Called to place an order for pick up- $185 for two Large pizzas and one Small. I Asked the girl on the phone if I could add vegetables on one of the pizzas and she said .... Horrible customer service, Eddie as soon as we were about to walk in guy turns off open sign and completely shuts us off. He asked us if we were there to pickup and we barely heard so he rolled his eyes and sort of yelled at us. I understand not wanting to make an order close to closing time but we arrived 15 minutes before closing time and only wanted a salad. Love this place. I tried it locally at the Montebello location about 10 years ago and always brag about this pizza to anyone who has not tried it. I was so happy to find out there was a location closer to my home in Whittier so I continue to recommend to either location. The service is always great and friendly. I've been going to Rios pizza for many years. New ownership means things change. The prices seems to have went up quite a bit and the quality has dropped. The wings from there were the best, now they're ok at best... if you plan on eating at a rios I recommend the montebello location for sure and they have inside seating. read more

The pizza here is still really good and still one of the best I ever had, but there needs to be some quality control with the baking here. I can't get the wings here anymore because they leave it in the oven too long and it's dry to the bone. They used to be the best, like they seriously were the best wings I ever had at one point, but quality control has deteriorated the past few years. I don't know what's happening. Even the pizza is becoming burnt. Which is fine for me, but obviously not fine for people who don't like that. I've been a fan for years as I grew up in Pico, to the point my family has attempted to take pizza with us on a plane to share with relatives overseas... However, this last weekend, the delicious antipasta dressing has been changed into a creamy, slightly sweet version, compared to the familiar vinegar/oil based with some acidity. When I called to place order, I asked what type of Wings they had, I was told that they have regular , mild, Spicy and BBQ...THEREFORE, I ordered 2 dozen BBQ Wings...Well, unbeknownst to me they actually put BBQ onto the Mild/Spicy Wings and they DID NOT inform me that what they do is NORMAL that they receive the Wings already COATED with MILD and SPICY spices and if a customer prefers BBQ sauce they cover the Mild and Spicy.... When I arrived to pick up my order turns out they made the wrong pizza even though the order was repeated literally 3 times as well as location. When we figure out they made a mistake a ALREADY annoyed shift leader came up wasn't apologetic in anyway says "So what do you want to do about it?" Rio's is hands down the best pizza in town. Maybe the world. The cheese is fresh, the crust is never burned. Even the wings have their time to shine, though I do wish there was a bit more sauce on them overall. Don't we always! They offer free delivery to Pico Rivera residents, which means we don't have an excuse to offer a nice tip and keep this local gem alive. Their estimates are spot on, by the way. The prices are exactly what you look for in a pizza spot of their stature. The large is equivalent-ish to two mediums. All in all, dope pizza and wonderful customer service. That's the cherry on top. Or, I guess pepperoni! Jajaja. My family has been coming here for years, maybe over a decade, if that's possible.
