas (I'd particularly like to recognize Jordan downstairs, who clearly was going out of his way to make our supper a perfect experience yesterday - Jordan, thanks so much!). Every drink I had at The Reagan was made with care and with quality ingredients, and it was presented in a way that made it feel special. What a treat. And the food we had (a flatbread, olives and a caprese salad) was not only delicious, it was fun and it was reasonably priced. The Reagan Salad is an explosion of flavors: berries, candied walnuts, red onion, mesclun, with the right amount of a properly-made balsamic vinaigrette (not made with mayonnaise which is culinary sedition!). The mushroom tacos were delicious, but way too salty, and hotter than summertime in Laughlin. The Crème Brûlée was amazing, though tragically too small. Dark ambiance and film playing on the wall was unique, only that it was Pulp Fiction and Uma Thurman seemed to spend a lot of time foaming at the mouth from overdosing. read more

The Reagan has been one of my favorite bars for a nightcap while in town. Whether it's with family or my boyfriend, the music and ambiance has always been fun. On the weekends I've noticed they lean towards 80s music which is so much fun. What makes me grin a smile from ear to ear, is that beautiful espresso machine they feature at the bar. One of my fave espresso martinis I've had in the city. Y'all also have to try one of their smoked old fashioned. Presentation was fun, but a signature old fashioned was just as great. They also have a second floor which is a little bit more intimate. You can also find a smaller bar on the second floor for quick access to drinks. Bathrooms are pretty fun and the wall paper has a great touch. read more

I loved this bar. Hands down one of my favorites I've ever visited. We went at 5:00pm on a Saturday and didn't have any wait. It was getting busy around 8:00pm, but still nothing crazy. The atmosphere was great! Plenty of quirky and edgy decorations, as well as movies playing to keep your attention. The location itself had such an interesting interior and was very clean. Our server was attentive and very helpful in making recommendations. We got the charcuterie board and a meats flatbread for food. The charcuterie board had a great variety of meats and cheeses ranging from spicy to mild. I loved the jam and variety of meats. The flatbread was a touch spicy, but in a way that added to the flavor. It was $30 for the board and just under $20 for the flatbread. I had three different drinks: the Hanky Spanky, daiquiri, and Pineapple Puppe. The first two were well worth the money. The Pineapple Puppe was good, but I don't think I'd order it again for $20. I think it was that much because of the overproof rum. The Hanky Spanky was citrusy and tangy, and my favorite of the night. The daiquiri was not a usual tangy daiquiri, but had great pineapple flavor and cute moth detail. The Pineapple Puppe was served in a skull. Go there for the drinks. Not the food! To start, they only have flour tortilla tacos. Their carne asada tacos are ground beef tacos! How is that possible!
