    Grandma's Living Room?
    Stephanie G.

Yay lit Grandmas living room! The drinks are tasty & boozy! The bartender, Gil*, is super chill & has great conversation. I came on a Tuesday around 5pm, not crowded at all. I was able to talk to Gil about what drink they were popular for & if it was for me. We settled on, Raspberry Green Tea drink. It was served in the cutest tea cup, I actually drank it like tea...oops...kinda. The next drink I had didn't have a name, we just had a conversation & he made it. I'LL BE BACK!

Just like grandmas house with the floral wallpaper, old school framed photographs and comfy couch! They have great drink specials and the cutest glasses. Perfect for a mellow night with friends but gets crowded quick. They also have bingo on Monday's :) 8/10 recommend

its a quaint bar that invites the hipster side clientele of say.. older richer folk? i'd call it trendy for say 30+ yo's? look like bunch of office type coworkers getting together for drinks, immersed in their own microcosms of pea coat lubber.. as it were.. i came for a lnsc event, britpop vs disco. and most of the nite less than a handful of other ppl dancing. lame af because music was good. not that igaf really, i dance what i wont! such a small dancefloor only fits like 10 ppl.. but shoutout to lnsc dj's for allowing me to access my inner grind ho for the night. bathroom is such fubar too-- 1 person at a time, 15 min wait to pp at prime time. to wit, it's a solid back to back with monarch, and between the two, drawing what seems to be a lion share of el paso's real music scene. yet more lounge than what seems not, i'd pick it up for a weekday drink, not to get that weekend twerk game.

The owner is chill and super cool. The bartenders are awesome. Had an amazing time. If you get to catch leni say hi

It's like your grandma's cozy house in Wonderland... but instead of tea it's craft beers and spiked lemonades.

This is my favorite bar in El Paso hands down , good music and good bar tenders. It's not for the basic b***.

Honestly though, if Grandma could mix a drink as well as this place can, I probably would have visited a lot more as a kid!

So I, of course, feeling the need always to explore new cocktail bars or restaurants in my hometown when visiting home, was pretty excited for the opportunity to check out Hush Hush. As a true millennial Gemini, I celebrate my birthday for the whole month, so I quickly texted my family and friends; this is where I wanted to go. What I love about Hush Hush is how it's encouraging and pushing folks to step out of their comfort zone in their attire and dress more to the vibes of this cocktail house (Think Soho, ABA, Casablanca, and Elephante). You're bound to see more desert tones, muted colors, flowy pants, basically anything resort wear. It's cool to see this cocktail house make you feel like you're not in El Paso. The music is different, more loungey, to where you can hear everyone at your table. Of course, there's still a DJ, but damn, Hush Hush is intentionally geared for those who love to go out but need top-shelf cocktails without the eye rolls or the bartenders staring at us with blank eyes. Hush Hush is a true game changer. The lines might get crazy, but I suggest getting there early so you can snag your photos and a solid table/spot. There are three main bar areas, but my fave was the velvet room. I suggest catching a drink on the second floor if you get there early enough to get an eagle eye's view of the establishment. Attention to detail was on point, and I appreciated the homework and research done before the opening of this spot. It's an elevated experience for the city and one I wish every city in the States had tbh.

Everything we had was very good. The menu is small ( a good thing). We didn't take pictures of the chowder or the oysters because they were in our bellies before we knew it. Had the chance to visit during their soft opening this past weekend with one of my friends who…read moreloves oysters just as much as me, and we both agreed that it is super refreshing to see an establishment like this come to town. Adjacent to the The Tiki Room, Pearl Divers features a rotating list of oysters from different regions at $3 a pop. We had the chance to try all three oysters that they were featuring for the day and we really enjoyed the palette. The oysters featured might've been limited but they had a major punch to them with flavor. My favorite were the ones that were a bit more briny, truly small but mighty. Your oysters are brought out with the traditional crackers, hot sauce, mignonette sauce, horseradish, and lemons. It was nice for them to all folks the chance to order in any quantity as I'm sure a few folks might be trying oysters for the very first time in a landlocked city. The had a finessed menu featuring carpaccio, tartare, and about ten to fifteen dishes encompassing appetizers to main entrees. We had ordered the carpaccio but it never came out (no biggie, again it was soft opening so we came in with an open mind). Since we got there a bit later in the day, they were out of frites and I am a loyal fan of oysters, frites, and bubbles (wine at the minimum). This just means we'll have to be back. What was most important to me though was the service and how friendly the staff was. We opted to sit at the bar (as one should at an Oyster bar) and be as close to the oyster display as possible. I used to live in New Orleans for a few years so sometimes when it's busier and you're chatting away they'll shuck an extra one to you every so often to try. I'm pretty stoked to see the dining scene continuously elevating and Pearl Divers is a nice rendition. I'll be certain to come back and can't wait to see what a five-star experience is out of their soft opening phase. *** If there is one piece of feedback I'd provide is to have smaller spoons for the mignonette and forks for the oysters. The current sizes are a bit too large and can easily ruin the integrity of the oyster when making sure it's been properly separated and not intact, as well as, not being able to have the right ratio of mignonette sauce for each oyster. The spoon was constantly hitting the mouth of the condiment cup.
