    Sad grinder sandwich.
    Joanna N.

I'm so sad. I used to get grinder sandwiches with my coworker all the time during our lunch breaks. We would occasionally split an order only to realize we should've gotten our own because they were that good. Fast forward some years, I returned to get a grinder sandwich. I was so excited to sink my teeth into the crispy crust, fresh lettuce, thick cut tomatoes, layers of meat, the generous amount of mayo. Their sandwiches were exactly the way the business owner and other customers have posted photos about. I was so disappointed. The lettuce was sprinkled on like they were rationing it. And they were really wilted. There were probably 2 or 3 slices of meat layered on. I had to hunt for the tomato slices. At least the bread was still crusty and the mayo was still generous. Otherwise, I was so let down. Again, it's been years since I've had their sandwiches, but there's no way quality has gone down this bad. At least their calzone looked the same.

Pepperoni Pizza is literally my comfort food from this location. In my opinion it's the best. The Garlic buffalo wings are delicious I recommend 100%! I usually door dash my order and once in a while I will go pick it up. It's great to the either option.

Great food and great service. Pizza is always made to order and hot! The sandwiches and pasta are great as well. The dining area is very calm lots of space to eat.

You want tradition? You want a place that makes you sit and wait awhile and forces you to have a conversation with one another as your pizza is cooked to perfection? Look no further. Let's begin this pizza review. LA or East LA has a scarcity of good authentic Italian pizza, and I mean it. And finding one good pizza place is an arduous process. I think Pizza Time has one of the best pizza. It's almost as good as NY pizza, where I grew up. Pizza Time is a small pizza place located in a small corner plaza on S. Atlantic avenue. PT's mission is keeping the tradition on what it means to be Italian. This place makes you feel like family. Don't be afraid to order something other than pizza because whatever you order will be on point. I ordered a mini pizza with two toppings and a bottle of water. It's delightfully tasty and stimulating to the palate. The melted mozzarella cheese was great and the crust was as good as the pizza itself; a word of advise make sure you wait until it cools down so that you won't burn your upper palate as you eat. Anyways, their prices were reasonable given the quality of food. Overall, I enjoyed my pizza and their service. I highly recommend them.

I got the lunch special for $10.99. Love that there were nutritious greens, sometimes all you get is iceberg lettuce at some of these pizza joints for their lunch special salads. Pizza slice was smaller than expected, i was expecting a giant slice or at least something bigger than a Chuck E Ceese slice. Back was burned a bit and crust was hard as a rock. Mozzarella was gooey and yummy though, but definitely not gourmet (i dont think) for you cheese snobs. Service and ambiance was what you can expect at any hole in the wall pizza joint.

I remember this place use be Rio's Pizza many years ago this is my first coming back from so many years ago. At the time I was going back I was saying to my self I hope they certain crunch to the crust I love the crust is nice and crispy when taking a bite. The place looks the same at the same location just across the street from East L.A. College then I went in and saw the menu. I was looking what to order but I decided to order two slice of cheese pizza and a large veggie sandwich to go. It took 10 minutes to get my order then I left to go home. The smell of the slice cheese pizza was over willing I decided to take one of the slice cheese pizza apart,I took the crust very crunchy and chewy that's the way I like it. I got home just finish just one of the slice and took the other slice apart both slice were very good. The tomatoe was very good with a good flavor that wasn't salty or water down it brought the flavor of tomatoe out with cheese was really good I really enjoy it. My large veggie sandwich was pretty good good flavors like mushrooms and the onion and the green pepper and the cheese add it so balance in sandwich I really like it very much. I need come back again soon.

Ordered takeout and was surprised it was empty considering its next to ELAC. Very delicious food for a reasonable price. My boyfriend and I shared a small (but generous portions) baked mostaccioli and a calzone. Both items had an abundance of cheese (my fave!!!) and they certainly did not skimp out on toppings!! If you're a cheese lover I recommend supporting this business! In total, everything came out to be $28 and some change but it was completely worth it imo for the portions alone.

It's the closest pizza delivery to me. So it's what I use in a pinch. The dough and cheese are fresh, but no depth in flavor in sauce.

To be honest,…read morethis is just an average pizza for me - it sorta reminds me of something you would find at a fair. There's only one size available so that's a problem if it's just you. As you can see, the pizza is huge! Yes, you can buy slices but it makes more financial sense to buy a whole pizza. Next, this is not a "cheesy" pizza. So, if you like all that gooey cheese on your pizza, you're going to be disappointed here. The cheese is so minimal you may ask yourself if there's in fact any cheese on the pizza. The cheesy bread, however, will satisfy your desire for gooey cheese. Highly recommend you pick up a side of the bread. It reheats up nicely too. As pictured, there's inside and outside dining areas. I went when it just opened so there were only a few people dining. Parking here will not be easy. I was told that if you pass the residences, there is ample parking on a vacant lot. This is not the safest neighborhood so if you're a female and you're by yourself, you may not want to park that far and make that walk (especially at night). There is a Dollar Tree across the street with a lot, however, that establishment also tends to draw sketchy characters. So, if easy parking is one of you're requirements, you may want to pass on this place. All in all, this place was more hype and it left me craving that satisfying cheesiness that should be on a pizza. I definitely won't have this place on rotation when I get that pizza craving. No hate, I just love my pizza cheesy. ‍

The service was super friendly and the server was very attentive making sure I had everything I wanted. The place is a little rundown and definitely a hole in the wall. It was a little busy, but I was able to find a spot. I don't know if I would recommend this place... I think they are known more for their pizzas which I did not try. The sandwich I ordered was delicious. However, the bread was very puffy and a bit dry. Not what I would expect for an Italian sub. The lentil soup could use a little more salt, some garlic, and a little thyme. And the garlic bread was nothing to write home about. I ordered dessert, and the only dessert they have is tiramisu. The server brought me a square that was a little lopsided and it was warm on the bottom and frozen on the top. I don't think I will get it again. The iced tea was delicious... It was brewed tea, which is my favorite kind. I ordered it with a lemon and it was a nice fat wedge that was pretty juicy. Overall, the portions are great, I ended up bringing half of my sandwich home. Enjoy!

We were greeted by the host and waited about 2-3 minutes to be seated. There were around 4 or 5 tables that were already seated and/or eating. Setting: typical western restaurant with booths and tables. Quite dark inside. We were sat at a booth but the seats had a bunch of residual bread crumbs on them. We had to ask a waiter/busboy to clean off the seats for us. Food: This restaurant is known for their pizza so we ordered their signature pizza to share. We also ordered the fried zucchini appetizer and the spaghetti bolognese which came with a side (Minestrone soup) There was complimentary bread and butter for the table - it was soft and fluffy on the inside and had a nice crust. But it came out cold. Would have been better if it was warmed up. Fried zucchini: well breaded, came with ranch. Portion size was ok, not too big but not too little either. But quite expensive at $11 for an appetizer that did not WOW the table. Minestrone Soup: average, quite salty, given it is early in the evening, the soup should not be this salty whereas the end of the day usually means the soup has been reduced and concentrated by warming/simmering. Spaghetti Bolognese: plenty of meat in the sauce and pretty tasty as well; but the biggest flaw was that the spaghetti was way overcooked. Huge negative for an Italian restaurant - the base/pasta of your dishes should be perfect and this was far from Al dente. Petrillo Signature Pizza: loaded with toppings, they did not cheap out with the toppings and pretty tasty as well; however, another big flaw was that the dough was dry and dense - the dough did not rise. The yeast in the dough was either non-existent or was not given enough time to rise and create the fluffy dough and crust texture of a typical pizza. We basically got dense flatbread. As this was the signature pizza, it was quite disappointing. Service: Average, nothing great. The servers came by a couple times only after the food came out. Could have really stopped by a couple more time to check in. Rating: 2 stars Review summary is based on mainly food quality as the quality of the food, attention to detail, and execution all was very subpar. Given the kitchen was not super busy on a Saturday evening, the poor quality leaves much to desire.
