It doesn't look like a Detroit style that I'm familiar with but don't let that fool you. The flavor coming off this pie satisfied my craving. I'm loving the crispy pep and spicy sauce. It's not overwhelming to where you can't enjoy but has just enough heat to make you feel it. Crust is flavorful and garlicky. I attempted to eat the whole thing but I guess I'm not a teenager anymore. That's ok. Can't wait to try it cold. (And the pizza grease?!, love it. Wish they had a ranch/pizza grease option to have on the side, hint, hint).
I like the pizza here especially on Wednesdays and Sundays when they have a special for Jumbo size (18") specialty pizzas. My favorite is the "supreme" pizza. It is filled with lots of toppings. Excellent pizza. This place is located on a busy street. There is a small "green zone" for people to stop briefly in front of the restaurant and run in to pick up their food. There is also a small parking area in back of the restaurant. But it is not easy to find a space. I recommend bringing someone with you when you go pick up your food from Jay's. Someone can run in to get the food while another person wait in the car. I highly recommend ordering food in advance since there is no place to dine in. And the wait can be long when they are busy. They have daily specials. I will be coming back to try other items.
The pizza from that place is it's horrible. The pizza it's always burn from the bottom. We has order 3 pizzas in three times and he was disgusting to know that the guy they had working in the back doesn't even know how to make pizza cause he was putting the pallet of pizza on the floor in picking up the pizza with the same dirty hands Disgusting would not recommend it to anybody.
Pops was in the mood for pizza but wanted moms n pops pizza spot. I called the on Yelp and decided to give this spot a try. The young lady "Lucy" answered the phone and was really nice after letting her looking for personal size pizza for my dad and suggested the six slices with pepperoni. Also explained my dad is diabetic with cancer which they had unsweetened tea and can put in the fridge will be nice n cold when i picked up. She said come by it will be ready in 20 minutes after arriving Lucy was so nice so customer friendly the spot has few tables with TV's and had the Dodgers game on yay. Well the real test pops are two slices and said that was done good pizza . Definitely give this spot a try the staff is awesome.
I'll make this short and sweet. We walked by this place and decided to try it. Pizza was mediocre. We got a jumbo with mushrooms and onion and a large spicy Detroit style. The jumbo had barely any toppings. There were at least 3 pieces that had no topping at all. 2nd the "Detroit style" was not a Detroit style. It was a normal square pizza. Nothing at all like a Detroit style.
Thanks for the burnt pizza. I shouldve checked on this before i left the place. The pizza tastes burnt also
Jay's Pizza is the best value in Monterey Park, especially their Wednesday and Sunday Jumbo (18") specials -- get a Supreme for just $18 + tax or a 1-topping for $12 + tax. They are also well-known for their massive 28" pies. Online ordering is the most convenient, and allows scheduling precise pickup times in 10-minute increments. The only parking is curbside, is extremely limited, and can be problematic at busy times or on days when there are special events (such as today's FIFA Final Match). But definitely worth the effort.
What's up: Was scrolling through UberEATS to figure out what to grab for dinner and saw that Jay's Pizza had a bogo deal on their pizza. Figured it was a good reason to try them out. Parking: Street parking on the busy Garfield Ave. They have a green curbed portion right in front of their store for pick up but can be hit or miss. Environment: I placed my order online and had a short wait when I arrived at the store. The pizzas came out hot! Plates, cheese, and peppers are provided on request. Staff members were friendly. I gave them my name, grabbed the pizzas, and was off. Fast and simple! What was ordered: - Large Pizza with Sausage (yum) Yay/Nay/Meh: Yay. Not only was the pizza good, the bogo deal made it even more awesome. Plenty of pizza for dinner and more. Depending on how busy the area is, you might need to walk a bit for parking. Credit cards are accepted.
If you're living in or just passing through the northern side of Montebello to visit the Top Golf then Jay's HAS TO be the spot you hit for pizza! I'm a long time patron whether they know it or not. I live in the area and have returned to, and recommended Jay's countless times. My favorite thing about their pizza is quite honestly the dough they use for the crust. It's soft, tastes like fresh baked bread and is irresistibly dippable in whatever sauce you get. Oh, and there's of course the toppings that go on the crust! The cheese? Sharp and stretchy. It's firm and melty. The toppings are always good, I've had just about everything they offer and have never had anything bad. The wings they offer are on the bigger side and have always been perfectly coated and cooked. I've never had dry or skimpy wings from Jay's. Their service is impeccable and they always have a good attitude. Their dining area is warm and spacious. They have TV's. Parking is street parking and there's usually plenty of space to park in the front. I will continue to eat here and recommend it to friends and family.
Support local small business, reasonable prices, good taste & flavors, large portions. Large 1 topping, 12 wings 2 different flavors & a side for $35 w tax. Can't beat that!
Love to support a local small business. Pizza was hot and super fresh out of the oven. Ingredients taste simple and high quality. The wings were delicious, generously coated in sauce.
Pizza was decent but was skimpy on the toppings (sausage and mushroom) and had major flopage. And why were most of the toppings in the middle of the pizza. The third near the crust didn't have any toppings.. Not sure I'd order again

Jay's Pizza is a true hidden gem in Monterey Park! I ordered a personal pepperoni and mushroom pizza, and it was delicious. The atmosphere made the experience even better. Being able to sit back, enjoy some great pizza, and watch the Dodgers game was exactly what I was looking for. The Dodgers decorations throughout the place add a special touch and make it feel like home for any Dodger fan. Great pizza, great atmosphere, and a place with character. Definitely a spot worth visiting if you're in the area. I'll be coming back! read more

I ordered Jay's on DoorDash out of pure laziness being that I am a five minute drive away. I ordered a combo pizza. Solid, utility pizza. Right amount of dough thickness. Cheese is enough, though I wouldn't have minded a little more. Toppings were solid quality. Pizza sauce was the right amount and had a nice flavor. Pizza was prepared fast and the delivery came on time and the pizza was still warm. I'd recommend the pizza at Jay's. read more

My family has bought from Jay's Pizza quite a few times now, and their pizzas do not disappoint. I last placed an order for Saturday, 11/16/2024 in the afternoon. The Supreme (Large 16") - $23.09 Price on Nov. 2024 via Postmates Delivery The Supreme pizza usually contains the following: Pepperoni, Canadian Bacon, Sausage, Onion, Olive, Bell Pepper, Bacon Bits, and Mushrooms. I opted for no olives since I'm not a fan. The pizza came piping hot and although it was delivered to our house, I liked how the store still included some extra parmesan and red pepper packets on the side. I ended up bringing the pizza over for an early Thanksgiving celebration. The kids and family enjoyed the pizza, which was tasty and not skimpy on the toppings. For the longest time since Jay's opened up, I'd pass by and wonder if it was any good? This location had been 2 other pizza companies before from what I could remember. Then I saw an Instagram post from a friend's relative with pictures of food from Jay's, and quite often so I got to ask someone how it was. Then I tried it and was pleased. But my most recent order was a little unsatisfactory. I ordered a pizza with 6 piece hot wings mild. I prefer thin crust and forgot to request that but the wings fell short; literally one piece was just the nub of the drummette. And the skin usually is a little more crispy, this time it was more fatty, not sure if it was because this was 45 mins before closing? Whoever put that order together should've paid closer attention and not put that partial piece in the order. read more

The girl at the counter had a bad attitude I noticed when I picked up my pizza regardless I gave a tip maybe she was having a bad day she was a little rude and impatient with me my hearing is a bit bad it's my disability but my review was for the burnt pizza hopefully when I reach out to them, they will do the right thing and remake it read more

Their wings are much better and slightly bigger than before. Sauces of wings were always tasty. I love their Buffalo Lemon Pepper, has a great kick and slightly spicier than other buffalo sauces. What a fantastic find! This spot is just a stone's throw from my church in Monterey Park, so we decided to stop by after service. We ended up ordering two jumbo pizzas--normally priced at $21.99 each, but they had a special at $17.99, making it such a great deal that we couldn't resist getting two! From the first bite, it was clear they take pride in their food. The house-made sauce and dough, along with freshly cut vegetables, set them apart from the many so-called pizza places that rely on canned ingredients. That attention to quality made all the difference in flavor! The guy working the front--who I suspect might be the owner--seemed genuinely proud of the food he was serving. The place was spotless, service was excellent, and there was a steady stream of customers the whole time we were there. Everything on the menu appears to be made in-house, which is a rare and much-appreciated touch. What We Ordered: * Jumbo Supreme Pizza ($21.99 regular, $17.99 special) - Loaded with fresh veggies, not canned, and a house-made sauce that's leagues above the typical jarred or canned stuff. Totally worth the price! * Jumbo Monterey Park Pizza ($21.99 regular, $17.99 special) - Topped with pepperoni, real bacon bits (not those fake bacon sprinkles), fresh mushrooms, and roasted garlic bits that cook into the pizza for an amazing depth of flavor. Loved this one! * Jalapeño Poppers ($4.99) - Such a fair price, especially considering they make them fresh instead of using frozen, pre-packaged ones. * Potato Wedges ($4.99) - These were phenomenal! Jays is our local go to pizza joint, been coming here for years. Always cooked perfectly and tastes deliciously. Call in order and pick up is quick. Staff that runs it are friendly and prices are great! My boys usually get the $6 personal pizzas, but this night, we got a large. They got a good menu. Our favorites are the chicken wings and pizza. I've been coming here for years but the last 2 times specifically have been horrendous experiences. I ordered for pickup last Friday for 6pm and my food was not ready until 630pm. I was told when I arrived at 6pm that it would be "a few minutes". I am pretty sure they forgot my order. I ordered again this past Sunday and the pizza was burnt. Used to be my go to spot for pizza but not anymore. read more
