The Best Roof Top Bar in El Paso!! El Mirador Bar Rooftop downtown El Paso is a really cool destination for open bar with great cocktails and some great DJ on Friday and Saturday night! Situated on the 10th floor of Hotel Paso del Norte; this place is often forgotten as many guests go to the Dome. But this is a rare find for cocktails and engaging music! DJ PrinceJett knows how to drive the crowd to new level of musical hysteria! You can also visit the place for a good Whisky as the bar has its own barrel of Maker's Mark Private Selection. The hotel was recently invited to the Maker's Mark distillery to pick the perfect whisky barrel to bottle and made it their own. This is also a destination for Chef's dinner where sophisticated menu are offered. Check their website for special offering - For example, this coming Monday you can get tickets for the Chef's Dinner: Father's Day Grain & Berry Dinner on June 19th here:https://tickets.thecitymagazineelp.com/.../chefs-dinner... The service was great, despite a very crowded evening. Our server Kimberly was super dedicated, smart and friendly and recommended to us a host of great cocktails. Try their Illegal Mezcal Margarita; Hornitos Silver Margarita and the Mirador Mirage. I also love the fact that everyone is welcome - no club elite selection at the door! a view of a city from a rooftop

I tagged along tonight for the preview for the Paseo De Norte Autograph Hotel collection's newest restaurant lounge El Mirador. It is so cool you guys, the grand opening to the public is tomorrow night from 5pm-midnight and I recommend that you come check it out. The view is amazing, the food is really good, and the drinks are strong...it's been 4 years in the making and it's time to show off. I got seriously lost since the main street that is directly in front of the hotel is closed. Luckily I called and the front desk was so sweet and stayed on the phone with me to help direct. You want to go off Santa Fe and San Antonio, there's $15 dollar underground hotel parking or you can park in the public lots around and just walk over. The food is "tapas style" but was pretty generous for tapas, I've been to Spain and those portions were tiny. This is more like Supersized American style tapas, lol. I don't quite remember what I ate except for the unbelievable burrata salad, because the drinks were so potent. They were sugary sweet fruity drinks that packs a punch. I've included the menu pics. Views are unreal, you can see the city and beyond. I didn't realize we were so close to Juarez until I was on that roof and the bridge is literally down the street. They have this cool elevator for drinks and I've never seen it vertical before, only in circles, so that's pretty neat. The bar is on the 10th floor and you can go straight up from the parking lot, but I recommend you stop by the 1st floor, it's gorgeous there too and tonight was Ladies night so there was a lot of activity happening. I'm super tired since I normally don't stay up past 9pm nowadays with kiddos but just wanted to share this with you since you're going to have a chance to check it out tomorrow. Go and #supportlocal we need more cool spots for catching up with friends or just staycations... "Grand Opening of @ElMirador.PDN!!! Located on the 10th Floor of @HotelPDN l, El Mirador is a rooftop cocktail lounge that over looks Downtown El Paso & Ciudad Juarez, and features craft cocktails, tapas and an extensive selection of fine wine (by glass or bottle), craft beer and the availability of Bottle Service." https://fb.me/e/2aKai6ndp

Kitchen staff from 1700, El Mirador, & Hotel Paso del Norte for the special chef's dinner

We attended the chef's dinner at El Mirador and had a wonderful time! Beautiful plating, good service, and nice flavor pairings. I especially loved that the chef came out to introduce each dish and celebrated each of his kitchen staff at the end. It takes a very special leader to honor his staff and realize how integral they each are to the meal. We will definitely be back for more!

So I, of course, feeling the need always to explore new cocktail bars or restaurants in my hometown when visiting home, was pretty excited for the opportunity to check out Hush Hush. As a true millennial Gemini, I celebrate my birthday for the whole month, so I quickly texted my family and friends; this is where I wanted to go. What I love about Hush Hush is how it's encouraging and pushing folks to step out of their comfort zone in their attire and dress more to the vibes of this cocktail house (Think Soho, ABA, Casablanca, and Elephante). You're bound to see more desert tones, muted colors, flowy pants, basically anything resort wear. It's cool to see this cocktail house make you feel like you're not in El Paso. The music is different, more loungey, to where you can hear everyone at your table. Of course, there's still a DJ, but damn, Hush Hush is intentionally geared for those who love to go out but need top-shelf cocktails without the eye rolls or the bartenders staring at us with blank eyes. Hush Hush is a true game changer. The lines might get crazy, but I suggest getting there early so you can snag your photos and a solid table/spot. There are three main bar areas, but my fave was the velvet room. I suggest catching a drink on the second floor if you get there early enough to get an eagle eye's view of the establishment. Attention to detail was on point, and I appreciated the homework and research done before the opening of this spot. It's an elevated experience for the city and one I wish every city in the States had tbh.

Since I was with folks who grew up in the adjacent neighborhood we all appreciated the house being repurposed with thought and they have done a nice job turning into a quaint bar with a large patio area. Decor/vibe - 5* The overall vibe of this place is great. We visited on a weekend and there was a live jazz band, who were quite good though it is definitely loud inside during that time. If you have an Apple Watch it will complain to you about the dB registering over 85 for sustained periods of time. In this instance it was about 90-100 the entire time we were there. Throughout the inside there are tabletops with seating and standing, the bar is long without overcrowding the seating which is a nice touch for those sitting at the bar vs those simply trying to order a drink at the bar. There is plenty of area to stand or sit out on the patio as well and one can still hear the live band which makes for a great ambiance. I'd recommend the patio area as the vibe out there is great. There is a bar service area outside connected to the interior bar area though it was not actively setup when we visited. Well thought and makes service streamlined without running between patrons. Food & Drink - 4* The drinks we had were good though nothing on the menu is super "craft" cocktail if that's what you're after. The wine and beer selection is decent as well. Service - 5* The bartenders are very attentive and did a great job balancing the number of people without service times being too long. Pricing - 4* Subjective but IMO nothing is over the top and the service was quick. Overall - 4.5* This is a cute and quaint cocktail bar for those who may be in a group or just taking a date after a meal nearby. I'd recommend visiting and we will all certainly be back!
