We checked out El Camino Crudo Club tonight. Both of our husbands don't like seafood, so we made it a girls' night out and were excited to try this new spot in the Cincinnati District. Parking can be a challenge, but if you look at the garage across the way, they only charge a dollar, and you can take the trolley, which drops you right off, or just walk across the street. We found close parking, which was great because it started raining later on. Walking up, it looked like a medieval prison with spikes--I'd hate to be the drunk person who falls into the structure--but inside, it covered a nice little patio with beautiful lighting all around. The bar itself is small. When we booked on OpenTable, only certain types of seating were available, and we found out why: they only have two booths of standard seating. The rest is bar or patio seating, but they made do with the space they had. It reminded me of a Miami Vice lounge in Florida, with mirrors and lights that changed colors throughout the night. The vibe was laid-back, and the music was amazing. Kudos to whoever selected it! We started with drinks. We both wanted mezcal, so I got the La Sirena, which usually has tequila but was swapped for mezcal--it was sweet. My friend got the Hilo de la Guayaba based on the waitress's recommendation, and it was also really good, though not as sweet. Service was attentive, and they don't skimp on the drinks. For food, we tried a variety of dishes. Portions are small but shareable, a bit larger than tapas. We ended up stuffed. We saw huge towers, including the "Oh S*** Tower," which was massive with sparklers when delivered to the table next to us. We started with oysters covered in a mignonette sauce (mostly vinegar and shallots), and they were fantastic, just like at Casa Pantera, another favorite spot of mine. We ordered several dishes, and everything was amazing: - **Hawaiian Walu Aguachile**: Ridiculously good with a combination of sweet, umami, salty, and spicy flavors. The salsa negro on top was perfect. The only downside was a small piece of scale or bone that poked my cheek, but that's the nature of fish. - **Santa Barbara Uni & Hawaiian Escolar Tostada**: Similar to the aguachile but with the added sweetness and butteriness of uni, and the crunchiness of the tostada added a good texture difference. - **Baja Style Cod Fish Taco**: A revelation. Perfectly battered cod with outstanding chipotle sauce on a soft yet toasted blue corn tostada. - **New England Style Lobster Roll**: What I came for, and it did not disappoint. Imported split-top brioche buns from Maine, creamy lobster, smoked roe, and brown butter mayo combined into a dazzling sensation. Highly recommended. The fries were super crispy and buttery, thanks to extra cornstarch. We couldn't eat any more--it was just perfect. This is seafood done right, even in the desert. It is a bit pricey, so it's definitely a celebration place or a great spot for drinks. They take walk-ins and reservations on OpenTable. Check it out--it's an exceptional addition to El Paso's dining scene. -TODOELPASO

We visited El Camino on a Wednesday evening around 5:30pm. We made a reservation, but they weren't super busy so you could probably walk in as well. It did fill up a bit while we were there, so doesn't hurt to make one just to be sure. For drinks, I have the Paloma and the EC Margarita. Both were very classic and well done, and beautifully yet simplistically served. We ordered the aguachile as an appetizer and it was delicious. Just spicy enough with the habanero oil, but also refreshing and crisp with the onions and cucumbers on top. I had the lobster roll and fries for dinner. Again, very delicious! It was flavorful without being drenched in butter like a classic lobster roll may be (which is also delicious, don't get me wrong). Service was very friendly and attentive from start to finish. Would definitely recommend, especially for date night.

all I have to say is that the service was phenomenal. Food was delicious. I ordered the Wagyu burger. It was so tender and so juicy for flavors along with the sauce poured along in it! The piña colada I ordered was just on point, and had more than one. Also had the ceviche because it's my favorite seafood dish from now on in the whole city.

Good place to have appetizers, ambiance is cool. Missing some elements with the food such as sides on main dish. The main dish is very small compared to other places around the downtown area. Loved what downtown area has become!

The food and service were amazing. Small spot so I would recommend making a reservation.

I've never had food here (I don't actually recall a food menu), but I've enjoyed beer and cocktails here. Nothing super memorable, but all good. The service has always been fine, but also not memorable. My 4 stars are for the overall vibe/ambiance, the varied seating options and good drinks. This is the kind of place that has a happy-to-stumble-into evening cafe kind of vibe. Especially if there's music. p.s. I've read the comment from the owner, but I looked at photos again carefully and I have the right establishment. I am a local and know the area. I've definitely seen live music here (I can add that it's been more than a year.) Perhaps there's been a change of ownership since then? Otherwise, I'd say that there are things occurring at the business of which you're not aware.

So I, of course, feeling the need always to explore new cocktail bars or restaurants in my hometown when visiting home, was pretty excited for the opportunity to check out Hush Hush. As a true millennial Gemini, I celebrate my birthday for the whole month, so I quickly texted my family and friends; this is where I wanted to go. What I love about Hush Hush is how it's encouraging and pushing folks to step out of their comfort zone in their attire and dress more to the vibes of this cocktail house (Think Soho, ABA, Casablanca, and Elephante). You're bound to see more desert tones, muted colors, flowy pants, basically anything resort wear. It's cool to see this cocktail house make you feel like you're not in El Paso. The music is different, more loungey, to where you can hear everyone at your table. Of course, there's still a DJ, but damn, Hush Hush is intentionally geared for those who love to go out but need top-shelf cocktails without the eye rolls or the bartenders staring at us with blank eyes. Hush Hush is a true game changer. The lines might get crazy, but I suggest getting there early so you can snag your photos and a solid table/spot. There are three main bar areas, but my fave was the velvet room. I suggest catching a drink on the second floor if you get there early enough to get an eagle eye's view of the establishment. Attention to detail was on point, and I appreciated the homework and research done before the opening of this spot. It's an elevated experience for the city and one I wish every city in the States had tbh.

That's the whole point of the establishment's existence. (No one else seemed to care about anything but hard seltzers and shots). The bartender said they could still make things from the previous menu, but they didn't have that available, either. She recommended two Jameson-based options, but could think of nothing else. So, I got a beer. I asked for any stouts or porters aside from Guinness, but there weren't any. I asked about one beer she said was "dark", but it was a Pilsner. I like pilsners, so I ordered it...but for the record, they are nothing close to a dark beer. I saw they had Crown Apple after I had started my beer and asked a different bartender if they had Coke Zero. I was told that when he wants a soda he goes to the bar next door. After an alarming number of exchanges, I learned that they DO have Coke, just not any diet varieties. Instead, I later chose a margarita. Yes, it's cute they serve it in a tea cup, but consider that tea cups are very small and there is ice, so it was almost a non-alcoholic beverage. DJ was cool, but, "all night disco" was really some mashup of a few disco/funk songs with some 90s hip hop and a good deal of 80s pop mixed in. Now, it was crazy FUN, but not what I was expecting. Definitely won't be back. I know there is the charm of drinking at grandma's, but it's really just a lousy hipster dive bar with thrift store art on the walls. The second star is just for having a fun dj (brought in a fun crowd).
