Probably one of my fave casual spots in El Paso where the drink prices are solid, music is fun, and the lighting makes it feel like a good time. Church Bar is a short walk from the San Jacinto Plaza and super close to Park Tavern. There's a few booths, a small outdoor patio, and bar seating. The bar itself was nice but I bouncers here are all on power trips. They insist that the bar is at capacity when we know it is not because it is dead. They honestly have very bad drinks, ordered a jack a coke and pretty much was just coke. Overpriced and overhyped. As a straight woman, I would rather go to the gay bars where service is better and the drinks are stronger! read more

Decent place inside but it is too small. The bartenders won't help you unless you are young or their friend. I tipped good first drink and gave them good business bringing in 6 people but they couldn't care to ask us once about how we were. They would realize the people that are willing to spend the most money if they weren't so oblivious. Terrible service. Manager wasn't nice at all. Two faced person. Gave us wrong directions, lied. Then proceeded to tell us we couldn't park our bikes there when they told us we could the first time. Would not recommend for anyone touring El Paso. Manager was a brown hair guy with a hat and a nose piercing. He's two faced. He accused us of if we weren't drinking we would've went the right direction. Not a business thing to say regardless if someone was drinking or not. read more

Kind of a "young" bar - not much selection but professional service. Loud music, heavy on the bass. Seems pretty fungible with many dozens of other such bars I've been in over the years, but I only spent an hour there. read more

Awesome bar and kitchen in the heart of downtown El Paso! We stumbled upon this gem while looking for a place to eat before the 9pm Curfew took effect; sure glad we found it!! Great food with a couple vegetarian options, decent selection of cold beer & mixed drinks!! And yes, COVID-19 compliant. Yes, vegetarian options in a bar! Upon walking in I figured it was a beer and tacos kinda of menu. But surprise surprise! Don't get me wrong the regular asada tacos were badass, but so was the Jackfruit Verde Bowl. I'm not a vegetarian but I really liked the jackfruit from this place it had a smoked brisket flavor. The asada tacos were awesome as well. Served on corn tortillas with red and green sauce. The red sauce tasted great and surprisingly packed a punch of heat as well. Unfortunately they were out of the birria tacos that night, but we'll be back! But yeah come check'em out if you're in the downtown area. Its walking distance from the Indigo Hotel and next door to Park Tavern. Great drink prices and excellent cocktails that won't break the bank. If you wanna watch a game, catch a UFC fight, Eat Tacos, Eat Vegetarian, or just wanna kick back a few cold drinks in a fun environment!! I think the building used to be Zona Centro. read more

They dont have an answer. Instead the guy said; "Im just working here!" So i guess no one knows about the history of this bar then?! Coming from different state myself i was curious. Ordered two shots of Patron for my friends last night from the female bartender and paid immediately (plus $5 tip) when we got the shots, there were limes dropped inside the shot and it was not patron (more likely Jose Cuervo sliver). Wait staff were great and friendly. However, there were a group of 4 of us around 10:30-11 pm and one of our friends in the group got super drunk due to the drinks she had at the baseball game previously and spilt ONE drink and broke a bottle by accident. When I saw the janitor sweeping it up, I told him I apologize for my friend and informed him that her husband went to get the car to take her home. His response was "whatever you've done this 100 times"...woah? not a good way to speak to customers at all, but I let it slide because maybe he was having a bad night. by the way, that wasn't true at all. less than 2 mins later, our friend that knocked everything over was SITTING at the table with her head down as she was waiting for her ride. I kindly mentioned once again to the janitor that I was sorry because I felt bad for him. however, his response was mind blowing. he forced my friend out and said "all of you need to leave with her right now" umm? huh? my husband and I were nowhere near drunk so I ignored his comment and walked my friend out. our friend finally leaves 5 mins later just to walk back in and find out that the janitor is forcing the waitress to stop serving us and kicking us out all because we were dancing at our table in our seats and having a good time. isn't that what a bar is for? absolutely horrible! I will never EVER be back to this place after the way we were treated. We were having a great time, and being a stay at home mom this night meant a lot to me away from my kiddo. for some reason the janitor wanted to act like an asshole. last I checked, the janitor isn't in charge. this place is shitty and clearly does not care about business. read more
