Had a wonderful experience there! The establishment was nice, there was live music and dart games available to play. The drinks were well priced and very yummy! Happened to be in El Paso for a couple hours before flying out. One of the guys had been here before and said it was well worth the detour. We were the first customers when they opened at 11. This place is super cool. Love the decor and bombers. The inside is very nice the bartender was right on his game. He got our beers ordered and they were perfectly cold. I ordered a 1/2 dozen raw oysters and the fish and chips. He brought my oysters out very quickly. They were AWESOME ! The best part was the horseradish had a great kick too! The oysters smelled and tasted fresh. Extra stars for this. Then the fish and chips were just as good. Great crisp on the fish and tasted great. The fries were crispy and nothing special but they were good. Up to the very last one. Oysters, two beers and fish & chips - all under $40. Can't beat their prices. Next time I even drive through El Paso - I'll be stopping in. read more

Terrible oysters. I was served oysters that looked and tasted like they had been sitting for too long. I didn't finish the oysters. The location and style of the place is awesome. The service was good. Don't go there for the oysters. read more

Great happy hour from 11-7 including some unique bombers and oyster and shrimp shooters. Chicken sandwich was solid! I wasn't a huge fan of the crawfish, they tasted like they were frozen and then dethawed which makes sense being we are in a desert. The sauce was also meh. Nice bartender and service was really good. Lots of TVs too read more

Not bad at all. The service was great!! David was our bartender that day and his attitude was amazeballs...Knows his music!! The bar is downtown somewhere on the corner where it bridges the fancy downtown and all the cool shops ( if you know then you know). I've been here twice. The first time it was a stop for the hash run and the second time because we were shopping downtown. I heard the food was good but I got tacos before we stopped there. I might have to try the oysters next time. It seems like there's a story behind the name. They're literally right across from the Paseo Del Norte. The sign on the wall said live music during the weekends. Give them a try and let me know if I need to go back for the oysters or stick to the drinks and that cool-looking bar. read more

We are new to El Paso and ventured downtown and stumbled upon this place, went in for a couple of drinks and decided to stay and have some wings. Drinks - YES! Food - NO! Oh my goodness...if you're called the Oyster Pub then one should order Oysters right? WRONG. I've never tasted such fishy oysters. I shouldn't have continued eating them, but I didn't want to be a pain. I did let my waitress know though. The Oysters were not good. At all. Fishy, Fishy, Fishy...like strong fishy...ick. And if you think "Well that's what Oysters are supposed to taste like" WRONG. There should never be a fishy flavor - that means it's not fresh and running on the "old" side. We ordered shrimp tacos. Tiny. Bland. You can finish them in 2 bites, but they are cheap. Now drinks - I think this place is definitely better for drinks. The drink deals are pretty good and you get a lot for what you pay for. With all that said... COME HERE FOR THE DRINKS! and stay away from the food lol read more

My hubby and I were so happy to find this nice sports bar walking distance from our downtown Courtyard at Marriott hotel. I stayed at the DoubleTree and asked an employee at the front desk for a recommendation, and he said go here. It was pretty close the hotel, and getting here wasn't to bad, put the area is under construction, so I really couldn't see it . I parked on a side street, and got here about 9, on a Monday night. There were about 8 others here, with 4 playing darts, and a few at the bar with me. They had Oysters on special that night, so I ordered a half dozen, a nice Tito's, sat back and relaxed. Even thought they were not real busy, this place has a great atmosphere, and the next time I come back to El Paso, I will be back. read more

When I asked some people in El Paso about B-17, they hadn't heard of it. Odd, considering it's in the downtown area. - Definitely a divey place - Plenty of seating/tables, bar stools mostly - Dog friendly! - $5 bombs?? So cheap! - Daily specials written on the mirror at the bar are solid deals - Everything on the food menu is affordable, under $10, rest of items under $15, large portions - Friendly staff/bartenders - Open mic/DJs/Stand-up comedians come in and perform at night -TVs everywhere!!! Perfect for watching sports games Got myself some popcorn shrimp to go. Sooo much shrimp I could only get through half of it! I was realllly excited when I saw this place--they had me at oyster pub. The music was jamming from the outside. But I was soon disappointed. I really wanted and oyster shooter(I normally get these on the coast Louisiana, Alabama, Florida) I figured hey I'm only one state over should be right.. I was wrong. The oyster shooter here came with beer. I asked to change it out for vodka, they told me there would an up charge, I assumed the up charge was the totals price --nope it was $6 for the vodka I chose and another $2 for the oyster shot. I should have known the pricing was too good to be true. The oyster shot was interesting -- the cocktail sauce tasted more like hot sauce and the oysters were really crunchy! I've never had crunchy oysters. On top of that when I went to cash out the machines where down, they didn't know when they would be back up and they expected patrons to wait . I think this spot could be a really great place at night for a good time, my day time experiences as just a miss. read more

I found this place on a whim when the owner caught my attention to come in. I'm glad I did. I had mentioned that I was in a rush, and if I would be able to get my food quickly. Everyone from the owner to the bartenders went out of their way to make that possible. I appreciated the attention very much. I ordered the shrimp tacos and loaded fries. They were both delicious. Place has only been a little more than 1 year. Place is pretty cool. I came with Hannah and we made friends with another customer next to us and took shots with her. It was a Wednesday night so place was really empty so it was pretty cool that we rocked the place. Food wasn't bad either but the different bomb shots we took are really make this place. read more

If I can rice less than 1 star , I would . Terrible service . Stood literally in front of the bar for about 10 mins waiting for someone to take our order since we were told to order our food at the bar and then find a table to sit at because they were "busy". Numerous bartenders looked at us , whispered to each other , I'm assuming to verify if someone had helped us yet , and then continued to not assist us . We even asked one female bartender if they took orders at the bar ; she responded yea and then proceeded to not serve us . The last 5 mins of us standing there was to see how long they'd actually continue ignoring us standing right in front of them. I hate to say it, but we were two African American women road-tripping through Texas and stopped in El Paso for the night; wouldn't be surprised if we weren't served because of our race. We went on two days. The service was excellent both times. The big Mexican shrimp cocktail was excellent. The fish tacos were good. The baked oysters were nasty. Baked my butt. They were raw with toppings and dropped under the broiler to melt the cheese. They were out of ginger beer, Guinness and OJ. This place was good. Ordered chips and salsa, oysters, fish tacos, and baked oysters. The salsa wasn't that good, super spicy. The oysters were hard to pull out of shell. The tacos were ehhhh. The baked oysters were the best part, other than the fries lol. Would I eat here again? No. But the ambiance was super cool, seems like a fun place to be on a Thursday-Saturday...the bar tender was super nice and funny, made us laugh quite a bit. Overall it's more of a bar than a restaurant, so shouldn't have super high hopes for the food!! read more

Went with my friends last weekend. Samatha was our server.......I will never go back. We didn't have any food but we did have drinks. When we ordered me and my girlfriend got the same drinks on their special, the whole parties order was brought out fine but ours wasn't. Once we let our server know, she was annoyed but went back to change it for the right one...so we thought. When she came back we informed her she had only brought one when we ordered two(there was two of us still waiting on drinks...me and my girlfriend) When I told her that (we were kind, we always are, we are also in the service industry which is the reason I'm even taking time to do this review) she was SO ANNOYED. I don't understand the annoyance because she is the one that kept bringing first round wrong drinks, then second time she only brought one of the right one. She got MAD at us saying we are confusing. It was super rude. My friends and I are ALL in the industry and we were very kind to her, even after the incident. We decided to leave right after that and just closed tabs. Still tipped her because well, she brought the drinks even if she didn't want to and trust me, she made it known she didn't. It was a horrible experience and honestly I would never go back because of that. It was embarrassing to be talked to in that way and for genuinely no reason. Had she just said sorry she messed up and would bring the right ones or something in that manner it would have been totally fine. But no, she was an awful server took a long time anyways. We went somewhere else for the night and had a great time. Samantha....it really does pay to be nice. Be nicer girl, you didn't ruin my night but you could have ruined anyone's with that attitude. Besides that Ambiance was nice music was nice. read more

5 stars for value and service. Super friendly and helpful staff. Had a Blue Hawaiian drink as well as an Apple Vodka and tonic. Both excellent. Chips and salsa were excellent. You can't beat the price of the drinks and food, either. Will definitely be back! read more

Great things going on here. It is very hard to find great oysters in this dry never ending desert we call home. Therefore please do not expect anything different from this place. Do not get me wrong though, other than the puny size, the oysters on a half shell were well shucked and did taste fresh. My wife and I love trying wings wherever we go. Our preference is naked wings but were informed at B-17 they only come breaded. This tells me one thing: Frozen already prepared wings. Although this is an oyster bar, wings should be a staple to master if you offer bar food. Please pass on the wings if you come. I had the fish and chips which came out pipping hot and satisfyingly delicious. It was a nice change to have. They do have a full bar and great selection of craft beers bottled and draught. Our server Daniel was humorous, attentive and fast! Everything I love about hospitality. You will have a good time and meal if you don't come in comparing this to something you ate on the east coast. Remember we are desert dwellers and shipping costs kill businesses. read more
