First time out for dinner in a long time. Food was awesome, shrimp was crispy, the rolled tacos in green sauce was great. Food came quick. Only concern is the amount of people not wearing masks, and no real way to enforce.

Meatball sub so sloppy you cant pick it up to eat it.

Not impressed. Onion rings were good but very greasy. (See photo of the POOL on my plate). Chili- not gteat. Meatball sandwich so sloppy my husband could not even pick it up. And the taste- not that good. Reuben was was good but didn't have the traditional dressing- they just used mustard and i am not sure if it sucked up all the grease from the onion rings or if that was greasy too. Wings were tasty- if they were a little bigger i would say they would be the only reason we would be back. Waitresses tried- kinda. One was better then the other- they seemed to be tag teaming us. But i still had to go to the restroom to get paper towels to use as napkins. Very disappointing. Hope they are not closing the original.

You have to go check out this place out! The staff is amazing, food is delicious, great drink specials and the music is awesome!

I don't know how they do it, but best bar food around. We come back because we crave the nachos and rolled tacos combo.

Wanted to check out the lunch here; sat down at the bar, waited five minutes but wasn't acknowledged by bar tender checking her phone.

This review is a 4.5 (for me) but I'm rounding up to five stars. Origami Sake Bar is a nice…read moreaddition for El Paso! It's been around for a few months. I had no idea it existed until recently. It's a fun and classy speakeasy inside of Tin Man on George Dieter. They keep their location hidden on social media...I guess because it's a speakeasy? I think the concept is cute and fun. I almost felt like I wasn't in El Paso anymore! They have cute Japanese knick knacks and decor. There's only two tables and a small bar area. This is probably why it's hard to get a reservation. You can make a reservation by messaging them on Facebook or Instagram. If they don't get back to you, give them a call at Tin Man. They're open Thursday-Saturday from 7pm to 2 am and Sundays from 2-9 pm. Before Origami Sake Bar, I've only had sake a couple of times straight and...it was super strong. It almost knocked me out of my seat! This is coming from a lady who could drink Tequila like water. Those days are long gone btw. However, this sake bar changed those previous experiences for me. Why? Because they offer a combination of sweet and strong drinks. I had to have a sweet drink so I went with the Grogu. Forgive me, I can't remember what exactly was in it. If you like boba tea, this is the drink for you. It had a lot of boba balls in it. The Yoda stein holds a lot of drink and it stays cold. I was good with just this one drink. FYI: The drinks are not happy hour prices. My tab was $17 and change for one drink. I almost asked for a growler of Sangria from Tin Man instead. I'm not saying the drink was bad because it wasn't. I'm sure I was paying for the novelty of the stein and bar. The place doesn't offer any food. You can eat before or after...or bring your own. It would be cool if they offered Japanese snacks or cheese boards, something. Tin Man doesn't offer food so I guess it's the same here. Thank you for recommending Origami Sake Bar, Jenny L.! Thank you for also inviting me! :) Check it out if you get a chance.

Longer review to follow. Sake it to me El Paso! Yes... there's a hidden Sake bar speakeasy in El Paso, and it's gorgeous, along with my girlfriends that came out to check it out with me. It was a bit difficult to get an RSVP, I messaged them thru their FB page, but they didn't respond so I ended up calling the location which was Tin Man and they got me connected to RSVP. After that they were super responsive and gracious. We ended up having 8 ladies show up but at different times and they were nice enough to let us stay until the next reservation showed up at 10pm. We had a great time, drinks were strong and unique. Only things I would recommend to change are getting a better menu QR, it made you download the menu instead of just showing you, and not mixing the popping boba and regular boba in the drinks as it's a HUGE choking hazard, especially when drinking alcohol. I would definitely recommend this place for a cute night out or date night. They let you bring outside food in and we brought Riva's carne asada fries and nachos. Make sure you have a reservation though. Something new and fun in El Paso. Come out and #supportlocal Origami Sake Bar

This is one of my family's favorite spots for a reason! Every meal was super filling and delicious. For appetizers, we ordered the guac and the elote, and both were devoured almost immediately. We all ordered different dishes, so I got to try a little bit of everything, and honestly, everything was so good. The standouts for me were definitely the birria and the flautas. I also ordered a jamaica gin martini and loved it! I love how big the space is because they were able to accommodate our family of 10 very easily, no problem at all. We are not sure what happened, but the place changed. The old staff (who were relaxed and fun to be around) are all gone, the delicious food we kept returning to have is also gone, replaced by a menu that doesn't know what exactly this restaurant wants to be (tacos, fried chicken, attempt at French menu items, etc). They have 6 different kinds of French toast. We tasted 2 of them, and they have the same taste. Just different toppings. The price for the French toast with eggs, bacon and home fries was $17. Now they charge $18 just for 2 slices of brioche with some sauce that resembles the old Banana Foster sauce, and an additional $6 for the eggs, bacon and home fries. Disappointing, and more expensive than it's worth. Walking into a restaurant to be held hostage by some speech about a small store selling books inside the restaurant?! Yeah, don't do that. If we hadn't already ordered, we would have left. No refill on water, no inquiry about any other drinks. I wasn't even finished with my meal and the server slapped the check on the table and walked away. If that doesn't make you feel "welcome to leave", I don't know what does. Looking around, I find it unacceptable to bring food to the table 5 minutes apart for every person at the table. The staff now wears embroidered shirts with the restaurant logo (except for one, she was just chewing her gum while taking orders- also, ew), and the atmosphere has changed from casual to "we wanna be high end, we made some money so now we want you to pay more". Disappointing.
