Please listen to all the 1 and 2 star reviews. The only reason this is a 2 star is because the sirloin sandwich was actually pretty good and well balanced. This might be one of the weirdest dining experiences I've had. When I first walked in, the staff looked confused as to why I was there, asking if I was lost or was looking for someone. After getting seated at the bar and ordering a sandwich and a tequila soda with lime, I got my drink but was told they had no limes... at a Mexican restaurant. Okay. Then, after I finished half my drink, the bartender George suddenly places 3 sliced limes in front of me, and asks me if I want another. I politely told him no and he poured some tequila in a glass and said he'd save it for himself. I thought he was joking, but i saw one of the other male waiters drinking an open bourbon and then later finishing the tequila he poured up. I also heard another table outside complaining that they had been waiting for over 20 mins and didn't get any waters or sodas sent to their table when they ordered. The place was pretty empty so this shouldn't have been a problem at all. Overall, management should really take note of the other poor reviews and make changes. Maybe more prep needs to be done, so simple things like limes don't run out at 8pm. Also, I don't know how professional it is for staff to be drinking on the job, but that might need to change as well. read more

I was a little skeptical to try this restaurant due to the mixed reviews. However my husband & I decided to go on a date night & let me tell you, we were impressed! The place has a dark, moody vibe. It is decorated with greenery & the accents are black & white. It is perfect for a date or girls night! They also have a patio with outdoor seating. The food was actually really good. For our appetizer we got the Ribeye Aguachiles; they were a perfect mix between sweet & spicy. For our dishes we tried the 12 oz. Arrachera & the chipotle shrimp pasta. Everything was delicious. The drinks were also 10/10. My only complaint is the food took a while to come out even when the restaurant was almost empty. read more

5/5 stars for atmosphere - there was live music inside (we sat on the patio, as it was much cooler than inside). I suggest moving the music outside as it was VERY loud inside. The place is beautiful though - transports you out of El Paso and into a lush tropical vibe instead. The waitresses seem very overwhelmed, unfortunately. Ours was great, but you could tell she was stressed with how many tables she had. It took about ten minutes after sitting to get seen, but the drinks and food came out very quickly after we ordered. The drinks and appetizer we got were phenomenal, but the entrees were meh. Not worth the price in my opinion. We went for our anniversary, and it was something new - we may try back in a month or so and maybe the kinks will have worked themselves out. Just tried out a restaurant called La Condesa with a friend. We wanted to have some drinks, but many of the items on the menu were not available, and they didn't have any hot drinks. So we ended up ordering one alcoholic drink and a water. Unfortunately, my water wasn't refilled promptly, and the server checked on us after we finished eating, probably because they wanted us to leave since we were chatting for a while. The menu had some interesting options, and I decided to try the sope trio appetizer, which was quite tasty. However, my friend didn't like her chicken dish, especially considering it cost $26 for just a piece of chicken with sauce on it, rice and salad. A tropical forest restaurant with nice lighting and seating, definitely lives up to the condesa vibe. Start off with a few drinks to get your Sunday funday going, the mix drinks are all delicious: ranked best to alright Cantarito (rum, coconut, guava), clamato, Pina colada (with real coconut), Silvia (gin, soju, pomegranate, citrus, butterfly tea). The calamari was a bit salty but they were nice enough to remake it for us, top service! The chicarrons was amazing with the guac and Jam. We had burgers and tacos, a bit pricey but all delicious. 10/10 rec! read more

We took a chance on this place despite the poor choice of colored lighting and tacky fake vines everywhere in hopes of a delicious meal, but was saddened to receive overly priced flavorless soggy pastor tacos ($15) and some mystery tortilla soup ($6) (tasted like it had shrimp in it ?) . They turn the music up so loud you cannot hear the person across the table . I wanted to include a pic with and without flash so one can see what impact visual aesthetic really does have . Overall wasn't the worst but if your in the mood for some delicious Mexican fare there are plenty of other options that are far tastier that won't gut your pocket as much as this place does . read more

Great vibes. Great Latin/ reggaeton music! Drinks were tasty but food was meh. The tacos don't come with rice or beans, portions are small and expensive. Ordered the potato tacos and they were literally 4 mini tacos made with mashed potatoes lol. The waiter didn't even mention this either. if i could put zero stars i would, this was by far the worst experience i have ever had with a restaurant. first off it i had made a reservation and didn't get attended at all when i showed up i stood at the entrance for 7 minutes before i decided to just walk in and ask about my reservation, restaurant was not busy enough for that to happen. finally got sat down and they took our drink request, waitress came back 15 minutes later stating she got mixed up and forgot our order. No big deal we told her again and then another lady came and asked for our drinks about 15 minutes later again and when we told her that someone else already took the order she gave us attitude and sighed saying "i will be taking over" at this point me and my gf have been seated for about 45 minutes and not even water was in front of us. i kept attempting to get the attention of someone in order to get some water but nobody would bat an eye. i ordered some steak and my gf ordered a sandwich, our food since we sat down took about an hour and 30 minutes for our food to arrive, my steak was cold... any good reviews you see are 100% friends of the owner or just straight up fake read more

We visited La Condesa for the first time on May 10th, Mexican Mothers Day. My significant other had a difficult time getting a hold of somebody and had to call over 14 times to get an answer and makes a reservation. He insist so much because he knew I wanted to try this place out. Our reservation was at 4pm, for 7 people. I'll start off by letting you know that the Montecillo area is not a cheap area to dine or shop, therefore, we knew the bill for 7 people was going to be a decent amount, however the cost this time wasn't equivalent to the service , food nor the location. Initially as you walk in they don't really have a greeting both, the hostess have a location near the edge of the bar where they have their personal belongings out on display such as lipstick and hair products. The hostess had no recollection of our reservation since it was a gentleman that answered my husbands 14th call and we where told that gentleman often forgets to let the restaurant know of the reservations ‍ She had a terrible attitude as if this was our fault and not that of poor management. She's a younger person not sure why she opted to work directly with people if she has such a poor attitude. She couldn't provide us a table because they where reserved and of course I was then confused since we had out reservation down too. She accommodated us at a booth. The booth are super low once you sit down. I am 5'5 and my knees where above my torso as I sat. The cushions where so flat and poorly designed you couldn't really reach they table comfortably. The booth also had a split in the middle seating area that was covered in cheap vinyl. We also noticed that the chairs at the bar are also covered in this mis of white and black cheap vinyl with bad metallic edging. None of the booth chairs match each other and have a terrible slit along the back of the poorly wrapped chairs. The light fixtures are all aligned poorly off of the center of the booths as opposed to being centered on to the booths. Our server was nice but we had to continuously ask for our drinks to be refilled. She kept forgetting things to bring to the table and the food took a while to arrive. We didn't order any cocktails nor apps because we really only stayed due to it being a busy day and we would have had a difficult time finding another place to take my mother to. We should have left but figured things would improve once the food got to our table. The food was a 4 out of 10, the tacos had cold meat and loaded with onions and cilantro. The shrimp I had was very good but came with 3 shrimp and the mashed potatoes under where non-existent. My daughters fries where so good but the burger meat didn't taste anything like Wagyu. We had it before and this was dry and not flavorful at all. My sons kids plate quesadilla has some cilantro and California chile inside, the quesadilla is a kids plate, it should be queso and tortilla de harina, that's it! I tried taking the condiments out but it was impossible, So that was returned and re-done for us, so we waited longer for his food. My other sons chicken tenders where hard as a rock. I didn't take pictures of my sons Neal but he didn't like the sauce the Chamorro was suppose to be covered in. He's had it before and he said this suave was very bitter. My mother liked her Aracherra steak. I tried it and both enjoyed the sauce it was smothered in. Overall the experience was a flop, we won't be returning and I suggest you make sure you really wanna spend your money at such a place to give it some thought. I'm glad El Paso is expanding and we are starting to see expansion of dinning experiences but this was not one we'd recommend. read more

The restaurant itself is really pretty. My friend and I were greeted by the hostess who sat us right away. We sat outside and the decor is beautiful, was very good weather for sitting outside and having our meal. We sat for a good 15-20 minutes before waving down the bus boy to let him know we were ready to order. He brought back a server who took our order. I'm always a little hesitant when they don't write it down and very impressed when everything comes out correctly, but that wasn't the case. We ordered the chicharron pork belly with guacamole as an appetizer, my friend ordered the condesa burger with truffle fries and I ordered the picanha medium rare with a side of papas bravas, chiles toreados and mushrooms. She confirmed our order back and read it back incorrectly, but we corrected her. I got a glass of moscato and my friend ordered the fruitiki cocktail at her recommendation. We got the appetizer and it was delicious, but the tortillas is comes with were cold and stale. No problem! Still yummy. The cocktail was delicious. She brought my friends burger out and the jalapeños and said "that's all you were waiting for right?" We told her we were still waiting for the picanha. She asked how I wanted it done again so she could put the order in, since she hadn't. My friend has garlic mashed potatoes on her plate instead of fries, which we told her was incorrect. Instead of saying sorry or let me get that for you, she lied and said "oh that's how it comes, it's not fries it's mashed potatoes" From pictures I've seen on here, that was not the case. We shared the burger as my food hadn't been cooked yet, and the burger was very tasty, as were the mashed potatoes. We decided not to confirm again about the fries because she clearly didn't want to put an order in for them. She brought the picanha and it was well done. When she finally came back and I told her it was cooked incorrectly she took the plate back and came back again later to tell us it had been removed from the check instead of remaking it. All in all, was not a very good experience in regards to service. What we had gotten to try was yummy, but the food is too pricy for the service to be lacking in that way. First off, walking in to live music was a huge plus, HOSTESS greeted us with a smile and very informative about the wait. For a Wednesday night the vibes were great. We decided to go to the bar and get a drink or just asked to be served dinner there but the rate dropped drastically as our bartender didn't acknowledge us for a very long period of time (many side glances) the bartender Kimberly was very rude with her hand gestures and sour face (many things happened in between waiting and finally being served, bottom line she was the sore thumb) I didn't see her smile once as she continued to walk around throughout the night. Definitely avoid the bar if she is seen. Our waitress Emily was exactly what this lively restaurant/bar needs, she was very sweet and attentive and able to give us detailed suggestions and guidance through the menu. This was our first time in La Condesa. We walked in through one door and we thought it was at the bar so we got out in the Internet, another one, and we were greeted by the owner manager that he would find us a table. The gentleman asked if he person that was sitting by himself in a huge table to give us a chance to sit. He recommended the Chamorro, which was a fantastic recommendation. This tomorrow was nothing like the pictures. This was a huge piece of the leg that came out of the bone by just Touching it it was delicious. I recommend everyone and anyone that likes pork to go eat a Chamorro. at a certain hour, they gave us a powerless firework that shot out sparkles. It looked really nice when the whole bar and restaurant turn theirs on the only bad thing about this place since you drink you have to check your tab because we were. almost over charge $30 for a salmon we enjoyed ourselves and had a fantastic evening . read more

Walking in we were greeted by a super friendly hostess. We had a reservation, but arrived late and she told us not to worry that she would sit us as soon as a table opened up. Considering how busy they were I thought that was really nice of her. The ambience is fun and the music is maybe a tad too loud for a restaurant, so if you're looking for a romantic environment this is not the place. This is more of a friends night out to pregame before going to the bars or just to have fun. The drinks we ordered were all very well prepared and we thoroughly enjoyed them and would have had more if our waitress Kimberly would have come by to check on us more often. She never refilled our waters and only came to the table to take our initial drink order, our food order, and then we had to hunt her down for our bill. For the food we had the chicharrón with guacamole, it was different and pretty damn good. Some said the portion was tiny, but I found the portion to be just right. For food we had the Ribeye tacos which were good flavor wise and the toppings were just right. But I don't know $28 for 3 tacos is a little steep in my opinion. My husband had La Condesa Shrimp which he loved and I must say were actually unique and very delicious. The batter they use I have never seen used on shrimp and they were battered to perfection. My friend's husband had The Cubano which he said was good, but he did say it had a lot of fat on it. Which I did warn him about because it is not shredded pork, it's pork belly. Maybe they should change that considering I have seen several complaints about that. But to their defense it does say it on the menu that it is pork belly. Overall I would recommend this place I had a really good time and left satisfied. The only thing is my throat was a little sore from yelling across the table so maybe they should consider lowering the volume on the music just a little, and maybe train the servers to check up on their tables more often. We could have easily ordered 3 rounds of drinks during our time there. But check it out and don't let the bad reviews deter you, judge for yourself. read more

I'll start with positive feedback, the place is beautifully decorated. The chicharrones were delicious. The rest of the food was average. However, they didn't have several items on the menu. We wanted blue moon, didn't have it. We asked for modelo. We asked for a second round of modelo, they ran out. We placed an order of shrimp, she came back saying there was no shrimp. Had to change our order. And there was something else that they did not have, but can't recall. The waitress said they had been closed for 2 weeks and didn't have several of the items. Then why open if not ready? Or why let us order to only be come back later and say it's not available? Also, the plates didn't come out at the same time. Not even close. My friend got her plate when everyone else was already done. The place has potential but they need to work on their service. read more

Don't waste your time and money! Ordered rib eye steak with garlic mash potatoes. They were drowned in this sauce that you couldn't taste the food. That night, I got super sick! We went to Condesa for a going away party. The reservation was made for a Saturday at 1:00 pm for 15. We ended up having 18 people show up. Our waitress only spoke Spanish and we had some people in our group that did not speak Spanish. It took a while for drinks to come out, I ordered Posole and waited 15 minutes before a waitress came out to ask if I needed anything (I needed a spoon to be able to eat my meal), and it still took another 5 minutes for her to bring the spoon. Food was okay, nothing amazing considering the price they charge. When it was time for our ticket, we were told they could only split the ticket 5 ways. Instead of letting us figure it out, the waitress started from one end of the table and started charging those people in their groups, so we thought that they had changed their minds and were going to let us all split it in more than 5 tickets. When it came time for the 5th person to be charged, without telling him, she charged for the rest of the table (almost $600), the tip was already added in, and we were left to figure out what we needed to cashapp him to make sure he got his money. Meanwhile, one of the first people that were charged was the one who had made the reservation. When she called, they had said there was a $50 fee for the reservation. We thought it was just a security fee and we would be charged if we didn't show up - NOPE! The fee was charged to her tickets for us utilizing their outdoor space. Mind you, we didn't even have the patio to ourselves!! They sat other people out there as well! I could see paying the fee if we were the ONLY group on the patio and did not want anyone else seated outside with us. Definitely not impressed, and will not go again. They make this place look a lot nicer on Instagram than it actually is. It needs work. The inside is smoky and you definitely come out smelling like a burger. I ordered a dirty martini that came out tasting like pure olive juice. Sent it back, and the second was just ok. My friends' margaritas were average. The tuna appetizer and nachos we had were fine. Again just average. I ordered the mussels and they were fishy and not very flavorful. Service is where they really really need work. Our server forgot things several times. Wasn't aware of certain items on the menu. Never refilled our water glasses. The kicker was that the table next to us had been set up by a hostess, then a server came up to her and told her she'd set up the wrong table and hostess threw a mini fit, rolling her eyes and slamming dishes. I wouldn't recommend this place. I went with my best friend and decided to take her here for her birthday. This restaurant needs major improvement and attention to detail from staff. I went to the bathroom and it had no toilet paper. The floors were sticky, the soap was a soap you could buy from TJ Maxx that was watered down. The soap dispenser they had anchored to the wall had no soap at all. This restroom was not even looked at from the night prior. The restaurant at this point was only open for 1 hour. While we waited for a table one the employees came to us and told us it would be a wait of 25 minutes. She offered us a drink while we waited, we never got our water we ordered. The waitress we got was okay. Not really that attentive and the place wasn't as packed. When she brought us our bill she added extra drinks and food plates to our bill. She had no attention to detail in making sure she was bringing us our correct bill. I had to tell her to correct it. The food was mediocre, nothing special. Not to mention it was overpriced for the quality. The place is aesthetically nice but other than that you pay for a service and it wasn't provided both with the food and the staff. La Condesa is a place that's has a very nice ambiance at times when the music is played by itself. When other people decide the music it destroys the ambiance itself. The service is something that's very slow where they take a long time to take your order and depends on how you are dressed is how they help you out. The place itself is extremely nice it's a 10/10 very nicely decorated. One should expect that the food is on that level but extremely mistaken. Ordered a Picahna plate which is supposed to be a good cut yet when it came it lacked flavor and worst part was that it was just a folded sirloin. The presentation of the plate itself is what killed it all. The side on the plate are fried potatoes not even baked which are fried with duck fat and it leaves a nasty smelling and nasty aftertaste. Where the plate is around 25-30 dollars one can expect asparagus or at least another side. It looks more like a DINNER plate (Dennys or IHOP) rather than this.
